Isaia 6

1 Nell'anno della morte del re Ozia vidi il Signore seduto su un trono alto ed elevato, e i suoi lembi riempivano il tempio.	1 In the year King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord seated on a high and lofty throne, with the train of his garment filling the temple.
2 Dei serafini stavano sopra di lui; ognuno di essi aveva sei ali; con due si coprivano la faccia, con due si coprivano i piedi e con due volavano.	2 Seraphim were stationed above; each of them had six wings: with two they veiled their faces, with two they veiled their feet, and with two they hovered aloft.
3 L'uno all'altro gridavano dicendo: "Santo, santo, santo è il Signore degli eserciti; tutta la terra è piena della sua gloria".	3 "Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts!" they cried one to the other. "All the earth is filled with his glory!"
4 Gli stipiti delle soglie tremavano per la voce di quelli che gridavano, mentre il tempio si riempiva di fumo.	4 At the sound of that cry, the frame of the door shook and the house was filled with smoke.
5 E dissi: "Ohimè, sono perduto, poiché sono un uomo dalle labbra impure, e vivo in mezzo a un popolo dalle labbra impure; eppure i miei occhi hanno visto il Re, il Signore degli eserciti!".	5 Then I said, "Woe is me, I am doomed! For I am a man of unclean lips, living among a people of unclean lips; yet my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts!"
6 Uno dei serafini volò verso di me tenendo nella mano un carbone acceso, che aveva preso con delle molle dall'altare.	6 Then one of the seraphim flew to me, holding an ember which he had taken with tongs from the altar.
7 Egli mi toccò la bocca dicendo: "Ecco, questo ha toccato le tue labbra; la tua colpa è rimossa e il tuo peccato espiato".	7 He touched my mouth with it. "See," he said, "now that this has touched your lips, your wickedness is removed, your sin purged."
8 Poi udii la voce del Signore che diceva: "Chi manderò? Chi andrà per noi?". E risposi: "Eccomi, manda me!".	8 Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? Who will go for us?" "Here I am," I said; "send me!"
9 Allora disse: "Va' e di' a questo popolo: Ascoltate bene, ma senza comprendere, osservate bene, ma senza riconoscere.	9 And he replied: Go and say to this people: Listen carefully, but you shall not understand! Look intently, but you shall know nothing!
10 Indurisci il cuore di questo popolo, appesantisci le sue orecchie, vela i suoi occhi, affinché non veda con i suoi occhi né ascolti con le sue orecchie né intenda con il suo cuore, si converta e guarisca".	10 You are to make the heart of this people sluggish, to dull their ears and close their eyes; Else their eyes will see, their ears hear, their heart understand, and they will turn and be healed.
11 Io dissi: "Fino a quando, Signore?". Egli rispose: "Fino a che le città non saranno deserte, senza abitanti, le case senza uomini e il paese devastato e desolato".	11 "How long, O Lord?" I asked. And he replied: Until the cities are desolate, without inhabitants, Houses, without a man, and the earth is a desolate waste.
12 Il Signore allontanerà la popolazione e vi sarà grande abbandono in mezzo al paese.	12 Until the LORD removes men far away, and the land is abandoned more and more.
13 Vi rimarrà una decima parte ma sarà di nuovo consumata, come la quercia e il terebinto, di cui, abbattuti, resta solo il ceppo. Una semente santa è il ceppo.	13 If there be still a tenth part in it, then this in turn shall be laid waste; As with a terebinth or an oak whose trunk remains when its leaves have fallen. (Holy offspring is the trunk.)
