Jeremiah 8

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA VOLGARE
1 'When that time comes, Yahweh declares, the bones of the kings of Judah, the bones of its chief men,the bones of the priests, the bones of the prophets and the bones of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, wil be takenfrom their tombs.	1 In quel tempo, dice il Signore, gitteranno fuori delli suoi sepolcri l'ossa delli re di Giuda, e l'ossa de' suoi principi, e l'ossa de' sacerdoti, e l'ossa de' profeti, e l'ossa di coloro che abitarono in Ierusalem, (de' suoi sepolcri).
2 They wil be spread out before the sun, the moon, the whole array of heaven, whom they have loved andserved, fol owed, consulted and worshipped. They wil not be gathered or reburied but will be left lying on thesurface like dung.	2 E spargeranno quelle al sole e alla luna, e tutta la milizia del cielo la quale amarono, quali servirono, e dopo le quali andarono, e addomandarono e adorarono; tanto fia fatto loro, che non saranno ricolti nè seppelliti; e saranno sopra la terra come feccia.
3 And death will seem preferable to life to al the survivors of this wicked race, wherever I have driventhem, Yahweh Sabaoth declares.	3 Ed eleggerannosi innanzi la morte, che la vita, tutti (li rimanenti) che saranno rimasi di questa cognazione pessima, in tutti li luoghi i quali sono abbandonati, e alli quali gittai loro, dice il (nostro) Signore Iddio delli esèrciti.
4 'You are to tel them, "Yahweh says this: If someone fal s, can he not stand up again? If people stray,can they not turn back?	4 E dirai a loro: questo disse il Signore Iddio: or chi cade non si rileverà? e chi è rivoltato non ritornerà?
5 Why does this people persist in acts of infidelity, why does Jerusalem persist in continuous infidelity?They cling to il usion, they refuse to turn back.	5 Or per che dunque questo populo è contro a Ierusalem con avversione di contenzione? Pigliarono la bugia, e non volsero ritornare.
6 I have listened attentively: they have never said anything like that. Not one repents of wickednesssaying: What have I done? Each one keeps returning to the course like a horse charging into battle.	6 Io stetti attento, e ascoltai; e nullo è che parli cosa buona, nessuno è che facci penitenza del peccato suo [dicendo]: ma che ho io fatto? Tutti sono tornati al suo corso, quasi come lo cavallo che va con (grande) impeto nella battaglia.
7 Even the stork in the sky knows the appropriate season; turtledove, swal ow and crane observe theirtime of migration. But my people do not know Yahweh's laws!" '	7 Lo nibbio in cielo conobbe lo tempo suo; e la tortore e la rondine e la cicogna conobbero l' avvenimento del suo tempo; ma lo mio populo non conobbe lo giudicio del suo Signore Iddio.
8 How can you say, 'We are wise, since we have Yahweh's Law?' Look how it has been falsified by thelying pen of the scribes!	8 Or come dite voi: noi siamo savii, e la legge di Dio è con noi? Veramente ch' elli hae adoperato mentire lo stile bugiardo delli scrittori.
9 The wise are put to shame, alarmed, caught out because they have rejected Yahweh's word. What pricetheir wisdom now?	9 Li savi sono confusi e spaventati, e sono presi (e spaventati); gittarono lo detto di Dio, e niuno senno è in loro.
10 So I shal give their wives to other men, their fields to new masters, for, from the least to greatest, theyare al greedy for gain; prophet no less than priest, al of them practise fraud.	10 Però io darò le loro donne alli strani, e li loro campi alli eredi; però che dal minimo infino al grande tutti sèguitano l'avarizia; dalli profeti insino alli sacerdoti, tutti fanno mentire.
11 Without concern they dress the wound of the daughter of my people, saying, 'Peace! Peace!' whereasthere is no peace.	11 E sanavano la contrizione della figliuola del mio populo con vergogna, dicendo: pace, pace, e non era pace.
12 They should be ashamed of their loathsome deeds. Not they! They feel no shame, they do not evenknow how to blush. And so as others fall, they too wil fal , will be thrown down when the time for punishing themcomes, Yahweh says.	12 Confusi sono, però che feciono abominazione; anzi non sono confusi della confusione che ebbero, e non si seppono vergognare; e però cadranno intra. li cadenti, nel tempo della loro visitazione cadranno, dice Iddio.
13 I shal put an end to them, Yahweh declares, no more grapes on the vine, no more figs on the fig treeonly withered leaves: I have found them people to trample on them!	13 Radunando radunerò io loro, dice Iddio Signore (delli esèrciti e delle battaglie); non è uva nelle viti, e li fichi non sono nelle fichiere; è gittata nelle foglie, e diedi loro queste cose che sono passate.
14 Why are we sitting still? Mobilise! Take to the fortified towns and there fall silent, since Yahweh ourGod means to silence us by giving us poisoned water to drink because we have sinned against him.	14 O per che sediamo? convenitevi insieme, ed entriamo nella città armata, e stiamo ivi cheti; però che il nostro Signore ci ha fatto stare cheti, e diedeci a bere (a noi) acqua di fele; però che peccammo. al nostro Signore Iddio.
15 We are hoping for peace -- no good came of it! For the time of healing -- nothing but terror!	15 Aspettammo la pace, e non era bene; aspettammo tempo di medicina, ed ecco la paura.
16 From Dan you can hear the snorting of his horses; at the neighing of his stal ions the whole countryquakes; they are coming to devour the country and its contents, the town and those that live in it.	16 Da Dan si è udito lo rumore de' suoi cavalli; dalla voce de' combattenti suoi si è commossa tutta la terra; e vennero, e divorarono la terra e la sua plenitudine, la città e tutti li suoi abitatori.
17 Yes, now I am sending you poisonous snakes against which no charm exists; and they wil bite you,Yahweh declares.	17 E perciò io vi manderò pessimi serpenti, e reguli, i quali non ricevono incantazione; e morderanno voi, dice Iddio.
18 Incurable sorrow overtakes me, my heart fails me.	18 E hoe il mio dolore sopra il dolore; lo mio cuore sì è in me dolente.
19 Hark, from the daughter of my people the cry for help, ringing far and wide throughout the land! 'IsYahweh no longer in Zion, her King no longer there?' (Why have they provoked me with their idols, with theirfutile foreign gods?)	19 Ecco la voce dello rumore della figliuola del populo mio di terra lontana: or non è lo Signore in Sion, ovver lo suo re non è in quella? per che dunque m' hanno quelli provocato ad ira colli loro intagliamenti, e colle loro vanitadi istraniere?
20 'Harvest is over, summer at an end, and we have not been saved!'	20 Passata è la ricolta, e la state è compiuta, e noi [non] siamo salvi.
21 The wound of the daughter of my people wounds me too, all looks dark to me, terror grips me.	21 Sopra la contrizione della figliuola del populo mio sono contrito e contristato; lo stupore ha tenuto me (dice Iddio).
22 Is there no balm in Gilead any more? Is no doctor there? Then why is there no progress in the cure ofthe daughter of my people?	22 Or non è lacrima d'arbore in Galaad? or non è medico ivi? Perchè dunque non è lavata via la cicatrice della figliuola del populo mio?
23 Who wil turn my head into a fountain, and my eyes into a spring of tears, that I can weep day and nightover the slain of the daughter of my people?
