1 These were the stages of the journey made by the Israelites when they left Egypt in their companiesunder the leadership of Moses and Aaron.	1 Ось місця, в яких отаборювалися сини Ізраїля, що вийшли полками з Єгипетської землі під проводом Мойсея та Арона.
2 Moses recorded their starting-points in writing whenever they moved on at Yahweh's order. Thestages, from one starting-point to another, were as fol ows:	2 Мойсей записував місця, з яких вони за наказом Господнім вирушали, кочувавши. Ось їхні зупинки під час походів.
3 They left Rameses in the first month. It was the fifteenth day of the first month, the day following thePassover, when the Israelites confidently set out, under the eyes of al Egypt.	3 Рушили вони з Рамсесу першого місяця, п’ятнадцятого дня першого місяця; другого дня після Пасхи вийшли сини Ізраїля, з піднесеною рукою, перед очима всіх єгиптян,
4 The Egyptians were burying those of their own people whom Yahweh had struck down, all the first-born; Yahweh had carried out his judgement on their gods.	4 під час коли єгиптяни ховали тих, яких був побив Господь між ними — усіх первенців, — і коли Господь чинив суд над їхніми богами.
5 The Israelites left Rameses and camped at Succoth.	5 Рушили, отже, сини Ізраїля з Рамсесу та й отаборилися в Суккоті.
6 Then they left Succoth and encamped at Etham which is on the edge of the desert.	6 Тоді вирушили з Суккоту та й отаборилися в Етамі, що на краї пустині.
7 They left Etham, turned back to Pi-Hahiroth, opposite Baal-Zephon, and encamped before Migdol.	7 Піднялися з Етаму, звернули на Пігахірот, що проти Ваал-Цефона, та й отаборились перед Мігдолом.
8 They left Pi-Hahiroth, crossed the sea into the desert, and after marching for three days in the desertof Etham they encamped at Marah.	8 Двигнувшися з Пігахіроту, перейшли серединою моря в пустиню і, промандрувавши три дні ходи в Етам-пустині, отаборились у (місцевості) Мера.
9 They left Marah and reached Elim. At Elim there were twelve springs of water and seventy palmtrees; they encamped there.	9 Вирушивши з Мери, прийшли в Елім; а в Елімі було 12 джерел та 70 пальм, і там вони стали табором.
10 They left Elim and encamped by the Sea of Reeds.	10 Двигнувшися з Еліму, отаборились над Червоним морем.
11 They left the Sea of Reeds and encamped in the desert of Sin.	11 Двигнувшися з-над Червоного моря, отаборились у Сін-пустині.
12 They left the desert of Sin and encamped at Dophkah.	12 Вирушивши ж із Сін-пустині, стали табором у (місцевості) Дофка.
13 They left Dophkah and encamped at Alush.	13 А вирушивши з Дофки, отаборилися в Алуші.
14 They left Alush and encamped at Rephidim; the people found no drinking water there.	14 Двигнувшися з Алуша, отаборилися в Рефідимі; і не мали там знову води до пиття.
15 They left Rephidim and encamped in the desert of Sinai.	15 Двигнувшися ж із Рефідиму, стали табором у Синай-пустині.
16 They left the desert of Sinai and encamped at Kibroth-ha-Taavah.	16 Рушивши з Синай-пустині, отаборились у Ківрот-га-Таві.
