1 The word of Yahweh came to Jehu son of Hanani against Baasha:	1 Or le Seigneur adressa la parole à Jéhu, fils d'Hanani, contre Baasa, et Il lui dit:
2 'I raised you from the dust and made you leader of my people Israel, but you have fol owed Jeroboam'sexample and led my people Israel into sins which provoke my anger.	2 Je vous ai élevé de la poussière, et Je vous ai établi chef sur Mon peuple Israël, et cependant vous avez marché dans la voie de Jéroboam, et vous avez fait pécher Mon peuple Israël pour M'irriter par leurs péchés.
3 Now I shal sweep away Baasha and his House; I shal make your House like the House of Jeroboamson of Nebat.	3 C'est pourquoi Je retrancherai de dessus la terre la postérité de Baasa et la postérité de sa maison, et Je traiterai votre maison comme la maison de Jéroboam, fils de Nabat.
4 Those of Baasha's family who die in the city, the dogs wil eat; and those who die in the open country,the birds of the air wil eat.'	4 Celui de la race de Baasa qui mourra dans la ville sera mangé par les chiens, et celui qui mourra à la campagne sera mangé par les oiseaux du ciel.
5 The rest of the history of Baasha, his career, his valour, is this not recorded in the Book of the Annalsof the Kings of Israel?	5 Le reste des actions de Baasa, et tout ce qu'il a fait, et ses combats, tout cela est écrit au livre des annales des rois d'Israël.
6 When Baasha fel asleep with his ancestors, he was buried in Tirzah; his son Elah succeeded him.	6 Baasa s'endormit donc avec ses pères, et il fut enseveli à Thersa; et Ela, son fils, régna à sa place.
7 Furthermore, the word of Yahweh was delivered through the prophet Jehu son of Hanani againstBaasha and his House, first because of the many ways in which he had displeased Yahweh, provoking him toanger by his actions and becoming like the House of Jeroboam; secondly because he had destroyed that House.	7 Mais le prophète Jéhu, fils d'Hanani, ayant déclaré à Baasa ce que le Seigneur avait prononcé contre lui et contre sa maison, à cause de tous les maux qu'il avait faits devant le Seigneur pour L'irriter par les oeuvres de ses mains, et que le Seigneur traiterait sa maison comme celle de Jéroboam, Baasa, pour ce motif, tua ce prophète Jéhu, fils d'Hanani.
8 In the twenty-sixth year of Asa king of Judah, Elah son of Baasha became king of Israel at Tirzah, fortwo years.	8 La vingt-sixième année d'Asa, roi de Juda, Ela, fils de Baasa, règna sur Israël à Thersa, et son règne dura deux ans.
9 Zimri, one of his officers, captain of half his chariotry, plotted against him. While he was at Tirzah,drinking himself senseless in the house of Arza who was master of the palace in Tirzah,	9 Car Zambri son serviteur,qui commandait la moitié de sa cavalerie, se révolta contre lui; et pendant qu'il buvait à Thersa, et qu'il était ivre dans la maison d'Arsa, gouverneur de Thersa,
10 Zimri came in, struck him down and kil ed him in the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, andsucceeded him.	10 Zambri, se jetant sur lui, le frappa et le tua, la vingt-septième année du règne d'Asa, roi de Juda, et il régna à sa place.
11 On his accession, as soon as he was seated on the throne, he butchered Baasha's entire family, notleaving him one manjack of them alive, neither relative nor friend.	11 Lorsqu'il fut établi roi, et qu'il fut assis sur son trône, il extermina toute la maison de Baasa, sans en laisser aucun reste, et sans épargner aucun de ses proches ou de ses amis.
12 Zimri destroyed the whole House of Baasha, in accordance with the word which Yahweh had spokenagainst Baasha through the prophet Jehu,	12 Zambri détruisit ainsi toute la maison de Baasa, selon la parole que le Seigneur avait fait dire à Baasa par le prophète Jéhu,
13 because of all the sins of Baasha and his son Elah into which they had led Israel, provoking the angerof Yahweh, God of Israel, with their worthless idols.	13 à cause de tous les péchés que Baasa et son fils Ela avaient commis et fait commettre à Israël, en irritant le Seigneur Dieu d'Israël par leurs vanités.
14 The history of Elah, his entire career, is this not recorded in the Book of the Annals of the Kings ofIsrael?	14 Le reste des actions d'Ela et tout ce qu'il fit est écrit au livre des annales des rois d'Israël.
15 In the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, Zimri became king for seven days, at Tirzah. Thepeople were then encamped in front of Gibbethon, a Philistine town.	15 La vingt-septième année d'Asa, roi de Juda, Zambri régna à Thersa pendant sept jours. L'armée assiégeait alors Gebbéthon, ville des Philistins;
16 When news reached the camp of how Zimri had not only plotted against but actual y killed the king, alIsrael proclaimed the army commander Omri as king of Israel in the camp that very day.	16 et ayant appris que Zambri s'était révolté et avait tué le roi, tout Israël établit roi Amri, général de l'armée d'Israël, qui était alors dans le camp.
