LA SACRA BIBBIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 "In quel tempo si leverà Michele, il grande principe che sta a guardia dei figli del tuo popolo. Sarà un tempo di angoscia che mai c'è stato da quando ci fu un popolo fino a quel momento. In quel tempo il tuo popolo sarà salvato, ognuno che si troverà scritto nel libro.	1 'At that time Michael wil arise -- the great Prince, defender of your people. That wil be a time of greatdistress, unparal eled since nations first came into existence. When that time comes, your own people wil bespared -- al those whose names are found written in the Book.
2 Molti di quelli che dormono nel paese della polvere si desteranno: questi alla vita eterna; ma quelli al ludibrio, all'infamia eterna.	2 'Of those who are sleeping in the Land of Dust, many wil awaken, some to everlasting life, some toshame and everlasting disgrace.
3 I saggi splenderanno come lo splendore del firmamento e quelli che avranno condotto molti alla giustizia saranno come le stelle in eterno, per sempre!	3 Those who are wise wil shine as brightly as the expanse of the heavens, and those who haveinstructed many in uprightness, as bright as stars for al eternity.
4 E tu, Daniele, tieni segrete le parole e sigilla il libro sino al tempo della fine. Molti scruteranno e la conoscenza crescerà!".	4 'But you, Daniel, must keep these words secret and keep the book sealed until the time of the End.Many wil roam about, this way and that, and wickedness wil continue to increase.'
5 Io Daniele guardavo. Ecco altri due stavano uno di qua sulla sponda del fiume e uno di là sull'altra sponda.	5 I, Daniel, then looked and saw two other people standing, one on the near bank of the river, the otheron the far.
6 Uno domandò all'uomo vestito di lino che stava sopra le acque del fiume: "A quando la fine delle cose straordinarie?".	6 One of them said to the man dressed in linen who was standing further up the stream, 'How long untilthese wonders take place?'
7 Allora io udii l'uomo vestito di lino che stava sopra le acque del fiume, alzando la destra e la sinistra al cielo, giurare per il Vivente in eterno: "Per un tempo, per tempi e per mezzo tempo! Quando si sarà finito di distruggere la forza del popolo santo, tutte queste cose saranno compiute!".	7 I heard the man speak who was dressed in linen, standing further up the stream: he raised his righthand and his left to heaven and swore by him who lives for ever, 'A time and two times, and half a time; and althese things wil come true, once the crushing of the holy people's power is over.'
8 Io intesi, ma non capii, perciò domandai: "Signore mio, quale sarà il compimento di queste cose?".	8 I listened but did not understand. I then said, 'My lord, what is to be the outcome?'
9 Mi rispose: "Va', Daniele, perché le parole sono scritte e sigillate sino al tempo della fine.	9 'Go, Daniel,' he said. 'These words are to remain secret and sealed until the time of the End.
10 Molti saranno purificati, lavati, provati; ma gli empi rimarranno empi; tutti gli empi non comprenderanno; solo i sapienti comprenderanno.	10 Many wil be cleansed, made white and purged; the wicked will persist in doing wrong; the wicked willnever understand; those who are wise wil understand.
11 Dal momento in cui cesserà il sacrificio perpetuo e sarà innalzato l'abominio della desolazione ci saranno milleduecentonovanta giorni.	11 From the moment that the perpetual sacrifice is abolished and the appal ing abomination set up: athousand two hundred and ninety days.
12 Beato colui che aspetterà e arriverà a milletrecentotrentacinque giorni!	12 Blessed is he who perseveres and attains a thousand three hundred and thirty-five days.
13 Quanto a te, va' sino alla fine; ti riposerai e quindi ti rialzerai per ricevere la tua parte, alla fine dei giorni!".	13 But you, go away and rest; and you wil rise for your reward at the end of time.'