17 They left Kibroth-ha-Taavah and encamped at Hazeroth.	17 А рушивши з Ківрот-га-Тави, стали табором у Хацероті.
18 They left Hazeroth and encamped at Rithmah.	18 Вирушивши з Хацероту, отаборились у Рітмі.
19 They left Rithmah and encamped at Rimmon-Perez.	19 Вирушивши з Рітми, отаборились у Ріммон-Переці.
20 They left Rimmon-Perez and encamped at Libnah.	20 Вирушивши з Ріммон-Перецу, отаборилися в Лівні.
21 They left Libnah and encamped at Rissah.	21 Двигнувшися з Лівни, стали табором у Ріссі.
22 They left Rissah and encamped at Kehelathah.	22 Рушивши з Рісси, отаборились у Кегелаті.
23 They left Kehelathah and encamped at Mount Shepher.	23 Двигнувшися з Кегелати, отаборились під Шефер-горою.
24 They left Mount Shepher and encamped at Haradah.	24 Двигнувшися з-під Шефер-гори, отаборилися в Хараді.
25 They left Haradah and encamped at Makheloth.	25 Вирушивши з Харади, стали табором у Макгелоті.
26 They left Makheloth and encamped at Tahath.	26 Вирушивши з Макгелоту, отаборилися в Тахаті.
27 They left Tahath and encamped at Terah.	27 Вирушивши з Тахату, стали табором у Тераху.
28 They left Terah and encamped at Mithkah.	28 Двигнувшися з Тераху, отаборились у (місцевості) Мітка.
29 They left Mithkah and encamped at Hashmonah.	29 Двигнувшися з Мітки, стали табором у Хашмоні.
30 They left Hashmonah and encamped at Moseroth.	30 Рушивши з Хашмони, отаборились у Мосероті.
31 They left Moseroth and encamped at Bene-Jaakan.	31 Двигнувшися з Мосероту, отаборились у Бне-Якані.
32 They left Bene-Jaakan and encamped at Hor-Gidgad.	32 Рушивши з Бне-Якану, отаборились у Хор-га-Гідгаді.
33 They left Hor-Gidgad and encamped at Jotbathah.	33 Двигнувшися з Хор-га-Гідгаду, стали табором у Йотваті.
34 They left Jotbathah and encamped at Abronah.	34 Вирушивши з Йотвати, отаборилися в Авроні.
35 They left Abronah and encamped at Ezion-Geber.	35 Рушивши з Аврони, стали табором в Еціон-Гевері.
36 They left Ezion-Geber and encamped in the desert of Zin, that is, at Kadesh.	36 Двигнувшися з Еціон-Геверу, стали табором у Сін-пустині, тобто у Кадеші.
37 They left Kadesh and encamped at Mount Hor, on the borders of the land of Edom.	37 Вирушивши ж із Сін-пустині, отаборилися на Гор-горі, на краю Едом-землі.
38 The priest Aaron went up Mount Hor on Yahweh's orders and died there in the fortieth year of theexodus of the Israelites from Egypt, in the fifth month, on the first day of the month.	38 І зійшов Арон священик, на наказ Господній, на Гор-гору та й помер там на сороковий рік по виході синів Ізраїля з Єгипетської землі, п’ятого місяця, першого дня місяця.
39 Aaron was a hundred and twenty-three years old when he died on Mount Hor.	39 Було ж Аронові 123 роки, коли він помер на Гор-горі.
40 The king of Arad, the Canaanite who lived in the Negeb of Canaan, heard of the Israelites' arrival.	40 Це тоді Ханаан, арадський цар, що жив у південній частині Ханаан-землі, почув про прихід синів Ізраїля.
41 They left Mount Hor and encamped at Zalmonah.	41 І двигнулися вони з-під Гор-гори та й отаборилися в Цалмоні.
42 They left Zalmonah and encamped at Punon.	42 Вирушивши ж із Цалмони, отаборились у Пуноні.
43 They left Punon and encamped at Oboth.	43 Двигнувшися з Пунону, стали табором в Овоті.
44 They left Oboth and encamped in Moabite territory at Iye-Abarim.	44 Двигнувшися з Овоту, отаборилися в Іє-Аварімі, на границі Моава.
45 They left Iyim and encamped at Dibon-Gad.	45 Рушивши з Іє-Аваріму, отаборились у Дівон-Гаді.
46 They left Dibon-Gad and encamped at Almon-Diblathaim.	46 Рушивши з Дівон-Гаду, стали табором в Алмон-Дівлатаймі.
47 They left Almon-Diblathaim and encamped in the Abarim mountains facing Nebo.	47 Двигувшися з Алмон-Дівлатайму, отаборились під Аварімськими горами, навпроти Нево.
48 They left the Abarim mountains and encamped on the Plains of Moab, near the Jordan oppositeJericho.	48 А вирушивши з-під Аварімських гір, отаборились у степах моавських, над Йорданом, проти Єрихону.
49 They encamped near the Jordan between Beth-ha-Jeshimoth and Abel-ha-Shittim, on the Plains ofMoab.	49 Отаборились вони здовж Йордану від Бет-га-Ешімоту до Авел-га-Шіттіму, у степах моавських.
50 Yahweh spoke to Moses on the Plains of Moab, near the Jordan by Jericho, and said:	50 І промовив Господь до Мойсея у степах моавських, над Йорданом, проти Єрихону:
51 'Speak to the Israelites and say: "When you have crossed the Jordan into Canaan,	51 «Скажи синам Ізраїля й повідай їм: коли, мовляв, перейдете через Йордан у Ханаан-землю,
52 you wil drive out al the local inhabitants before you. You wil destroy al their painted images, youwil destroy al their metal statues and you wil demolish al their high places.	52 то проженете всіх мешканців тієї землі з-перед себе, знищите всі їхні кумири, розіб’єте всіх їхніх вилитих ідолів та всі їхні узвишшя спустошите.
53 You wil take possession of the country and settle in it, for I have given you the country as yourproperty.	53 Тим робом заволодієте землею й осядетеся в ній, бо вам віддав я ту землю в посідання.
54 You wil share it out by lot among your clans. To a large clan you wil give a larger heritage, and to asmal er clan you wil give a smal er heritage. Where the lot fal s for each, that wil be his. Your heritage wildepend on the size of your tribe.	54 Розділите ж землю за жеребом між вашими родинами; більшій дасте більшу спадщину, меншій — меншу спадщину. Поділ спадкоємства зробите за вашими батьківськими колінами.
55 If, however, you do not drive out the local inhabitants before you, the ones you al ow to remain wilbe thorns in your eyes and thistles in your sides and wil harass you in the country where you are living,	55 Коли ж не виженете мешканців тієї землі з-перед себе, то ті з них, які залишаться, будуть вам колючками в очах і терниною в боках; вони допікатимуть вам у тій землі, де ви оселитесь,
56 and I shal treat you as I intended to treat them." '	56 і те, що мав я на думці зробити з ними, зроблю з вами.»
