Ezekiel 19

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA VOLGARE
1 'Now, raise a lament for the princes of Israel.	1 E tu (figliuolo d'uomo) piglia lo pianto sopra li principi d' Israel.
2 Say: What was your mother? A lioness among lions; lying among the cubs she nursed her whelps.	2 E dirai per che la tua madre leonessa giaceo tra li leoni, in mezzo de' lioncelli nutricò li suoi figliuoli?
3 She reared one of her whelps: he grew into a young lion; he learnt to tear his prey; he became a man-eater.	3 E trasse uno de' suoi lioncelli, e fue fatto leone, e apparoe a pigliare la preda, e a mangiare l'uomo.
4 The nations came to hear of him; he was caught in their pit; they dragged him away with hooks toEgypt.	4 E le genti udirono di lui, e non lo ricevetteno sanza ferite, e menarolo colle catene nella terra d' Egitto.
5 Her expectation thwarted, and seeing her hope dashed, she took another of her whelps and made ayoung lion of him.	5 La quale quando vidde che era perito lo suo desiderio, però ch' era infermata, tolse uno delli lioncelli suoi, e fecelo leone.
6 He prowled among the lions, he grew into a young lion, he learnt to tear his prey; he became a man-eater.	6 Il quale andava tra' leoni, e fue fatto leone; e apparoe a pigliare la preda e divorare li uomini.
7 He tore down their palaces, he destroyed their cities; the land and al its inhabitants were appal ed bythe sound of his roars.	7 E apparoe a fare le femine vedove, e disertare le cittadi loro; e fue desolata la terra e la sua abundanzia, per la voce dello ruggito di colui.
8 The nations marched out against him from the surrounding provinces; they spread their net over him;he was caught in their pit.	8 E radunaronsi contro a lui le genti d'ogni parte delle provincie, e sparsono sopra lui la loro rete; e fue preso nelle loro ferite.
9 They shackled him with hooks, they took him to the king of Babylon and threw him into a fortress, sothat his voice could never again be heard on the mountains of Israel.	9 E puoserlo in una gabbia nelle catene, e menarolo allo re di Babilonia, e misorlo in prigione, acciò che la voce sua non fusse udita sopra li monti d' Israel.
10 Your mother was like a vine planted beside the water, fruitful and leafy, because the water flowed soful .	10 La tua madre come la vigna nel sangue tuo è piantata sopra l'acqua; li suoi frutti e le sue foglie crescerono per le molte acque.
11 She had stout stems which became kingly sceptres; she grew higher and higher, up into the clouds;she was admired for her height and the number of her branches.	11 E fatte sono le sue verghe solide nelle verghe delli signori, e la sua statura è esaltata tra le frondi; e vidde la sua altezza nella moltitudine dei suoi rami.
12 But she was furiously uprooted and thrown on the ground; the east wind dried up her fruit, she wasbroken to pieces; her stout stem dried up, the fire devoured it.	12 E fue divelta nell'ira, e fue gittata in terra (al vento), e lo vento abbruciante seccò li suoi frutti; e li suoi rami della sua fortezza infracidarono e diventorono aridi, e lo fuoco se la manicò.
13 Now she has been transplanted to the desert, to a dry and thirsty land.	13 E ora transpiantata è nel deserto, in terra nella via e siziente, (cioè che si secca, che hae bisogno d'acqua).
14 Fire burst out of her stem devouring her branches and fruit. No more stout stem for her, no morekingly sceptre.' This is a lament; it was used as such.	14 E uscio lo fuoco della verga de' suoi rami, lo quale mangiò de' suoi frutti; e non fu in lei una verga che fosse forte, verga regale da signori. E ivi fu pianto, e anche vi sarà pianto.
