The women and the children joined in, and the rejoicing at Jerusalem could be heard from afar off.
44 In quell'occasione alcuni uomini furono preposti alle stanze che servivano da magazzini per le offerte, per le primizie e per le decime, allo scopo di raccogliervi, dai contadi delle città, i quantitativi fissati dalla legge per i sacerdoti e i leviti. Poiché i sacerdoti e i leviti nelle loro funzioni erano la gioia dei Giudei.	44 At that time men were appointed over the chambers set aside for stores, offerings, first fruits, and tithes; in them they were to collect from the fields of the various cities the portions legally assigned to the priests and Levites.
