1 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:	1 Akkor az Úr ezt a szózatot intézte hozzám:
2 “Son of man, set your face toward Jerusalem, and pour in drops toward the sanctuaries, and prophesy against the soil of Israel.	2 »Emberfia, fordítsd arcodat dél felé és beszélj Dél ellen, jövendölj a Délvidék erdeje ellen.
3 And you shall say to the land of Israel: Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I am against you, and I will cast my sword from its sheath, and I will slay the just and the impious among you.	3 Ezt mondd a Délvidék erdejének: Halld az Úr szavát! Így szól az Úr Isten: Íme, tüzet gyújtok benned, és elégetek benned minden zöldellő fát és minden száraz fát. Senki sem oltja el a tűzvész lángját, s az egész terület, déltől északig, elhamvad majd benne.
4 But in as much as I have slain among you the just and the impious, for this reason my sword will go forth from its sheath against all flesh, from the south even to the north.	4 És meglátja majd minden ember, hogy én, az Úr, gyújtottam fel azt, és senki sem oltja el.«
5 So may all flesh know that I, the Lord, have led my sword out of its sheath irrevocably.	5 Ekkor így szóltam: »Jaj, jaj, jaj, Uram Isten! Ezek azt mondják majd rólam: ‘Vajon nem talányokban beszél-e ez?’«.
6 And as for you, son of man, groan in the breaking of your back, and groan in bitterness before them.	6 Ekkor az Úr ezt a szózatot intézte hozzám:
7 And when they will say to you, ‘Why are you groaning?’ you shall say: ‘On behalf of the report, For it is approaching. And every heart will waste away, and every hand will be broken, and every spirit will be weakened, and water will flow across every knee.’ Behold, it is approaching and it will happen, says the Lord God.”	7 »Emberfia, fordítsd arcodat Jeruzsálem ellen, beszélj a szentély ellen és jövendölj Izrael földje ellen.
8 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:	8 Ezt mondd Izrael földjének: Így szól az Úr Isten: Íme, én ellened fordulok! Kirántom hüvelyéből kardomat és megölöm benned az igazat és az istentelent!
9 “Son of man, prophesy, and you shall say: Thus says the Lord God: Speak: The sword! The sword has been sharpened and polished!	9 Hogy megöljem benned az igazat és az istentelent, azért megy ki hüvelyéből kardom minden ember ellen, déltől egészen északig;
10 It has been sharpened, so that it may cut down victims! It has been polished, so that it may shine! You are disturbing the scepter of my son. You have cut down every tree.	10 hadd tudja meg minden ember, hogy én, az Úr, rántottam ki hüvelyéből kardomat és az nem tér vissza többé!
11 And I have sent it to be made smooth, so that it may be handled. This sword has been sharpened, and it has been polished, so that it may be in the hand of the one who kills.	11 Te pedig, emberfia, sóhajts ágyékszakadásig, keserűséggel sóhajtozzál előttük.
12 Cry out and wail, O son of man! For this has been done among my people, this is among all the leaders of Israel, who have fled. They have been handed over to the sword, with my people. Therefore, slap your thigh,	12 És ha mondják neked: ‘Miért sóhajtozol?’ – mondd nekik: Egy hír miatt, mert eljön az; akkor majd elbágyad minden szív, ellankad minden kéz, elcsügged minden lélek, és minden térd vízben ázik; íme, eljön ez és meglesz« – mondja az Úr Isten.
13 for it has been tested. And this one, when he will have overthrown the scepter, will not be, says the Lord God.	13 Az Úr ezt a szózatot intézte hozzám:
14 You therefore, O son of man, prophesy, and strike hand against hand, and let the sword be doubled, and let the sword of the slain be tripled. This is the sword of the great slaughter, which causes them to be utterly stupefied,	14 »Emberfia, jövendölj és mondd: Így szól az Úr Isten: Beszélj! A kard, a kard meg van élesítve és ki van fenve!
15 and to waste away in heart, and which multiplies ruin. At all their gates, I have presented the consternation of the sword, which has been sharpened and polished so as to shine, which has been dressed for the slaughter.	15 Meg van élesítve, hogy leölje az áldozatokat; ki van fenve, hogy villogjon. Elmozdítod fiam jogarát, ledöntesz minden fát!
16 Be sharpened! Go to the right or to the left, whichever way is the desire of your face.	16 Azért adtam fenésre, hogy kézben tartsák; meg van élesítve ez a kard és ki van fenve, hogy az öldöklő kezében legyen.
17 And then I will clap hand against hand, and I will fulfill my indignation. I, the Lord, have spoken.”	17 Kiálts és jajgass, emberfia, mert az készen áll népem ellen, készen Izrael minden menekülő vezére ellen; a kard élére kerülnek népemmel együtt, ezért üss combodra.
18 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:	18 Mert megállta a próbát; s mi lesz, ha majd megszünteti a jogart, és az nem lesz többé? – mondja az Úr Isten. –
19 “And as for you, son of man, set for yourself two ways, so that the sword of the king of Babylon may approach. Both shall go forth from one land. And with a hand, he will grasp and cast lots; he will cast at the head of the way of the community.	19 Te pedig, emberfia, jövendölj, és tapsolj kezeddel; sújtson kétszer a kard, sújtson háromszor az öldöklő kard! A nagy öldöklés kardja ez, mely megrémíti őket,
20 You shall appoint a way, so that the sword may approach to Rabbah of the sons of Ammon, or to Judah, into Jerusalem, greatly fortified.	20 elbágyasztja szívüket, és naggyá teszi a pusztulást. Minden kapujukba odaállítom az éles kard rémségét, mely ki van fenve, hogy villogjon, melyet felkötnek, hogy öldököljön!
