1 A Psalm of David, in commemoration of the Sabbath.	1 - Salmo di David. Per la commemorazione. Per il sabbato.
2 O Lord, do not rebuke me in your fury, nor chastise me in your wrath.	2 Signore, nel tuo sdegno, non mi rimproverare, e nell' ira tua non mi castigare.
3 For your arrows have been driven into me, and your hand has been confirmed over me.	3 Perché le frecce son confitte in me, e hai aggravato su me la tua mano.
4 There is no health in my flesh before the face of your wrath. There is no peace for my bones before the face of my sins.	4 Non v'è sanità nella mia carne a cagion dell'ira tua, non v'ha pace per le mie ossa a cagione de' miei peccati.
5 For my iniquities have walked over my head, and they have been like a heavy burden weighing upon me.	5 Perché le mie iniquità han sorpassato il mio capo, e come grave pondo si sono aggravate, troppo per me!
6 My sores have putrefied and been corrupted before the face of my foolishness.	6 Sono imputridite e marcite le mie piagheper la mia stoltezza.
7 I have become miserable, and I have been bent down, even to the end. I have walked with contrition all day long.	7 Misero io sono e curvo sino all'estremo, tutto il dì me ne vo contristato.
8 For my loins have been filled with illusions, and there is no health in my flesh.	8 I miei lombi son pieni di fiamme, e non v'è sanità nella mia carne.
9 I have been afflicted and greatly humbled. I bellowed from the groaning of my heart.	9 Son abbattuto e fiaccato oltre modo, ruggisco per il gemito del mio cuore.
10 O Lord, all my desire is before you, and my groaning before you has not been hidden.	10 Signore, dinanzi a te è ogni mio desiderio, e il mio sospiro a te non è nascosto!
11 My heart has been disturbed. My strength has abandoned me, and the light of my eyes has abandoned me, and it is not with me.	11 Il mio cuore è in subbuglio, m'ha abbandonato il mio vigore, e il lume degli occhi miei anch'esso non è [più] con me.
12 My friends and my neighbors have drawn near and stood against me. And those who were next to me stood far apart. And those who sought my soul used violence.	12 I miei amici e compagni di fronte alla mia piaga si fermano, e i miei prossimi da lungi si stanno.
13 And those who sought evil accusations against me were speaking emptiness. And they practiced deceitfulness all day long.	13 E tendon lacci quei che mirano alla mia vita, e quei che cercano il mio danno propalan falsità, e inganni tutto il dì van meditando.
14 But, like someone deaf, I did not hear. And I was like someone mute, not opening his mouth.	14 Ma io [son] come un sordo, non dò ascolto, e son come un muto che non apre la sua bocca.
15 And I became like a man who does not hear, and who has no reproofs in his mouth.	15 Son diventato come un uom che non ode, e che non ha repliche sulla sua bocca.
16 For in you, Lord, I have hoped. You will listen to me, O Lord my God.	16 Perchè in te, o Signore, io spero: tu m'esaudirai, o Signore Dio mio.
17 For I said, “Lest at any time, my enemies might rejoice over me,” and, “While my feet are being shaken, they have spoken great things against me.”	17 Ho detto: «Non si rallegrin di me i miei nemici, che [già] al vacillar de' miei piedi fan la voce grossa contro di me!».
18 For I have been prepared for scourges, and my sorrow is ever before me.	18 Perchè ai flagelli sono esposto, e il mio dolore è sempre dinanzi a me.
19 For I will announce my iniquity, and I will think about my sin.	19 Giacchè l'iniquità mia io confesso, e m'angustio per il mio peccato.
20 But my enemies live, and they have been stronger than me. And those who have wrongfully hated me have been multiplied.	20 E i miei nemici vivono e si fan più forti di me, e si moltiplicano quei che m'odiano ingiustamente.
21 Those who render evil for good have dragged me down, because I followed goodness.	21 Quei che rendon male per bene, m'attaccano perch'io vo dietro al bene.
22 Do not forsake me, O Lord my God. Do not depart from me.	22 Non m'abbandonare, Signore: Dio mio, non t'allontanar da me.
23 Be attentive to my help, O Lord, the God of my salvation.	23 Accorri in mio aiuto, o Signore, Dio della mia salvezza!
