1 In the seventeenth year of Pekah, the son of Remaliah: Ahaz, the son of Jotham, reigned as king of Judah.	1 Nel XVII anno di Facee figliuolo di Romelia regnò Acaz figliuolo di Ioatam re di Giuda.
2 Ahaz was twenty years old when he had begun to reign, and he reigned for sixteen years in Jerusalem. He did not do what was pleasing in the sight of the Lord, his God, as his father David did.	2 Ed era Acaz di XX anni, quando incominciò a regnare; e XVI anni regnò in Ierusalem; e non fece quello che piacesse nel cospetto di Dio suo Signore, sì come David suo padre.
3 Instead, he walked in the way of the kings of Israel. Moreover, he even consecrated his son, making him pass through fire, in accord with the idols of the nations that the Lord destroyed before the sons of Israel.	3 Ma egli andò per la via de' re d' Israel; e sopra tutto questo consecrò il suo figliuolo, trasportandolo per lo fuoco secondo gl' idoli delle genti, le quali lo Signore dissipò in cospetto de' figliuoli d' Israel.
4 Also, he was immolating victims, and burning incense, in the high places, and on the hills, and under every leafy tree.	4 E sacrificava vittime, e offeriva incenso in li luoghi alti, e nei poggi, e sotto ogni arboro fronduto.
5 Then Rezin, the king of Syria, and Pekah, the son of Remaliah, the king of Israel, ascended to do battle against Jerusalem. And they besieged Ahaz, but they were not able to overcome him.	5 E allora andò Rasin re di Siria, e Facee figliuolo di Romelia re d' Israel, in Ierusalem a combattere; e avendo assediato Acaz, nol poterono vincere.
6 At that time, Rezin, the king of Syria, restored Elath to Syria, and he expelled the Judeans from Elath. And the Idumeans went into Elath, and they have lived there, even to this day.	6 In quello tempo Rasin re di Siria restituì Aila ai Siri, e cacciò via i Giudei di Aila; e i (Siri e) Idumei vennero in Aila, e abitarono ivi insino a questo die.
7 Then Ahaz sent messengers to Tiglath-pileser, the king of the Assyrians, saying: “I am your servant, and I am your son. Ascend and accomplish my salvation from the hand of the king of Syria, and from the hand of the king of Israel, who have risen up together against me.”	7 E Acaz mandò messaggi a Teglatfalasar re degli Assirii dicendo: io sono tuo figliuolo e tuo servo; vieni e liberami delle mani del re di Siria, e delle mani del re d' Israel, i quali si sono levati contro a me.
8 And when he had collected the silver and the gold that could be found in the house of the Lord, and in the treasuries of the king, he sent it as a gift to the king of the Assyrians.	8 E tolto l'ariento e l'oro, che si puotè trovare nella casa di Dio e ne' tesori del re, mandò presenti al re degli Assirii.
9 And he agreed to his will. For the king of the Assyrians ascended against Damascus, and he laid waste to it. And he carried away its inhabitants to Cyrene. But Rezin he killed.	9 Il quale consenti alla sua volontà; e ascendeo il re degli Assirii in Damasco, e disfecela; e menò gli abitatori di Damasco in Cirene, e uccise Rasin.
10 And king Ahaz traveled to Damascus to meet Tiglath-pileser, the king of the Assyrians. And when he had seen the altar of Damascus, king Ahaz sent to Uriah, the priest, its pattern and likeness, according to all of its work.	10 E Acaz re venne incontro a Teglatfalasar re degli Assirii in Damasco; e veduto l'altare di Damasco, mandoe Acaz ad Uria sacerdote lo esempio di quello, e la similitudine secondo tutto quanto il suo lavorìo.
11 And Uriah, the priest, constructed an altar in accord with all that king Ahaz had commanded from Damascus. Uriah, the priest, did so, until king Ahaz arrived from Damascus.	11 E Uria sacerdote fece l'altare; secondo tutto quello che il re Acaz avea comandato di Damasco, così fece Uria sacerdote, per fino che venisse il re Acaz di Damasco.
12 And when the king had arrived from Damascus, he saw the altar, and he venerated it. And he went up and immolated holocausts, with his own sacrifice.	12 E ritornato il re di Damasco, vidde l'altare, e fecegli reverenza; e ascendeo, e offerse lo olocausto e i suoi sacrificii.
13 And he offered libations, and he poured out the blood of the peace offerings, which he had offered, upon the altar.	13 E sacrificò li sacrificii, e isparse il sangue per la pace, il quale avea offerto sopra l'altare.
14 But the altar of brass, which was before the Lord, he took away from the face of the temple, and from the place of the altar, and from the place of the temple of the Lord. And he positioned it at the side of the altar, toward the north.	14 E l'altare del metallo, ch' era nel cospetto di Dio, rimosse dalla faccia del tempio, e dal luogo dell' altare, e dal luogo del tempio del Signore; e puoselo da lato dell' altare e dalla parte d'acquilone.
15 Also, king Ahaz instructed Uriah, the priest, saying: “Upon the great altar, offer the morning holocaust, and the evening sacrifice, and the holocaust of the king, and his sacrifice, and the holocaust of the entire people of the land, and their sacrifices. But their libations, and all the blood of the holocaust, and all the blood of the victim, you shall pour out upon it. Then truly, the altar of brass shall be prepared for use at my will.”	15 E comandò il re Acaz ad Uria sacerdote, dicendo: sopra l'altare maggiore offerisci lo olocausto mattutino, e il sacrificio del vespro, e lo olocausto del re, e lo suo sacrificio, e lo olocausto del popolo della terra, e loro sacrificio e libamenti; e tutto [il sangue del] lo olocausto, e tutto il sangue delle vittime spargerai sopra quello; e l'altare del metallo sarà apparecchiato alla mia volontà.
16 And so Uriah, the priest, acted in accord with all that king Ahaz had instructed to him.	16 E fece Uria sacerdote secondo tutto ciò che il re Acaz gli avea comandato.
17 Then king Ahaz took away the engraved bases, and the basin that was upon them. And he took down the sea from the bronze oxen, which were holding it up. And he positioned it upon a layer of pavement stone.	17 E tolse il re Acaz le basi celate, e il lutero ch' era di sopra; e il mare levò dai suoi buoi del metallo i quali il sostentavano, e puoselo in su il pavimento il quale era seliciato di pietre.
18 Also, the canopy for the Sabbath, which he had built in the temple, and the exterior entrance of the king, he converted into the temple of the Lord, because of the king of the Assyrians.	18 E il Musac del sabato, il quale era edificato nel tempio, e l'entrata del re di fuori, fu convertita nel tempio di Dio per lo re degli Assirii.
19 Now the rest of the words of Ahaz that he did, have these not been written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Judah?	19 Tutte le altre cose de' fatti di Acaz, e tutto quello ch' egli fece, non sono loro scritte nel libro de' fatti de' tempi de' re di Giuda?
20 And Ahaz slept with his fathers, and he was buried with them in the city of David. And Hezekiah, his son, reigned in his place.	20 E dormi Acaz colli padri suoi, e fu seppellito con esso loro nella città di David; e regnò Ezechia suo figliuolo per lui.
