LA SACRA BIBBIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Sedecia aveva ventun anni quando cominciò a regnare, e regnò undici anni in Gerusalemme. Il nome di sua madre era Camithal, figlia di Geremia di Libna.	1 Zedekiah was twenty-one years old when he came to the throne, and he reigned for eleven years inJerusalem. His mother's name was Hamital daughter of Jeremiah, of Libnah.
2 Egli agì male agli occhi del Signore, secondo tutto ciò che aveva fatto Ioiakìm.	2 He did what is displeasing to Yahweh, just as Jehoiakim had done.

5 Così la città rimase assediata fino al decimoprimo anno del regno di Sedecia.	5 The city lay under siege till the eleventh year of King Zedekiah.

7 Allora fu aperta una breccia nella città e tutti gli uomini di guerra fuggirono, uscendo dalla città di notte, attraverso la Porta tra i due muri che è presso il Giardino del re, mentre i Caldei circondavano la città all'intorno, e se ne andarono verso l'Araba.	7 a breach was made in the city wal . The king and al the fighting men then fled, leaving the city undercover of dark, by way of the gate between the two wal s, which is near the king's garden -- the Chaldaeans hadsurrounded the city -- and made his way towards the Arabah.
8 Però le truppe dei Caldei inseguirono il re e raggiunsero Sedecia nell'Araba di Gerico, mentre tutto il suo esercito si disperse abbandonandolo.	8 The Chaldaean troops pursued the king and caught up with Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho, where allhis troops deserted.

16 Parte dei poveri del paese, invece, Nabuzaradàn, capo della guardia, li lasciò come vignaioli e contadini.	16 But Nebuzaradan commander of the guard left some of the poor country-people behind as vineyardworkers and ploughmen.
17 I Caldei spezzarono le colonne di bronzo che erano nella casa del Signore e le basi e il mare di bronzo che era nella casa del Signore e asportarono tutto il bronzo in Babilonia.	17 The Chaldaeans broke up the bronze pil ars from the Temple of Yahweh, the wheeled stands and thebronze Sea, which were in the Temple of Yahweh, and took al the bronze away to Babylon.
18 Presero anche le caldaie, le palette, i coltelli, i bacini, le coppe e tutti gli utensili di bronzo di uso liturgico.	18 They also took the ash containers, the scoops, the knives, the sprinkling bowls, the incense bowls,and all the bronze furnishings used in worship.
19 Il capo della guardia prese pure i bicchieri, i bracieri, i bacili, le caldaie, i candelabri, le coppe e i calici, quelli in oro e quelli in argento.	19 The commander of the guard also took the bowls, the censers, the sprinkling bowls, the ashcontainers, the lamp-stands, the goblets and the saucers: everything that was made of gold and everythingmade of silver.
20 Quanto alle due colonne, all'unico mare, ai dodici buoi di bronzo, che stavano sotto di esso, alle basi, cose che fece il re Salomone per la casa del Signore, non si poteva pesare il bronzo di tutti questi utensili.	20 As regards the two pil ars, the one Sea, the twelve bronze oxen supporting the Sea, and the wheeledstands, which King Solomon had made for the Temple of Yahweh, there was no reckoning the weight of bronzein all these objects.
21 L'altezza di ogni colonna era di diciotto cubiti e un filo di dodici cubiti poteva circondarla; il suo spessore era di quattro dita; all'interno era vuota.	21 As regards the pil ars, the height of one pillar was eighteen cubits, its circumference was twelvecubits, it was four fingers thick, and hol ow inside;

31 Nell'anno trentasettesimo della deportazione di Ioiachìn, re di Giuda, nel dodicesimo mese, il venticinque del mese, Evil-Merodàch, re di Babilonia, nell'anno della sua intronizzazione, graziò Ioiachìn, re di Giuda e lo fece uscire dalla prigione.	31 But in the thirty-seventh year of the exile of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, on thetwenty-fifth day of the month, Evil-Merodach king of Babylon, in the year he came to the throne, pardonedJehoiachin king of Judah and released him from prison.