17 Omri, and all Israel with him, raised the siege of Gibbethon and laid siege to Tirzah.	17 Amri quitta donc Gebbéthon et marcha avec l'armée d'Israël, et vint assiéger Thersa.
18 When Zimri saw that the town had been captured, he went into the keep of the royal palace, burnedthe palace over his own head, and died.	18 Zambri, voyant que la ville allait être prise, entra dans le palais et se brûla avec la maison royale; et il mourut
19 This was because of the sin which he had committed in doing what is displeasing to Yahweh, bycopying the example of Jeroboam and the sin into which he had led Israel.	19 dans les péchés qu'il avait commis en faisant le mal devant le Seigneur, et en marchant dans la voie de Jéroboam, et dans le péché par lequel il avait fait pécher Israël.

21 The people of Israel then split into two factions: one half fol owing Tibni son of Ginath to make himking, the other half fol owing Omri.	21 Alors le peuple d'Israël se divisa en deux parties. La moitié du peuple suivait Thebni, fils de Gineth, pour l'établir roi, et l'autre moitié suivait Amri.
22 But the faction of Omri proved stronger than that of Tibni son of Ginath; thus Tibni lost his life andOmri became king.	22 Mais le peuple qui était avec Amri eut l'avantage sur le peuple qui était avec Thebni, fils de Gineth, et Thebni étant mort, Amri régna seul.
23 In the thirty-first year of Asa king of Judah, Omri became king of Israel and reigned for twelve years.He reigned for six years at Tirzah.	23 La trente et unième année d'Asa, roi de Juda, Amri régna sur Israël. Son règne dura douze ans, dont il en régna six à Thersa.
24 Then for two talents of silver he bought the hil of Samaria from Shemer and on it built a town whichhe named Samaria after Shemer who had owned the hil .	24 Il acheta de Somer la montagne de Samarie pour deux talents d'argent, et il y bâtit une ville qu'il appela Samarie, du nom de Somer, à qui avait appartenu la montagne.
25 Omri did what is displeasing to Yahweh, and was worse than al his predecessors.	25 Amri fit le mal devant le Seigneur, et les crimes qu'il commit surpassèrent encore ceux de tous ses prédécesseurs.
26 In every way he copied the example of Jeroboam son of Nebat and the sins into which he had ledIsrael, provoking the anger of Yahweh, God of Israel, with their worthless idols.	26 Il marcha dans toute la voie de Jéroboam, fils de Nabat, et dans les péchés par lesquels il avait fait pécher Israël, pour irriter le Seigneur Dieu d'Israël par ses vanités.
27 The rest of the history of Omri, his career, his valour, is this not recorded in the Book of the Annals ofthe Kings of Israel?	27 Le reste des actions d'Amri, avec les combats qu'il livra, est écrit au livre des annales des rois d'Israël.
28 When Omri fel asleep with his ancestors, he was buried in Samaria; his son Ahab succeeded him.	28 Amri dormit avec ses pères et fut enseveli à Samarie, et Achab son fils régna à sa place.
29 Ahab son of Omri became king of Israel in the thirty-eighth year of Asa king of Judah, and reignedover Israel for twenty-two years in Samaria.	29 La trente-huitième année du règne d'Asa, roi de Juda, Achab, fils d'Amri, régna sur Israël. Il régna sur Israël à Samarie, et son règne dura vingt-deux ans.
30 Ahab son of Omri did what is displeasing to Yahweh, and was worse than al his predecessors.	30 Achab, fils d'Amri, fit le mal devant le Seigneur, et dépassa en impiété tous ceux qui avaient été avant lui.
31 The least that he did was to fol ow the sinful example of Jeroboam son of Nebat: he married Jezebeldaughter of Ethbaal, king of the Sidonians, and then proceeded to serve Baal and worship him.	31 Il ne se contenta pas de marcher dans les péchés de Jéroboam fils de Nabat, mais, de plus, il épousa Jézabel, fille d'Ethbaal, roi des Sidoniens, et il alla servir Baal, et l'adora.

34 It was in his time that Hiel of Bethel rebuilt Jericho. Laying its foundations cost him his eldest sonAbiram and erecting its gates cost him his youngest son Segub, just as Yahweh had foretold through Joshua sonof Nun.	34 Pendant son règne, Hiel, qui était de Béthel, bâtit Jéricho. Il perdit Abiram, son fils aîné, lorsqu'il en jeta les fondements, et Ségub, le dernier de ses fils, lorsqu'il posa les portes, selon que le Seigneur l'avait prédit par Josué, fils de Nun.
