1 Al those under the yoke of slavery must have unqualified respect for their masters, so that the name ofGod and our teaching are not brought into disrepute.	1 Wszyscy, którzy są pod jarzmem jako niewolnicy, niech własnych panów uznają za godnych wszelkiej czci, ażeby nie bluźniono imieniu Boga i [naszej] nauce.
2 Those whose masters are believers are not to respect them less because they are brothers; on thecontrary, they should serve them al the better, since those who have the benefit of their services are believersand dear to God. This is what you are to teach and urge.	2 Ci zaś, którzy mają wierzących panów, niechaj ich nie lekceważą z tego powodu, że są braćmi, ale niech im lepiej służą, dlatego że są oni wierzącymi i umiłowanymi jako uczestnicy dobrodziejstwa. Tych rzeczy nauczaj i do nich zachęcaj!
3 Anyone who teaches anything different and does not keep to the sound teaching which is that of ourLord Jesus Christ, the doctrine which is in accordance with true religion,	3 Jeśli ktoś naucza inaczej i nie trzyma się zdrowych słów Pana naszego Jezusa Chrystusa oraz nauki zgodnej z pobożnością,
4 is proud and has no understanding, but rather a weakness for questioning everything and arguing aboutwords. Al that can come of this is jealousy, contention, abuse and evil mistrust;	4 jest nadęty, niczego nie pojmuje, lecz choruje na dociekania i słowne utarczki. Z nich rodzą się: zawiść, sprzeczka, bluźnierstwa, złośliwe podejrzenia,
5 and unending disputes by people who are depraved in mind and deprived of truth, and imagine thatreligion is a way of making a profit.	5 ciągłe spory ludzi o wypaczonym umyśle i którym brak prawdy - ludzi, którzy uważają, że pobożność jest źródłem zysku.
6 Religion, of course, does bring large profits, but only to those who are content with what they have.	6 Wielkim zaś zyskiem jest pobożność wraz z poprzestawaniem na tym, co wystarczy.
7 We brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it;	7 Nic bowiem nie przynieśliśmy na ten świat; nic też nie możemy [z niego] wynieść.
8 but as long as we have food and clothing, we shal be content with that.	8 Mając natomiast żywność i odzienie, i dach nad głową, bądźmy z tego zadowoleni!
9 People who long to be rich are a prey to trial; they get trapped into all sorts of foolish and harmfulambitions which plunge people into ruin and destruction.	9 A ci, którzy chcą się bogacić, wpadają w pokusę i w zasadzkę oraz w liczne nierozumne i szkodliwe pożądania. One to pogrążają ludzi w zgubę i zatracenie.
10 'The love of money is the root of all evils' and there are some who, pursuing it, have wandered awayfrom the faith and so given their souls any number of fatal wounds.	10 Albowiem korzeniem wszelkiego zła jest chciwość pieniędzy. Za nimi to uganiając się, niektórzy zabłąkali się z dala od wiary i siebie samych przeszyli wielu boleściami.
11 But, as someone dedicated to God, avoid al that. You must aim to be upright and religious, fil ed withfaith and love, perseverance and gentleness.	11 Ty natomiast, o człowiecze Boży, uciekaj od tego rodzaju rzeczy, a podążaj za sprawiedliwością, pobożnością, wiarą, miłością, wytrwałością, łagodnością!
12 Fight the good fight of faith and win the eternal life to which you were cal ed and for which you madeyour noble profession of faith before many witnesses.	12 Walcz w dobrych zawodach o wiarę, zdobądź życie wieczne: do niego zostałeś powołany i [o nim] złożyłeś dobre wyznanie wobec wielu świadków.
13 Now, before God, the source of all life, and before Jesus Christ, who witnessed to his noble professionof faith before Pontius Pilate, I charge you	13 Nakazuję w obliczu Boga, który ożywia wszystko, i Chrystusa Jezusa - Tego, który złożył dobre wyznanie za Poncjusza Piłata -
14 to do al that you have been told, with no faults or failures, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ,	14 ażebyś zachował przykazanie nieskalane, bez zarzutu aż do objawienia się naszego Pana, Jezusa Chrystusa.
15 who at the due time wil be revealed by God, the blessed and only Ruler of al , the King of kings andthe Lord of lords,	15 Ukaże je, we właściwym czasie, błogosławiony i jedyny Władca, Król królujących i Pan panujących,
16 who alone is immortal, whose home is in inaccessible light, whom no human being has seen or is ableto see: to him be honour and everlasting power. Amen.	16 jedyny, mający nieśmiertelność, który zamieszkuje światłość niedostępną, którego żaden z ludzi nie widział ani nie może zobaczyć: Jemu cześć i moc wiekuista! Amen.
17 Instruct those who are rich in this world's goods that they should not be proud and should set theirhopes not on money, which is untrustworthy, but on God who gives us richly al that we need for our happiness.	17 Bogatym na tym świecie nakazuj, by nie byli wyniośli, nie pokładali nadziei w niepewności bogactwa, lecz w Bogu, który nam wszystkiego obficie udziela do używania,
18 They are to do good and be rich in good works, generous in giving and always ready to share-	18 niech czynią dobrze, bogacą się w dobre czyny, niech będą hojni, uspołecznieni,
19 this is the way they can amass a good capital sum for the future if they want to possess the only lifethat is real.	19 odkładając do skarbca dla siebie samych dobrą podstawę na przyszłość, aby osiągnęli prawdziwe życie.
20 My dear Timothy, take great care of al that has been entrusted to you. Turn away from godlessphilosophical discussions and the contradictions of the 'knowledge' which is not knowledge at al ;	20 O, Tymoteuszu, strzeż depozytu [wiary] unikając światowej czczej gadaniny i przeciwstawnych twierdzeń rzekomej wiedzy,
21 by adopting this, some have missed the goal of faith. Grace be with you.	21 jaką obiecując niektórzy odpadli od wiary. Łaska z wami!
