CATHOLIC PUBLIC DOMAINVULGATA
1 A Canticle in steps. When the Lord turned back the captivity of Zion, we became like those who are consoled.1 Canticum graduum. In convertendo Dominus captivitatem Sion,
facti sumus sicut consolati.
2 Then our mouth was filled with gladness and our tongue with exultation. Then they will say among the nations: “The Lord has done great things for them.”2 Tunc repletum est gaudio os nostrum,
et lingua nostra exsultatione.
Tunc dicent inter gentes :
Magnificavit Dominus facere cum eis.
3 The Lord has done great things for us. We have become joyful.3 Magnificavit Dominus facere nobiscum ;
facti sumus lætantes.
4 Convert our captivity, O Lord, like a torrent in the south.4 Converte, Domine, captivitatem nostram,
sicut torrens in austro.
5 Those who sow in tears shall reap in exultation.5 Qui seminant in lacrimis,
in exsultatione metent.
6 When departing, they went forth and wept, sowing their seeds.6 Euntes ibant et flebant,
mittentes semina sua.
Venientes autem venient cum exsultatione,
portantes manipulos suos.
7 But when returning, they will arrive with exultation, carrying their sheaves.
