Psalms 127

1 A song of ascents. Of Solomon. Unless the LORD build the house, they labor in vain who build. Unless the LORD guard the city, in vain does the guard keep watch.	1 A Canticle in steps. Blessed are all those who fear the Lord, who walk in his ways.
2 It is vain for you to rise early and put off your rest at night, To eat bread earned by hard toil-- all this God gives to his beloved in sleep.	2 For you will eat by the labors of your hands. Blessed are you, and it will be well with you.
3 Children too are a gift from the LORD, the fruit of the womb, a reward.	3 Your wife is like an abundant vine on the sides of your house. Your sons are like young olive trees surrounding your table.
4 Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children born in one's youth.	4 Behold, so will the man be blessed who fears the Lord.
5 Blessed are they whose quivers are full. They will never be shamed contending with foes at the gate.	5 May the Lord bless you from Zion, and may you see the good things of Jerusalem, all the days of your life.
	6 And may you see the sons of your sons. Peace be upon Israel.
