1 For the leader; with stringed instruments. A psalm of David.	1 [For the choirmaster For strings Psalm Of David] When I cal , answer me, God, upholder of my right. Inmy distress you have set me at large; take pity on me and hear my prayer!
2 Answer when I call, my saving God. In my troubles, you cleared a way; show me favor; hear my prayer.	2 Children of men, how long will you be heavy of heart, why love what is vain and chase afteril usions?Pause
3 How long will you people mock my honor, love what is worthless, chase after lies? Selah	3 Realise that Yahweh performs wonders for his faithful, Yahweh listens when I call to him.
4 Know that the LORD works wonders for the faithful; the LORD hears when I call out.	4 Be careful not to sin, speak in your hearts, and on your beds keep silence.Pause
5 Tremble and do not sin; upon your beds ponder in silence.	5 Loyally offer sacrifices, and trust in Yahweh.
6 Offer fitting sacrifice and trust in the LORD.	6 Many keep saying, 'Who wil put happiness before our eyes?' Let the light of your face shine on us.Yahweh,
7 Many say, "May we see better times! LORD, show us the light of your face!" Selah	7 to my heart you are a richer joy than al their corn and new wine.
8 But you have given my heart more joy than they have when grain and wine abound.	8 In peace I lie down and at once fall asleep, for it is you and none other, Yahweh, who make me restsecure.
9 In peace I shall both lie down and sleep, for you alone, LORD, make me secure.
