1 Timothy 4

1 The Spirit has explicitly said that during the last times some wil desert the faith and pay attention todeceitful spirits and doctrines that come from devils,	1 Дух виразно каже, що за останніх часів деякі відступлять від віри і пристануть до духів обманних і навчань бісівських;
2 seduced by the hypocrisy of liars whose consciences are branded as though with a red-hot iron:	2 зведені лицемірними брехунами з таврованим сумлінням,
3 they forbid marriage and prohibit foods which God created to be accepted with thanksgiving by all whobelieve and who know the truth.	3 вони заборонятимуть одружуватися і волітимуть стримуватись від страв, що їх Бог створив для вірних і для тих, які спізнали правду, щоб їх споживати з подякою.
4 Everything God has created is good, and no food is to be rejected, provided it is received withthanksgiving:	4 Бо всяке Боже створіння — добре, і не слід нічого відкидати, коли його з подякою приймати,
5 the word of God and prayer make it holy.	5 бо воно освячується словом Божим і молитвою.
6 If you put al this to the brothers, you wil be a good servant of Christ Jesus and show that you havereal y digested the teaching of the faith and the good doctrine which you have always fol owed.	6 Як будеш усе це братам викладати, то будеш добрий слуга Христа Ісуса, годований словами віри та доброї науки, якій ти був завжди вірним.
7 Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives' tales. Train yourself for religion.	7 Щождо нечистих, бабських байок — то ти їх вистерігайся. Вправляйся у благочесті;
8 Physical exercise is useful enough, but the usefulness of religion is unlimited, since it holds out promiseboth for life here and now and for the life to come;	8 бо тілесна вправа до дечого лише корисна, а благочестя на все корисне, бо має обітницю життя теперішнього й майбутнього.
9 that is a saying that you can rely on and nobody should doubt it.	9 Вірне це слово й повного довір’я гідне.
10 I mean that the point of al our toiling and battling is that we have put our trust in the living God and heis the Saviour of the whole human race but particularly of al believers.	10 На це бо й трудимося та боремося, тому що ми поклали нашу надію на живого Бога, який є Спасителем усіх людей, особливо ж вірних.
11 This is what you are to instruct and teach.	11 Це наказуй і навчай.
12 Let no one disregard you because you are young, but be an example to al the believers in the way youspeak and behave, and in your love, your faith and your purity.	12 Ніхто твоїм молодим віком хай не гордує, але будь зразком для вірних у слові, поведінці, любові, вірі й чистоті.
13 Until I arrive, devote yourself to reading to the people, encouraging and teaching.	13 Заки я прийду, віддавайся читанню, умовлянню та навчанню.
14 You have in you a spiritual gift which was given to you when the prophets spoke and the body of elderslaid their hands on you; do not neglect it.	14 Не занедбуй у собі дару, що був даний тобі через пророцтво з накладанням рук збору пресвітерів.
15 Let this be your care and your occupation, and everyone wil be able to see your progress.	15 Про це міркуй, будь увесь у цьому, щоб поступ твій усім був очевидний.
16 Be conscientious about what you do and what you teach; persevere in this, and in this way you wilsave both yourself and those who listen to you.	16 Пильнуй себе самого та навчання; дотримуйся цього, бо, робивши це, спасеш себе самого й тих, що слухають тебе.
