2 Kings 16

1 In the seventeenth year of Pekah, the son of Remaliah: Ahaz, the son of Jotham, reigned as king of Judah.	1 En la dix-septième année de Péqah fils de Remalyahu, Achaz fils de Yotam devint roi de Juda.
2 Ahaz was twenty years old when he had begun to reign, and he reigned for sixteen years in Jerusalem. He did not do what was pleasing in the sight of the Lord, his God, as his father David did.	2 Achaz avait vingt ans à son avènement et il régna seize ans à Jérusalem. Il ne fit pas ce qui estagréable à Yahvé, son Dieu, comme avait fait David son ancêtre.
3 Instead, he walked in the way of the kings of Israel. Moreover, he even consecrated his son, making him pass through fire, in accord with the idols of the nations that the Lord destroyed before the sons of Israel.	3 Il imita la conduite des rois d'Israël, et même il fit passer son fils par le feu, selon les coutumesabominables des nations que Yahvé avait chassées devant les Israélites.
4 Also, he was immolating victims, and burning incense, in the high places, and on the hills, and under every leafy tree.	4 Il offrit des sacrifices et de l'encens sur les hauts lieux, sur les collines et sous tout arbre verdoyant.
5 Then Rezin, the king of Syria, and Pekah, the son of Remaliah, the king of Israel, ascended to do battle against Jerusalem. And they besieged Ahaz, but they were not able to overcome him.	5 C'est alors que Raçôn, roi d'Aram, et Péqah fils de Remalyahu, roi d'Israël, partirent en guerrecontre Jérusalem, ils l'assiégèrent mais ils ne purent pas la réduire.
6 At that time, Rezin, the king of Syria, restored Elath to Syria, and he expelled the Judeans from Elath. And the Idumeans went into Elath, and they have lived there, even to this day.	6 (En ce temps-là, le roi d'Edom recouvra Elat pour Edom; il expulsa les Judéens d'Elat, les Edomitesy entrèrent et ils y sont restés jusqu'à ce jour.)
7 Then Ahaz sent messengers to Tiglath-pileser, the king of the Assyrians, saying: “I am your servant, and I am your son. Ascend and accomplish my salvation from the hand of the king of Syria, and from the hand of the king of Israel, who have risen up together against me.”	7 Alors Achaz envoya des messagers à Téglat-Phalasar, roi d'Assyrie, pour lui dire: "Je suis tonserviteur et ton fils! Viens me délivrer des mains du roi d'Aram et du roi d'Israël, qui se sont levés contre moi."
8 And when he had collected the silver and the gold that could be found in the house of the Lord, and in the treasuries of the king, he sent it as a gift to the king of the Assyrians.	8 Achaz prit l'argent et l'or qu'on trouva dans le Temple de Yahvé et dans les trésors du palais royal etenvoya le tout en présent au roi d'Assyrie.
9 And he agreed to his will. For the king of the Assyrians ascended against Damascus, and he laid waste to it. And he carried away its inhabitants to Cyrene. But Rezin he killed.	9 Le roi d'Assyrie l'exauça, il monta contre Damas et s'en empara; il déporta les habitants à Qir et fitmourir Raçôn.
10 And king Ahaz traveled to Damascus to meet Tiglath-pileser, the king of the Assyrians. And when he had seen the altar of Damascus, king Ahaz sent to Uriah, the priest, its pattern and likeness, according to all of its work.	10 Le roi Achaz alla à Damas pour rencontrer Téglat-Phalasar, roi d'Assyrie, et il vit l'autel qui était àDamas. 11 And Uriah, the priest, constructed an altar in accord with all that king Ahaz had commanded from Damascus. Uriah, the priest, did so, until king Ahaz arrived from Damascus.	11 Le prêtre Uriyya construisit l'autel; toutes les instructions que le roi Achaz avait envoyées deDamas, le prêtre Uriyya les exécuta avant que le roi Achaz revînt de Damas.
12 And when the king had arrived from Damascus, he saw the altar, and he venerated it. And he went up and immolated holocausts, with his own sacrifice.	12 Lorsque le roi Achaz arriva de Damas, il vit l'autel, il s'en approcha et il y monta.
13 And he offered libations, and he poured out the blood of the peace offerings, which he had offered, upon the altar.	13 Il fit fumer sur l'autel son holocauste et ses oblations, versa sa libation et répandit le sang de sessacrifices de communion.
14 But the altar of brass, which was before the Lord, he took away from the face of the temple, and from the place of the altar, and from the place of the temple of the Lord. And he positioned it at the side of the altar, toward the north.	14 Quant à l'autel qui était devant Yahvé, il le déplaça de devant le Temple, où il était entre le nouvelautel et le Temple de Yahvé, et le mit à côté du nouvel autel, vers le nord.
15 Also, king Ahaz instructed Uriah, the priest, saying: “Upon the great altar, offer the morning holocaust, and the evening sacrifice, and the holocaust of the king, and his sacrifice, and the holocaust of the entire people of the land, and their sacrifices. But their libations, and all the blood of the holocaust, and all the blood of the victim, you shall pour out upon it. Then truly, the altar of brass shall be prepared for use at my will.”	15 Le roi Achaz fit ce commandement au prêtre Uriyya: "C'est sur le grand autel que tu feras fumerl'holocauste du matin et l'oblation du soir, l'holocauste du roi et son oblation, l'holocauste, l'oblation et leslibations de tout le peuple; tu répandras sur lui tout le sang des holocaustes et des sacrifices. Pour ce quiconcerne l'autel de bronze, je vais m'en occuper."
16 And so Uriah, the priest, acted in accord with all that king Ahaz had instructed to him.	16 Le prêtre Uriyya fit tout ce que lui avait ordonné le roi Achaz.
17 Then king Ahaz took away the engraved bases, and the basin that was upon them. And he took down the sea from the bronze oxen, which were holding it up. And he positioned it upon a layer of pavement stone.	17 Le roi Achaz mit en pièces les bases roulantes, il en détacha les traverses et les bassins, il descenditla Mer de bronze de dessus les boeufs qui la supportaient et la posa sur le pavé de pierres.
18 Also, the canopy for the Sabbath, which he had built in the temple, and the exterior entrance of the king, he converted into the temple of the Lord, because of the king of the Assyrians.	18 En considération du roi d'Assyrie, il supprima du Temple de Yahvé l'estrade du trône, qu'on y avaitconstruite, et l'entrée extérieure du roi.
19 Now the rest of the words of Ahaz that he did, have these not been written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Judah?	19 Le reste de l'histoire d'Achaz, et tout ce qu'il a fait, cela n'est-il pas écrit au livre des Annales desrois de Juda?
20 And Ahaz slept with his fathers, and he was buried with them in the city of David. And Hezekiah, his son, reigned in his place.	20 Achaz se coucha avec ses pères, on l'enterra dans la Cité de David et son fils Ezéchias régna à saplace.
