Psalms 125

1 A Canticle in steps. When the Lord turned back the captivity of Zion, we became like those who are consoled.	1 Cantique des montées. Qui s'appuie sur Yahvé ressemble au mont Sion: rien ne l'ébranle, il eststable pour toujours.
2 Then our mouth was filled with gladness and our tongue with exultation. Then they will say among the nations: “The Lord has done great things for them.”	2 Jérusalem! les montagnes l'entourent, ainsi Yahvé entoure son peuple dès maintenant et pourtoujours.
3 The Lord has done great things for us. We have become joyful.	3 Jamais un sceptre impie ne tombera sur la part des justes, de peur que ne tende au crime la maindes justes.
4 Convert our captivity, O Lord, like a torrent in the south.	4 Fais du bien, Yahvé, aux gens de bien, qui ont au coeur la droiture.
5 Those who sow in tears shall reap in exultation.	5 Mais les tortueux, les dévoyés, qu'il les repousse, Yahvé, avec les malfaisants! Paix sur Israël!
6 When departing, they went forth and wept, sowing their seeds.
7 But when returning, they will arrive with exultation, carrying their sheaves.
