Amos 1

1 The words of Amos, a shepherd from Tekoa, which he received in vision concerning Israel, in the days of Uzziah, king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam, son of Joash, king of Israel, two years before the earthquake:	1 A tekoai pásztorok közül való Ámosz szavai, melyeket Izrael felől látott Uzijának, Júda királyának napjaiban és Jeroboámnak, Joás fiának, Izrael királyának napjaiban, két évvel a földrengés előtt.
2 The LORD will roar from Zion, and from Jerusalem raise his voice: The pastures of the shepherds will languish, and the summit of Carmel wither.	2 Így szólt: »Bömböl az Úr Sionról, és hallatja szavát Jeruzsálemből; és elhervadnak a pásztorok ékes mezői, és kiszárad a Kármel teteje.«
3 Thus says the LORD: For three crimes of Damascus, and for four, I will not revoke my word; Because they threshed Gilead with sledges of iron,	3 Ezt mondja az Úr: »Damaszkusznak három, sőt négy gonosztette miatt nem fordítok el róla semmit sem: mert vasszekerekkel csépelték végig Gileádot.
4 I will send fire upon the house of Hazael, to devour the castles of Ben-hadad.	4 Tüzet bocsátok Azaél házára, és megemészti Ben-Hadad palotáit;
5 I will break the bar of Damascus; I will root out those who live in the Valley of Aven, And the sceptered ruler of Beth-eden; the people of Aram shall be exiled to Kir, says the LORD.	5 összetöröm Damaszkusz zárát, és szétszórom a lakosságot a Bálvány-völgyről, és a jogar birtokosát a Gyönyörök házából, és Kírbe hurcolják Szíria népét« – mondja az Úr.
6 Thus says the LORD: For three crimes of Gaza, and for four, I will not revoke my word; Because they took captive whole groups to hand over to Edom,	6 Ezt mondja az Úr: »Gázának három, sőt négy gonosztette miatt nem fordítok el róla semmit sem: mert egész fogolyseregeket hurcoltak el, hogy kiszolgáltassák őket Edomnak.
7 I will send fire upon the wall of Gaza, to devour her castles;	7 Tüzet bocsátok Gáza falára, hogy eméssze meg várait;
8 I will root out those who live in Ashdod, and the sceptered ruler of Ashkelon; I will turn my hand against Ekron, and the last of the Philistines shall perish, says the Lord God.	8 szétszórom Asdód lakosságát, és a jogar birtokosát Askalonból, majd kezemet Akkaron ellen fordítom, és elvesznek a filiszteusok maradványai«, – mondja az Úr Isten.
9 Thus says the LORD: For three crimes of Tyre, and for four I will not revoke my word; Because they delivered whole groups captive to Edom, and did not remember the pact of brotherhood,	9 Ezt mondja az Úr: »Tírusznak három, sőt négy gonosztette miatt nem fordítok el róla semmit sem: mert egész fogolyseregeket szolgáltattak ki Edomnak, és nem gondoltak a testvéri szövetségre.
10 I will send fire upon the wall of Tyre,to devour her castles.	10 Tüzet bocsátok Tírusz falára, hogy eméssze meg várait.«
11 Thus says the LORD: For three crimes of Edom, and for four, I will not revoke my word; Because he pursued his brother with the sword, choking up all pity; Because he persisted in his anger and kept his wrath to the end,	11 Ezt mondja az Úr: »Edomnak három, sőt négy gonosztette miatt nem fordítok el róla semmit sem: mert karddal üldözte testvérét és elfojtotta az iránta való irgalmat, és továbbra is haragot tartott és gyűlöletét megőrizte mindvégig.
12 I will send fire upon Teman, and it will devour the castles of Bozrah.	12 Tüzet bocsátok Temánra, és megemészti Boszra várait.«
13 Thus says the LORD: For three crimes of the Ammonites, and for four, I will not revoke my word; Because they ripped open expectant mothers in Gilead, while extending their territory,	13 Ezt mondja az Úr: »Ammon fiainak három, sőt négy gonosztette miatt nem fordítok el róla semmit sem: mert felhasította Gileádnak áldott állapotban levő asszonyait, hogy kiterjessze határait.
14 I will kindle a fire upon the wall of Rabbah, and it will devour her castles Amid clamor on the day of battle and stormwind in a time of tempest.	14 Tüzet gyújtok Rabba falán, hogy eméssze meg várait, amikor majd jajgatás lesz a háború napján, és fergeteg a vihar napján.
15 Their king shall go into captivity, he and his princes with him, says the LORD.	15 És fogságba jut királyuk, ő maga és vele fejedelmei« – mondja az Úr.
