BIBBIA RICCIOTTI	CATHOLIC PUBLIC DOMAIN
1 - Preghiera del misero, ch'è angosciato e al cospetto del Signore effonde la sua [flebile] supplica.	1 The prayer of the pauper, when he was anxious, and so he poured out his petition in the sight of the Lord.
2 O Signore, ascolta la mia preghierae il mio grido giunga a te!	2 O Lord, hear my prayer, and let my outcry reach you.
3 Non rivolger la tua faccia da me: nel dì ch'io son tribolato, china verso di me il tuo orecchio; nel dì ch'io t'invoco, prontamente esaudiscimi.	3 Do not turn your face away from me. In whatever day that I am in trouble, incline your ear to me. In whatever day that I will call upon you, heed me quickly.
4 Perchè si dileguan come fumo i miei giornie le mie ossa come un sarmento si seccano.	4 For my days have faded away like smoke, and my bones have dried out like firewood.
5 Sono abbattuto come fieno e inaridisce il mio cuore, perchè dimentico [pur] di mangiare il mio pane.	5 I have been cut down like hay, and my heart has withered, for I had forgotten to eat my bread.
6 Per il gridare e gemere, si sono attaccate le ossa alla mia carne!	6 Before the voice of my groaning, my bone has adhered to my flesh.
7 Son simile al pellicano del deserto, son diventato come il gufo delle rovine.	7 I have become like a pelican in solitude. I have become like a night raven in a house.
8 Veglio [la notte] e son diventatocome un passero solitario sul tetto.	8 I have kept vigil, and I have become like a solitary sparrow on a roof.
9 Tutto il giorno m'insultano i miei nemici, e quei che [in faccia] mi lodano, [con]giuran contro di me.	9 All day long my enemies reproached me, and those who praised me swore oaths against me.
10 La cenere io mangio come pane e la mia bevanda mescolo col pianto,	10 For I chewed on ashes like bread, and I mixed weeping into my drink.
11 a causa dell'ira e dello sdegno tuo, perchè m'hai sollevato e sbattuto a terra.	11 By the face of your anger and indignation, you lifted me up and threw me down.
12 I miei giorni come ombra declinano, e io come erba inaridisco.	12 My days have declined like a shadow, and I have dried out like hay.
13 Ma tu, o Signore, perduri [re] in eternoe la tua memoria [va] di generazione in generazione.	13 But you, O Lord, endure for eternity, and your memorial is from generation to generation.
14 Tu sorgerai e avrai pietà di Sion, perch'[è] tempo d'averne pietà, perch'è venuto il momento.	14 You will rise up and take pity on Zion, for it is time for its mercy, for the time has come.
15 Chè han care i tuoi servi le sue pietre e sulla sua polvere gemono.	15 For its stones have pleased your servants, and they will take pity on its land.
16 E temeran le genti il tuo nome, o Signore, e tutti i re della terra la tua gloria;	16 And the Gentiles will fear your name, O Lord, and all the kings of the earth your glory.
17 perchè il Signore [ri]edificherà Sione [vi] si mostrerà nella sua gloria;	17 For the Lord has built up Zion, and he will be seen in his glory.
18 baderà alla supplica degli afflitti, e non disprezzerà la loro preghiera.	18 He has noticed of the prayer of the humble, and he has not despised their petition.
19 Sia scritto ciò per la generazione avvenire, e il popolo che sarà creato loderà il Signore:	19 Let these things be written in another generation, and the people who will be created will praise the Lord.
20 perchè ha volto giù lo sguardo dalla sua santa altezza, [perchè] dal cielo il Signore ha guardato sulla terra,	20 For he has gazed from his high sanctuary. From heaven, the Lord has beheld the earth.
21 per ascoltare i gemiti de' prigionieri, per liberare i figli della morte:	21 So may he hear the groans of those in shackles, in order that he may release the sons of the slain.
22 perchè si annunzi in Sion il nome del Signore e la sua lode in Gerusalemme,	22 So may they announce the name of the Lord in Zion and his praise in Jerusalem:
23 mentre i popoli s'adunano insieme e i re, per servire il Signore.	23 while the people convene, along with kings, in order that they may serve the Lord.
24 Egli ha fiaccato per via la mia forza, ha abbreviato i miei giorni. [Ma] io [gli] dirò: «Dio mio,	24 He responded to him in the way of his virtue: Declare to me the brevity of my days.
25 non mi rapirenel bel mezzo de' miei dì: di generazione in generazione [si stendono]i tuoi anni!».	25 Do not call me back in the middle of my days: your years are from generation to generation.
26 In principio, o Signore, tu fondasti la terrae opera delle tue mani sono i cieli!	26 In the beginning, O Lord, you founded the earth. And the heavens are the work of your hands.
27 Essi periranno, ma tu rimani: e tutti come un vestito si logoreranno, e come un mantello li muterai e saran mutati;	27 They will perish, but you remain. And all will grow old like a garment. And, like a blanket, you will change them, and they will be changed.
28 ma tu sei [sempre] quelloe gli anni tuoi non vengon meno.	28 Yet you are ever yourself, and your years will not decline.
29 [Così] i figliuoli de' tuoi servi resteranno ad abitar [la loro terra] e la loro progenie in eterno sarà stabilita [dinanzi a te].	29 The sons of your servants will live, and their offspring will be guided aright in every age.
