Leviticus 9

1 Then, the eighth day having arrived, Moses called Aaron and his sons, and those greater by birth from Israel, and he said to Aaron:	1 Le huitième jour, Moïse appela Aaron et ses fils, ainsi que les anciens d’Israël.
2 “Take a calf for sin from the herd, and a ram as a holocaust, both immaculate, and offer them in the sight of the Lord.	2 Il dit à Aaron: “Prends un jeune veau pour le sacrifice pour le péché, et un bélier pour l’holocauste, tous les deux sans défaut; tu les offriras devant Yahvé.
3 And to the sons of Israel, you shall say: ‘Take a he-goat for sin, and a calf as well as a lamb, both one-year-old and without blemish, as a holocaust.	3 Puis tu diras aux Israélites: Prenez un bouc pour le sacrifice pour le péché; un veau et un agneau âgés d’un an, sans défaut, pour l’holocauste;
4 Take also an ox and a ram for peace offerings. And immolate them before the Lord, offering with the sacrifice of each one fine wheat flour sprinkled with oil. For today the Lord will appear to you.’ ”	4 un bœuf et un bélier qui seront immolés devant Yahvé pour le sacrifice de communion, et enfin une offrande pétrie à l’huile; car aujourd’hui Yahvé se manifestera devant vous.”
5 And so they brought everything that Moses had ordered before the door of the tabernacle, where, when all the multitude stood together,	5 Ils apportèrent devant la Tente de Réunion tout ce que Moïse avait commandé, et toute la communauté s’approcha et se tint devant Yahvé.
6 Moses said: “This is the word, which the Lord has instructed. Accomplish it, and his glory will appear to you.”	6 Moïse dit alors: “Voici ce que Yahvé vous demande de faire si vous voulez que la Gloire de Yahvé vous apparaisse.”
7 And he said to Aaron: “Approach toward the altar, and immolate on behalf of your sin. Offer the holocaust, and pray for yourself and for the people. And when you have slain the victim for the people, pray for them, just as the Lord has instructed.”	7 Puis Moïse dit à Aaron: “Approche-toi de l’autel, offre ton sacrifice pour le péché et ton holocauste de façon à faire l’expiation pour toi et pour le peuple, présente l’offrande du peuple et fais l’expiation pour lui, comme Yahvé l’a ordonné.”
8 And immediately Aaron, approaching toward the altar, immolated the calf for his sin.	8 Aaron s’approcha donc de l’autel, il égorgea le veau du sacrifice pour son péché personnel.
9 And his sons brought its blood to him, and dipping his finger in it, he touched the horns of the altar, and he poured out the remainder at its base.	9 Les fils d’Aaron lui présentèrent le sang, il y trempa son doigt, en mit sur les cornes de l’autel et en versa le reste au pied de l’autel.
10 And the fat, and the little kidneys, and the mesh of the liver, which are for sin, he burned upon the altar, just as the Lord had instructed Moses.	10 Puis il fit fumer sur l’autel la graisse, les rognons et l’enveloppe du foie de la victime pour le péché, comme Yahvé avait ordonné de le faire.
11 Yet truly, the flesh and its skins he burned with fire beyond the camp.	11 Mais la chair et la peau, il les brûla hors du camp.
12 He also immolated the victim of holocaust. And his sons brought its blood to him, which he poured out all around the altar.	12 Ensuite il égorgea la victime pour l’holocauste, et les fils d’Aaron lui présentèrent le sang qu’il répandit sur l’autel et autour.
13 And when the victim itself was cut into pieces, they brought him the head and each of the limbs, all of which he burned with fire upon the altar,	13 Ils lui présentèrent l’holocauste coupé en morceaux avec la tête, et il les fit fumer sur l’autel.
14 having first washed the intestines and the feet with water.	14 Il lava l’intestin et les pattes et les fit fumer sur l’autel, par-dessus l’holocauste.
15 And making an offering for the sin of the people, he slew the he-goat. And expiating the altar,	15 Il présenta alors l’offrande pour le peuple. Il prit le bouc du sacrifice pour le péché du peuple, il l’égorgea et fit l’expiation comme il l’avait fait pour le premier sacrifice.
16 he accomplished the holocaust,	16 Il offrit ensuite l’holocauste et le sacrifia selon le même rite.
17 adding to it the sacrifice of the libations, which are to be offered together, and burning them upon the altar, separately from the ceremonies of the morning holocaust.	17 Il présenta l’offrande, en prit une poignée et la brûla sur l’autel, par-dessus l’holocauste du matin.
18 He also immolated the ox, as well as the ram, as peace offerings for the people. And his sons brought him the blood, which he poured out upon the altar all around.	18 Ensuite il égorgea le taureau et le bélier, en sacrifice de communion pour le peuple. Les fils d’Aaron lui présentèrent le sang qu’il versa sur l’autel et autour.
19 Then the fat of the ox, and the rump of the ram, and the two little kidneys with their fat, and the mesh of the liver,	19 Quant à la graisse du taureau et du bélier, la queue, la graisse qui enveloppe les entrailles, les rognons et l’enveloppe du foie,
20 they placed upon the breasts. And when the fat had been burned upon the altar,	20 avec la graisse de la poitrine, il plaça le tout sur l’autel et le fit brûler.
21 Aaron separated their breasts and the right shoulders, lifting them up in the sight of the Lord, as Moses had instructed.	21 Aaron balança ensuite devant Yahvé les poitrines et la cuisse droite, en offrande balancée, selon l’ordre de Moïse.
22 And extending his hands to the people, he blessed them. And so, the victims for sin, and the holocausts, and the peace offerings being completed, he descended.	22 Aaron leva les mains vers le peuple et le bénit, puis il descendit, après avoir offert le sacrifice pour le péché, l’holocauste et le sacrifice de communion.
23 Then Moses and Aaron entered the tabernacle of the testimony, and afterwards came out and blessed the people. And the glory of the Lord appeared to the entire multitude.	23 Cela fait, Moïse et Aaron entrèrent dans la Tente du Rendez-Vous, puis ils en ressortirent pour bénir le peuple. Alors la Gloire de Yahvé apparut à tout le peuple:
24 And, behold, a fire from the Lord devoured the holocaust, and the fat which was on the altar. When the crowd had seen this, they praised the Lord, falling on their faces.	24 un feu sortit de devant Yahvé, qui dévora sur l’autel l’holocauste et les graisses. À cette vue, tout le peuple poussa des cris de joie et se prosterna face contre terre.
