Exodus 21

1 “These are the judgments which you shall place before them:	1 "Estas são as leis que exporás {aos israelitas}:
2 If you buy a Hebrew servant, six years shall he serve you; in the seventh, he shall depart freely, without charge.	2 quando comprares um escravo hebreu, ele servirá seis anos; no sétimo sairá livre, sem pagar nada.
3 With whatever clothing he arrived, with the like let him depart. If he has a wife, his wife also shall depart, at the same time.	3 Se entrou sozinho, sozinho sairá; se tiver mulher, sua mulher partirá com ele.
4 But if his lord gave him a wife, and she has borne sons and daughters, the woman and her children shall belong to her lord. Yet still, he himself will go out with his clothing.	4 Mas, se foi o seu senhor que lhe deu uma mulher, e esta deu à luz filhos e filhas, a mulher e seus filhos serão propriedade do senhor, e ele partirá sozinho.
5 And if the servant will say, ‘I love my lord, and my wife and children, I will not depart freely,’	5 Porém, se o escravo disser: ?Eu amo meu senhor, minha mulher e meus filhos; não quero ser alforriado?,
6 then his lord shall make an offering for him to the heavens, and it shall be applied to the door and the posts, and he will pierce his ear with an awl. And he shall be his servant in perpetuity.	6 seu senhor o levará então diante de Deus e o fará aproximar-se do batente ou da ombreira da porta, e furar-lhe-á a orelha com uma sovela; desta sorte o escravo estará para sempre a seu serviço.
7 If anyone sells his daughter to be a servant, she shall not depart as a female servant is accustomed to go out.	7 Se um homem tiver vendido sua filha para ser escrava, ela não sairá em liberdade nas mesmas condições que o escravo.
8 If she displeases the eyes of her lord, to whom she had been delivered, he shall dismiss her. But he shall have no authority to sell her to a foreign people, even if he despises her.	8 Se desagradar ao seu senhor, que a havia destinado para si, ele a fará resgatar; mas não poderá vendê-la a estrangeiros depois de lhe ter sido infiel.
9 But if he has betrothed her to his son, he shall treat her according to the custom with daughters.	9 Se a destinar ao seu filho, tratá-la-á segundo o direito das filhas.
10 And if he takes another for him, he shall provide to the maiden a marriage, and clothing, and he shall not refuse the price of her chastity.	10 Se tomar outra mulher, não diminuirá nada à primeira, quanto à alimentação, aos vestidos e ao direito conjugal.
11 If he does not do these three things, she shall depart freely, without money.	11 Se lhe recusar uma destas três coisas, ela poderá partir livre, gratuitamente, sem pagar nada."
12 Whoever strikes a man, intending to murder, shall be put to death.	12 "Aquele que ferir mortalmente um homem, será morto.
13 But if he did not lie in wait for him, but God delivered him into his hands, then I will appoint for you a place to which he must flee.	13 Porém, se nada premeditou, e Deus o fez cair em suas mãos, eu lhe fixarei um lugar onde possa refugiar-se.
14 If someone murders his neighbor with deliberation, by lying in wait, you shall tear him away from my altar, so that he may die.	14 Mas, se alguém, por maldade, armar ciladas para matar o seu próximo, tirá-lo-ás até mesmo do meu altar, para matá-lo.
15 Whoever strikes his father or mother shall die a death.	15 Aquele que ferir seu pai ou sua mãe, será morto.
16 Whoever will have stolen a man and sold him, having been convicted of the crime, shall be put to death.	16 Aquele que furtar um homem, e o tiver vendido, ou se este for encontrado em suas mãos, será morto.
17 Whoever speaks evil of his father or mother shall die a death.	17 Quem amaldiçoar seu pai ou sua mãe, será punido de morte.
18 If men will have quarreled, and one of them has struck his neighbor with a stone or a fist, and he does not die, but lies in bed,	18 Quando, em uma contenda entre dois homens, um dos dois ferir o outro com uma pedra ou com o punho, sem matá-lo, mas o obrigar a ficar de cama,
19 if he gets up again and can walk outside on his staff, he who struck him will be innocent, but only if he makes sufficient restitution for his deeds and for the cost of the physicians.	19 aquele que feriu não será punido, se o outro se levantar e puder passear fora com seu bastão. Mas indenizá-lo-á pelo tempo que perdeu e os remédios que gastou.
