Jeremiah 28

1 That same year, at the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the fifth month of the fourthyear, the prophet Hananiah son of Azzur, a Gibeonite, spoke as follows to Jeremiah in the Temple of Yahweh inthe presence of the priests and of al the people,	1 In quello stesso anno, nel principio del regno di Sedecia re di Giuda, nel quinto mese dell'anno quarto, disse a me Hanania figliuolo di Azur profeta di Gabaon nella casa del Signore davanti a' sacerdoti, e a tutto il popolo:
2 'Yahweh Sabaoth, the God of Israel, says this, "I have broken the yoke of the king of Babylon.	2 Queste cose dice il Signore degli eserciti, il Dio d'Israele: Io ho spezzato il giogo del re di Babilonia.
3 In exactly two years' time I shal bring back al the vessels of the Temple of Yahweh whichNebuchadnezzar king of Babylon took away from here and carried off to Babylon.	3 Restano ancora due anni, ed io farò riportare in questo luogo i vasi tutti della casa del Signore, che furon tolti da questo luogo da Nabucodonosor re di Babilonia, e trasportati a Babilonia.
4 And I shal also bring back Jeconiah son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah and al the exiles of Judah whohave gone to Babylon, Yahweh declares, for I shal break the yoke of the king of Babylon." '	4 Ed io farò ritornare in questo luogo Jeconia figliuolo di Joachim, re di Giuda, e tutti i fuorusciti di Giuda, che sono passati a Babilonia, dice il Signore; perocché io spezzerò il giogo del re di Babilonia.
5 The prophet Jeremiah then replied to the prophet Hananiah in front of the priests and al the peoplepresent in the Temple of Yahweh.	5 E Geremia profeta disse ad Hanania profeta dinanzi a' sacerdoti, e a tutto il popolo, che si trovava nell'atrio del Signore:
6 'So be it!' the prophet Jeremiah said, 'May Yahweh do so! May he fulfil the words that you haveprophesied and bring al the vessels of the Temple of Yahweh and al the exiles back to this place from Babylon.	6 E disse adunque Geremia profeta: Cosi sia: faccia il Signore così. Il Signore dia vita alle parole, colle quali tu hai profetizzato: che tornino i vasi nella casa del Signore, e tutti i fuorusciti in questo luogo.
7 Listen carefully, however, to this word that I am now going to say for you and al the people to hear:	7 Per altro ascolta tu questa parola, che io fo intendere alle tue orecchie, e alle orecchie di tutto il popolo:
8 From remote times, the prophets who preceded you and me prophesied war, disaster and plague formany countries and for great kingdoms;	8 I profeti, che furon prima di me, e prima di te fin da principio, profetizzarono anch'essi a molti paesi, ed a' regni grandi guerre, tribolazioni, e fame.
9 the prophet who prophesies peace can be recognised as one truly sent by Yahweh only when his wordcomes true.'	9 Un profeta, che predice la pace, avverata che siasi la sua parola, sarà riconosciuto per profeta mandato veracemente dal Signore.
10 The prophet Hananiah then snatched the yoke off the neck of the prophet Jeremiah and broke it.	10 Ma Hanania prese il giogo dal collo di Geremia profeta, e lo spezzò.
11 In front of al the people Hananiah then said, 'Yahweh says this, "This is how, in exactly two years'time, I shall break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and take it off the necks of al the nations." ' Atthis, the prophet Jeremiah went away.	11 E disse Hanania in presenza di tutto il popolo: Queste cose dice il Signore: Così io spezzerò di qui a due anni il giogo messo da Nabucodonosor re di Babilonia sul collo di tutte le genti.
12 After the prophet Hananiah had broken the yoke he had snatched off the prophet Jeremiah's neck,the word of Yahweh came to Jeremiah,	12 E andò Geremia profeta pe' fatti suoi. E il Signore parlò a Geremia, dopo che Hanania profeta ebbe spezzata la catena, che aveva al suo collo il profeta Geremia, dicendo:
13 'Go to Hananiah and tell him this, "Yahweh says this: You have broken the wooden yokes only tomake iron yokes to replace them!	13 Va, e dì ad Hanania: Queste cose dice il Signore: Tu hai spezzato il giogo di legno; e invece di quello ne farai uno di ferro:
14 For Yahweh Sabaoth, the God of Israel, says this: An iron yoke is what I now lay on the necks of althese nations to enslave them to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon. (They wil be enslaved to him; I have evengiven him the wild animals.)" '	14 Imperocché queste cose dice il Signore degli eserciti, il Dio d'Israele: Io ho posto sul collo di tutte queste genti un giogo di ferro, affinchè servano a Nabuchodonosor re di Babilonia, e a lui serviranno: ed anche le bestie della terra ho soggettate a lui.
15 The prophet Jeremiah said to the prophet Hananiah, 'Listen careful y, Hananiah: Yahweh has not sentyou; and thanks to you this people is now relying on what is false.	15 E disse Geremia profeta ad Hanania profeta: Ascolta, o Hanania: il Signore non ti ha mandato, e tu hai fatto, che questo popolo ponesse fidanza nella menzogna:
16 And so, Yahweh says this, "I am going to send you off the face of the earth: you wil die this year(since you have preached rebel ion against Yahweh)." '	16 Per questo così dice il Signore: Ecco, che io ti caccerò dalla faccia della terra: in quest'anno morrai: perocché hai parlato contro il Signore.
17 The prophet Hananiah died the same year, in the seventh month.	17 E morì Hanania profeta in quell'anno, il settimo mese.
