Jeremiah 8

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA TINTORI
1 'When that time comes, Yahweh declares, the bones of the kings of Judah, the bones of its chief men,the bones of the priests, the bones of the prophets and the bones of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, wil be takenfrom their tombs.	1 In quel tempo — dice il Signore — saran gettate fuori dai loro sepolcri le ossa dei re di Giuda, le ossa dei suoi principi, le ossa dei suoi sacerdoti, le ossa dei suoi profeti, le ossa di quelli che àbitaron Gerusalemme.
2 They wil be spread out before the sun, the moon, the whole array of heaven, whom they have loved andserved, fol owed, consulted and worshipped. They wil not be gathered or reburied but will be left lying on thesurface like dung.	2 E saranno esposte al sole e alla luna, e a tutta l'armata del cielo, che amarono, che servirono, che seguirono, che cercarono e adorarono: non saranno raccolte, nè sotterrate, saran come concime sulla faccia della terra.
3 And death will seem preferable to life to al the survivors of this wicked race, wherever I have driventhem, Yahweh Sabaoth declares.	3 E anteporranno la morte alla vita tutti quelli che di questa pessima razza resteranno in tutti quei luoghi abbandonati dai eguali io li ho cacciati, — dice Signore degli eserciti.
4 'You are to tel them, "Yahweh says this: If someone fal s, can he not stand up again? If people stray,can they not turn back?	4 E dirà loro: « Così parla il Signore: — Forse chi cade non può rialzarsi, e chi è uscito fuor di strada non ci può ritornare?
5 Why does this people persist in acts of infidelity, why does Jerusalem persist in continuous infidelity?They cling to il usion, they refuse to turn back.	5 E perchè dunque questo popolo di Gerusalemme s'è ribellato con ribellione ostinata? Si sono attaccati alla menzogna, e non voglion tornare.
6 I have listened attentively: they have never said anything like that. Not one repents of wickednesssaying: What have I done? Each one keeps returning to the course like a horse charging into battle.	6 Stetti attento, ascoltai: nessuno parla di bene, non c'è chi faccia penitenza del suo peccato e dica: « Che ho fatto? » Tutti continuano la loro corsa, come cavallo che si slancia nella battaglia.
7 Even the stork in the sky knows the appropriate season; turtledove, swal ow and crane observe theirtime of migration. But my people do not know Yahweh's laws!" '	7 Nell'aria il nibbio conosce il suo tempo, la tortorella, la rondine e la cicogna osservano il tempo del loro arrivo, ma il mio popolo non ha conosciuta la legge del Signore.
8 How can you say, 'We are wise, since we have Yahweh's Law?' Look how it has been falsified by thelying pen of the scribes!	8 Come potete dire: Noi siamo sapienti e abbiam con noi la legge del Signore? — In verità il bugiardo stilo degli scribi ha vergato menzogne.
9 The wise are put to shame, alarmed, caught out because they have rejected Yahweh's word. What pricetheir wisdom now?	9 I sapienti son confusi, atterriti e presi, perchè hanno rigettata la parola del Signore e non hanno punta sapienza.
10 So I shal give their wives to other men, their fields to new masters, for, from the least to greatest, theyare al greedy for gain; prophet no less than priest, al of them practise fraud.	10 Per questo io darò le loro mogli agli stranieri, i loro campi agli eredi, perchè dal più piccolo al più grande tutti si son dati all'avarizia, e, dal profeta al sacerdote, tutti son bugiardi.
11 Without concern they dress the wound of the daughter of my people, saying, 'Peace! Peace!' whereasthere is no peace.	11 Ed han curata con scherni la piaga della figlia del mio popolo, dicendo: « Pace, pace! » e di pace non ce n'era punta.
12 They should be ashamed of their loathsome deeds. Not they! They feel no shame, they do not evenknow how to blush. And so as others fall, they too wil fal , will be thrown down when the time for punishing themcomes, Yahweh says.	12 Essi dovrebbero arrossire d'aver fatte cose abominevoli, ma invece la stessa confusione non li ha confusi, non han conosciuta la vergogna, per questo cadranno fra quelli che rovinano, saranno atterrati nel giorno del loro castigo — dice il Signore. —
13 I shal put an end to them, Yahweh declares, no more grapes on the vine, no more figs on the fig treeonly withered leaves: I have found them people to trample on them!	13 Io li radunerò tutti — dice il Signore: — non c'è uva sulle viti, non ci son fichi sul fico, (son cadute) anche le foglie, ciò che diedi loro se n'è andato.
14 Why are we sitting still? Mobilise! Take to the fortified towns and there fall silent, since Yahweh ourGod means to silence us by giving us poisoned water to drink because we have sinned against him.	14 Perchè stiamo a sedere? Radunatevi, andiamo nella città forte, stiamoci in silenzio perchè il Signore Dio nostro ci ha ridotti al silenzio, ci ha dato a bere l'acqua di fiele, avendo noi peccato contro il Signore;
15 We are hoping for peace -- no good came of it! For the time of healing -- nothing but terror!	15 aspettavamo la pace e non è venuto niente di buono, il tempo della guarigione, ed ecco lo spavento.
16 From Dan you can hear the snorting of his horses; at the neighing of his stal ions the whole countryquakes; they are coming to devour the country and its contents, the town and those that live in it.	16 Da Dan si è sentito nitrire i suoi cavalli, dall'alto vociar dei suoi combattenti: trema tutta la terra. Vengono, divorano la terra e tutto ciò che contiene, le città e i loro abitanti.
17 Yes, now I am sending you poisonous snakes against which no charm exists; and they wil bite you,Yahweh declares.	17 Ecco io vi manderò dei serpenti, dei basilischi da non potersi incantare: essi vi morderanno — dice il Signore.
18 Incurable sorrow overtakes me, my heart fails me.	18 Il mio dolore sorpassa ogni dolore, ho dentro di me il cuore angustiato.
19 Hark, from the daughter of my people the cry for help, ringing far and wide throughout the land! 'IsYahweh no longer in Zion, her King no longer there?' (Why have they provoked me with their idols, with theirfutile foreign gods?)	19 Ecco il grido della figlia del mio popolo da terra lontana! Non è più in Sion il Signore? Non c'è più il suo re in lei? Perchè dunque m'han provocato a sdegno coi loro idoli, colle vanità straniere?
20 'Harvest is over, summer at an end, and we have not been saved!'	20 La mietitura è passata, l'estate è finita, e noi siamo stati salvati.
21 The wound of the daughter of my people wounds me too, all looks dark to me, terror grips me.	21 Sono oppresso dallo strazio della figlia del mio popolo, sono nell'angoscia; lo spavento m'ha invaso.
22 Is there no balm in Gilead any more? Is no doctor there? Then why is there no progress in the cure ofthe daughter of my people?	22 Non c'è più balsamo in Galaad? Non ci son più dei medici per te? Perchè dunque non si è rimarginata la ferita della figlia del mio popolo?
23 Who wil turn my head into a fountain, and my eyes into a spring of tears, that I can weep day and nightover the slain of the daughter of my people?