21 For the king of Babylon stood at the fork, at the head of the two ways, seeking divination, shuffling arrows; he inquired of idols, and he consulted entrails.	21 ‘Légy éles! Fordulj jobbra vagy balra, amerre csak kedve tartja élednek!’
22 To his right was set the divination over Jerusalem, to place battering rams so as to open a mouth for the slaughter, to lift up the voice of wailing, to place battering rams opposite the gates, to cast up a rampart, to build fortifications.	22 Mert én is tapsolok majd kezemmel és kitöltöm bosszúságomat; én, az Úr, szóltam!«
23 And he shall be, in their eyes, like someone consulting an oracle in vain, or imitating the leisure of Sabbaths. But he will call to mind iniquities, so that it will be captured.	23 Aztán az Úr ezt a szózatot intézte hozzám:
24 Therefore, thus says the Lord God: Because you have been remembered in your iniquities, and you have revealed your betrayals, and your sins have appeared within all your plans, because, I say, you have been remembered, you will be captured by a hand.	24 »Te pedig, emberfia, készíts magadnak két utat, hogy eljöjjön rajta Babilon királyának kardja; egy országból induljon ki mind a kettő. Faragj útjelzőt, a város felé vivő út kezdetén faragd ki.
25 But as for you, O impious leader of Israel, whose day has arrived that was predetermined at the time of iniquity:	25 Készíts utat, hogy eljöjjön a kard Ammon fiainak Rabbátja ellen, és Júda ellen, a jól megerősített Jeruzsálem ellen.
26 Thus says the Lord God: Take away the diadem, remove the crown. Is this not what has exalted the lowly one, and brought low the sublime one?	26 Mert Babilon királya megáll az út elágazásánál, a két út elején; jóslatot keres, rázza a nyilakat, megkérdezi a bálványokat, tanácsot keres a belső részekben.
27 Iniquity, iniquity, iniquity I will make it. And this was not done until the one arrived to whom judgment belongs, and I will hand it over to him.	27 Jeruzsálem ellen szól a sors, amely jobbkezébe jut, hogy faltörő kosokat állítson fel, hogy száját megnyissa az öldöklésre, hogy szavát csatakiáltásra emelje, hogy faltörő kosokat állítson a kapuk ellen, hogy töltést emeljen, hogy sáncokat építsen.
28 And as for you, son of man, prophesy, and say: Thus says the Lord God to the sons of Ammon, and to their disgrace, and you shall say: O sword, O sword, unsheathe yourself so as to slay; polish yourself so as to kill and to shine,	28 Mint valami hamis jóslat áll ez előttük; az ő szemükben még hetek és hetek állnak rendelkezésükre; ő azonban a gonoszságra gondol, hogy ostromra keljen.
29 while they look upon you in vain, and they divine lies, so that you may be given over to the necks of the wounded impious, whose day has arrived that was predetermined at the time of iniquity.	29 Ezért így szól az Úr Isten: Mivel emlékezetbe idéztétek gonoszságotokat és nyilvánosságra hoztátok törvényszegéseiteket, és bűneitek kitűnnek minden cselekedetetekből, mondom, mivelhogy emlékezetbe idéztétek ezeket, kézre kerültök!
30 Be returned to your sheath! I will judge you in the place where you were created, in the land of your nativity.	30 Te pedig, Izraelnek szentségtelen, gonosz fejedelme, kinek napja elérkezik a végső bűnhődés idején –
31 And I will pour out upon you my indignation. In the fire of my fury, I will fan you, and I will give you over to the hands of cruel men, who have devised destruction.	31 így szól az Úr Isten – rakd le a süveget, vedd le a koronát! Egyik sem lesz többé ugyanaz! Az alacsony a magasba kerül, és a magas a mélybe.
32 You will be food for the fire; your blood will be in the midst of the land; you will be delivered to oblivion. For I, the Lord, have spoken.”	32 Rommá, rommá, rommá teszem, és ez nem lesz többé, míg el nem jön Az, akit megillet az uralom, és neki nem adom.
	33 Te pedig, emberfia, jövendölj, és mondd: Így szól az Úr Isten Ammon fiaihoz és az ő gyalázkodásukhoz, és mondd: Kard! Kard! Kirántottalak hüvelyedből, hogy öldökölj, kifentelek, hogy gyilkolj és villogj,
	34 hogy mialatt rólad hiábavalóságokat látnak és hazugságokat jövendölnek, téged a megölésre szánt istentelenek nyakára tegyenek, akiknek napja elérkezik, mihelyt betelik a gonoszság kitűzött ideje.
	35 Térj vissza hüvelyedbe! Azon a helyen, ahol megteremtettek, a saját szülőföldeden ítéllek meg,
	36 és kiöntöm rád bosszúságomat. Haragom tüzével fújok rád és oktalan emberek kezébe adlak, akik a végpusztulást kovácsolják.
	37 A tűznek eledele leszel, folyni fog véred az ország közepén, feledésbe jutsz, mert én, az Úr, szóltam!«
