1 - Davide si costruì delle case nella città di Davide ed edificò un luogo per l'arca di Dio e vi piantò un tabernacolo.	1 David built houses for himself in the City of David and prepared a place for the ark of God, pitching a tent for it there.
2 Allora Davide disse: «Nessuno deve portare l'arca di Dio, tranne i leviti, che il Signore ha scelti per portarla e per essere suoi ministri in eterno».	2 At that time he said, "No one may carry the ark of God except the Levites, for the LORD chose them to carry the ark of the LORD and to minister to him forever."
3 Riunì allora tutto Israele in Gerusalemme per portar l'arca di Dio nel luogo che le aveva preparato.	3 Then David assembled all Israel in Jerusalem to bring the ark of the LORD to the place which he had prepared for it.
4 Convocò ancora i figli di Aronne e i leviti.	4 David also called together the sons of Aaron and the Levites:
5 Dei figli di Caat il principe fu Uriel e i fratelli di lui furono centoventi;	5 of the sons of Kohath, Uriel, their chief, and one hundred and twenty of his brethren;
6 dei figli di Merari il principe fu Asaia e i fratelli di lui duecentoventi;	6 of the sons of Merari, Asaiah, their chief, and two hundred and twenty of his brethren;
7 dei figli di Gersom fu principe Joel e i fratelli di lui furono centotrenta;	7 of the sons of Gershon, Joel, their chief, and one hundred and thirty of his brethren;
8 dei figli di Elisafan Semeia fu il principe e i fratelli di lui furono duecento;	8 of the sons of Elizaphan, Shemaiah, their chief, and two hundred of his brethren;
9 dei figli di Ebron fu principe Eliel e i fratelli di lui ottanta;	9 of the sons of Hebron, Eliel, their chief, and eighty of his brethren;
10 dei figli di Oziel Aminadab fu principe e i fratelli di lui centododici.	10 of the sons of Uzziel, Amminadab, their chief, and one hundred and twelve of his brethren.
11 Chiamò Davide anche Sadoc e Abiatar sacerdoti e i leviti Uriel, Asaia, Joel, Semeia, Eliel e Aminadab,	11 David summoned the priests Zadok and Abiathar, and the Levites Uriel, Asaiah, Joel, Shemaiah, Eliel, and Amminadab,
12 e disse loro: «Voi che siete i principi delle famiglie dei leviti, santificatevi insieme coi vostri fratelli, e portate l'arca del Signore Dio di Israele al luogo che le è stato preparato,	12 and said to them: "You, the heads of the levitical families, must sanctify yourselves along with your brethren and bring the ark of the LORD, the God of Israel, to the place which I have prepared for it.
13 affinchè come da principio, per non essere voi stati presenti, il Signore ci castigò, così non avvenga altrettanto anche al presente, qualora noi facessimo qualche cosa illecita».	13 Because you were not with us the first time, the wrath of the LORD our God burst upon us, for we did not seek him aright."
14 I sacerdoti e i leviti adunque si santificarono per portare l'arca del Signore Dio d'Israele.	14 Accordingly, the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of the LORD, the God of Israel.
15 E i figli di Levi portarono l'arca di Dio come avea comandato Mosè dietro l'ordine del Signore sulle loro spalle, per mezzo di bastoni.	15 The Levites bore the ark of God on their shoulders with poles, as Moses had ordained according to the word of the LORD.
16 Disse ancora Davide ai principi dei leviti che stabilissero tra i loro fratelli dei cantori con istrumenti di musica, con liuti, lire, cembali, che dovevano far sonare vigorosamente in segno di gioia.	16 David commanded the chiefs of the Levites to appoint their brethren as chanters, to play on musical instruments, harps, lyres, and cymbals, to make a loud sound of rejoicing.
17 Ed essi stabilirono questi leviti: Eman figlio di Joel, e tra i suoi fratelli: Asaf figlio di Barachia; tra i figli di Merari loro fratelli: Etan figlio di Casaia,	17 Therefore the Levites appointed Heman, son of Joel, and, among his brethren, Asaph, son of Berechiah; and among the sons of Merari, their brethren, Ethan, son of Kushaiah;
18 e con essi i loro fratelli; di second'ordine: Zaccaria, Ben, Jaziel, Semiramot, Jaiel, Ani, Eliab, Banaia, Maasia, Matatia, Elifalu, Macenia, Obededom e Jeiel portieri.	18 and, together with these, their brethren of the second rank: the gatekeepers Zechariah, Uzziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Benaiah, Maaseiah, Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, Mikneiah, Obed-edom, and Jeiel.
19 I cantori Eman, Asaf, Etan, aveano dei cembali di bronzo che facevano sonare;	19 The chanters, Heman, Asaph, and Ethan, sounded brass cymbals.
20 mentre Zaccaria, Oziel, Semiramot, Jaiel, Ani, Eliab, Maasia e Banaia sonavano con liuti inni misteriosi.	20 Zechariah, Uzziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Maaseiah, and Benaiah played on harps set to "Alamoth."
21 Matatia ed Elifalu, Macenia, Obededom, Jeiel e Ozaziu cantavano sulle cetre a otto corde inni di vittoria.	21 But Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, Mikneiah, Obed-edom, and Jeiel led the chant on lyres set to "the eighth."
22 Conenia principe dei leviti, presiedeva al canto e dirigeva la musica, nel che era molto valente.	22 Chenaniah was the chief of the Levites in the chanting; he directed the chanting, for he was skillful.
23 Barachia e Elcana erano i portieri dell'arca,	23 Berechiah and Elkanah were gatekeepers before the ark.
24 mentre Sebenia, Josafat, Natanael, Amasai, Zaccaria, Banaia e Eliezer sacerdoti sonavano colle trombe dinanzi all'arca di Dio e Obededom e Jeia erano portieri dell'arca.	24 The priests, Shebaniah, Joshaphat, Nethanel, Amasai, Zechariah, Benaiah, and Eliezer, sounded the trumpets before the ark of God. Obed-edom and Jeiel were also gatekeepers before the ark.
25 Adunque Davide e tutti gli anziani d'Israele e i tribuni andarono per trasportare con letizia l'arca dell'alleanza del Signore dalla casa di Obededom.	25 Thus David, the elders of Israel, and the commanders of thousands went to bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD with joy from the house of Obed-edom.
26 Avendo Dio aiutato i leviti, che portavano l'arca dell'alleanza del Signore, furono immolati sette tori e sette arieti.	26 While the Levites, with God's help, were bearing the ark of the covenant of the LORD, seven bulls and seven rams were sacrificed.
27 Davide poi era vestito di un manto di bisso; parimenti tutti i leviti che portavano l'arca, i cantori e Conena capo del coro dei cantori. Davide poi era anche vestito di un efod di lino.	27 David was clothed in a robe of fine linen, as were all the Levites who carried the ark, the singers, and Chenaniah, the leader of the chant; David was also wearing a linen ephod.
28 Tutto Israele accompagnava l'arca dell'alleanza del Signore tra i tripudi e al suono di corni, di trombe, di cembali, di liuti e di cetre che si facevano risonare.	28 Thus all Israel brought back the ark of the covenant of the LORD with joyful shouting, to the sound of horns, trumpets, and cymbals, and the music of harps and lyres.
29 Pervenuta che fu l'arca dell'alleanza del Signore fino alla città di Davide, Micol figlia di Saul guardando dalla finestra vide il re Davide, che saltava e danzava e lo disprezzò in cuor suo.	29 But as the ark of the covenant of the LORD was entering the City of David, Michal, daughter of Saul, looked down from her window, and when she saw King David leaping and dancing, she despised him in her heart.
