Genesis 22

1 After these things occurred, God tested Abraham, and he said to him, “Abraham, Abraham.” And he answered, “Here I am.”	1 Avvenute che furono queste cose, Dio mise alla prova Abramo e gli disse: « Abramo, Abramo ». Ed egli rispose: « Eccomi ».
2 He said to him: “Take your only begotten son Isaac, whom you love, and go into the land of vision. And there you shall offer him as a holocaust upon one of the mountains, which I will show to you.”	2 E Dio a lui: « Prendi il tuo figliolo unigenito, il tuo diletto Isacco e vai nella terra della visione, ove lo offrirai in olocausto sopra uno dei monti che io ti dirò ».
3 And so Abraham, getting up in the night, harnessed his donkey, taking with him two youths, and his son Isaac. And when he had cut wood for the holocaust, he traveled toward the place, as God had instructed him.	3 E Abramo, levatosi quando era ancor notte, mise il basto al suo asino, prese con sè due servi e Isacco suo figliolo, e, tagliate le legna per l'olocausto, s'incamminò verso il luogo che Dio gli aveva detto.
4 Then, on the third day, lifting up his eyes, he saw the place at a distance.	4 E al terzo giorno, alzati gli occhi, vide da lungi quel luogo;
5 And he said to his servants: “Wait here with the donkey. I and the boy will hurry further ahead to that place. After we have worshipped, will return to you.”	5 e disse ai suoi servi: «Aspettate qui coll'asino: io e il ragazzo andremo fin là, e fatta che avremo l'adorazione, torneremo da voi ».
6 He also took the wood for the holocaust, and he imposed it upon his son Isaac. And he himself carried in his hands fire and a sword. And as the two continued on together,	6 Prese le legna per l'olocausto, le pose ad dosso ad Isacco suo figliolo; egli invece colle sue mani portava il fuoco e il coltello. E mentre camminavano tutt'e due assieme,
7 Isaac said to his father, “My father.” And he answered, “What do you want, son?” “Behold,” he said, “fire and wood. Where is the victim for the holocaust?”	7 Isacco disse a suo padre: « Padre mio ». Ed egli rispose: « Che vuoi, figliolo ? » « Ecco, disse Isacco, il fuoco e le legna; ma dov'è la vittima per l'olocausto? »
8 But Abraham said, “God himself will provide the victim for the holocaust, my son.” Thus they continued on together.	8 «Figlio mio rispose Abramo, Dio se la provvedeva la vittima per l'olocausto ». Andando dunque tutt'e due assieme,
9 And they came to the place that God had shown to him. There he built an altar, and he set the wood in order upon it. And when he had bound his son Isaac, he laid him on the altar upon the pile of wood.	9 giunsero al luogo che Dio aveva indicato. Abramo vi eresse un altare e ci accomodò le legna, poi, avendo legato Isacco suo figliolo, lo collocò sull'altare sopra le legna.
10 And he reached out his hand and took hold of the sword, in order to sacrifice his son.	10 Poi stese la mano e prese il coltello per immolare il suo figliolo.
11 And behold, an Angel of the Lord called out from heaven, saying, “Abraham, Abraham.” And he answered, “Here I am.”	11 Ed ecco l'angelo del Signore gridare dal cielo e dirgli: « Abramo, Abramo ». Ed egli rispose: « Eccomi ».
12 And he said to him, “Do not extend your hand over the boy, and do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, since you have not spared your only begotten son for my sake.”	12 E l'angelo: « Non stendere la mano sopra il fanciullo e non gli far male alcuno, perchè ho già conosciuto che temi Dio e che per me non hai risparmiato il tuo figliolo unigenito ».
13 Abraham lifted up his eyes, and he saw behind his back a ram among the thorns, caught by the horns, which he took and offered as a holocaust, instead of his son.	13 Abramo alzò gli occhi e vide dietro a sè un ariete impigliato per le corna tra le spine, e, presolo, l'offerse in olocausto invece del figliolo.
14 And he called the name of that place: ‘The Lord Sees.’ Thus, even to this day, it is said: ‘On the mountain, the Lord will see.’	14 E chiamò quel luogo « il Signore vede »; per questo fino ad oggi si dice: « Sul monte il Signore vedrà ».
15 Then the Angel of the Lord called out to Abraham a second time from heaven, saying:	15 E Vangelo del Signore chiamò dal cielo per una seconda volta Abramo, e disse;
16 “By my own self, I have sworn, says the Lord. Because you have done this thing, and have not spared your only begotten son for my sake,	16 «Lo giuro per me stesso, dice il Signore; siccome tu hai fatto questo, e per me non hai risparmiato il tuo figlio unigenito,
17 I will bless you, and I will multiply your offspring like the stars of heaven, and like the sand which is on the seashore. Your offspring will possess the gates of their enemies.	17 io ti benedirò e moltiplicherò la tua stirpe come le stelle del cielo, e come l'arena che è sul lido del mare: la tua progenie possederà la porta dei suoi nemici,
18 And in your offspring, all the nations of the earth will be blessed, because you obeyed my voice.”	18 e nella tua progenie saran benedette tutte le nazioni della terra, perchè hai obbedito alla mia voce ».
19 Abraham returned to his servants, and they went to Beersheba together, and he lived there.	19 Poi Abramo tornò dai suoi servi e se ne andarono insieme a Bersabee, ove dimorò.
20 After these things occurred, it was reported to Abraham that Milcah, likewise, had borne sons for his brother Nahor:	20 Dopo queste cose fu riferito ad Abramo che Melca aveva anch'essa partoriti dei figlioli a Nacor fratello di lui:
21 Uz, the firstborn, and Buz, his brother, and Kemuel, the father of the Syrians,	21 Us primogenito, Buz suo fratello, e Cammei padre dei Siri,
22 and Chesed, and Hazo, likewise Pildash, and Jidlaph,	22 e Cased e Azau, e Feldas e Gedlaf,
23 as well as Bethuel, of whom was born Rebekah. These eight Milcah bore for Nahor, the brother of Abraham.	23 e Batuel da cui era nata Rebecca. Otto sono i figlioli che Melca partorì a Nacor fratello d'Abramo.
24 In truth, his concubine, named Reumah, bore Tebah, and Gaham, and Tahash, and Maacah.	24 Invece la sua concubina, chiamata Roma, partorì Tabee e Gaham, Talias e Maaca.