20 Whoever strikes his male or female servant with a staff, and if they have died by his hands, he shall be guilty of a crime.	20 Se um homem ferir seu escravo ou sua escrava com um bastão, de modo que ele morra sob sua mão, será punido.
21 But if he survives for one day or two, he shall not be subject to punishment, because it is his money.	21 Se o escravo, porém, sobreviver um dia ou dois, não será punido, porque ele é propriedade do seu senhor.
22 If men will have quarreled, and one of them has struck a pregnant woman, and as a result she miscarries, but she herself survives, he shall be subject to as much damage as the husband of the woman shall petition from him, or as arbitrators shall judge.	22 Se homens brigarem, e acontecer que venham a ferir uma mulher grávida, e esta der à luz sem nenhum dano, eles serão passíveis de uma indenização imposta pelo marido da mulher, e que pagarão diante dos juízes.
23 But if her death will have followed, he will repay a life for a life,	23 Mas, se houver outros danos, urge dar vida por vida,
24 an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, a hand for a hand, a foot for a foot,	24 olho por olho, dente por dente, mão por mão, pé por pé,
25 a scrape for a scrape, a wound for a wound, a bruise for a bruise.	25 queimadura por queimadura, ferida por ferida, golpe por golpe.
26 If anyone will have struck the eye of his male or female servant, having left them with one eye, he shall release them freely, because of the eye that he has put out.	26 Se um homem, ferindo seu escravo ou sua escrava, atinge-lhe o olho e o faz perdê-lo, deixá-lo-á ir livre em compensação de seu olho.
27 Likewise, if he knocks out a tooth of his male or female servant, he shall similarly release them freely.	27 E, se lhe deitar fora um dente, deixá-lo-á ir livre em compensação do dente.
28 If an ox has struck a man or a woman with his horn, and if they die, it shall be stoned. And its flesh shall not be eaten; also, the owner of the ox will be innocent.	28 Se um boi ferir mortalmente um homem ou uma mulher com as pontas dos chifres, será apedrejado e não se comerá a sua carne; mas o dono do boi não será punido.
29 But if the ox had been pushing with his horn, from yesterday and the day before, and they warned his owner, but he did not confine it, and it will have killed a man or a woman, then the ox shall be stoned, and his owner shall be killed.	29 Porém, se o boi era já acostumado a dar chifradas, e o dono, tendo sido avisado, não o vigiou, o boi será apedrejado, se matar um homem ou uma mulher, e seu dono também morrerá.
30 But if they have imposed a price on him, he shall give, in exchange for his life, whatever is asked.	30 Se, para resgatar sua vida, lhe for imposta uma quitação, ele deverá dar todo o preço que lhe tiver sido imposto.
31 Likewise, if it has struck a son or a daughter with its horns, it shall be subject to a similar verdict.	31 Se o boi ferir um filho ou uma filha, aplicar-se-á a mesma lei.
32 If it attacks a male or female servant, he shall give thirty shekels of silver to their lord, yet truly the ox shall be stoned.	32 Mas, se ferir um escravo ou uma escrava, pagar-se-á ao seu senhor trinta siclos de prata, e o boi será apedrejado.
33 If a man digs or opens a cistern, and does not cover it, and an ox or a donkey falls into it,	33 Se alguém deixar uma cisterna aberta ou cavar uma sem cobri-la, e nela cair um boi ou um jumento, o proprietário da cisterna pagará uma indenização:
34 then the owner of the cistern shall repay the price of the beasts, and what is dead will belong to him.	34 reembolsará em dinheiro o proprietário do animal morto, e este será seu.
35 If the ox of a stranger wounds the ox of another, and it has died, then they shall sell the live ox and divide the price, but the carcass of the dead one they shall distribute between them.	35 Se o boi de alguém der uma chifrada no boi de um outro, e este vier a morrer, venderão o boi vivo e repartirão o valor: repartirão igualmente o boi morto.
36 But if he knew that his ox had pushed with its horns, yesterday and the day before, and its owner did not confine it, then he shall repay an ox for an ox, and he will receive the whole carcass.”	36 Mas, se o boi era já acostumado a dar chifradas, seu dono, que não o vigiou, pagará boi por boi, e receberá o animal morto."
