1 Hezekiah was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned twenty-nine years in Jerusalem. His mother was named Abia, daughter of Zechariah.	1 Ezequías tenía veinticinco años cuando comenzó a reinar y reinó veintinueve años en Jerusalén. Su madre se llamaba Abía, hija de Zacarías.
2 He pleased the LORD just as his forefather David had done.	2 Hizo lo recto a los ojos de Yahveh, enteramente como David su padre.
3 It was he who, in the first month of the first year of his reign, opened the doors of the LORD'S house and repaired them.	3 En el año primero de su reinado, el primer mes, abrió las puertas de la Casa de Yahveh y las reparó.
4 He summoned the priests and Levites, gathered them in the open space to the east,	4 Hizo venir a los sacerdotes y levitas, los reunió en la plaza oriental,
5 and said to them: "Listen to me, you Levites! Sanctify yourselves now and sanctify the house of the LORD, the God of your fathers, and clean out the filth from the sanctuary.	5 y les dijo: «¡Escuchadme, levitas! Santificaos ahora y santificad la Casa de Yahveh, el Dios de vuestros padres; y sacad fuera del santuario la inmundicia.
6 Our fathers acted faithlessly and did evil in the eyes of the LORD, our God. They abandoned him, turned away their faces from the LORD'S dwelling, and turned their backs on him.	6 Porque nuestros padres han sido infieles haciendo lo malo a los ojos de Yahveh, nuestro Dios; le han abandonado, y apartando sus rostros de la Morada de Yahveh, le han vuelto la espalda.
7 They also closed the doors of the vestibule, extinguished the lamps, and refused to burn incense and offer holocausts in the sanctuary to the honor of the God of Israel.	7 Hasta llegaron a cerrar las puertas del Vestíbulo, apagaron las lámparas, y no quemaron incienso ni ofrecieron holocaustos en el santuario al Dios de Israel.
8 Therefore the anger of the LORD has come upon Judah and Jerusalem; he has made them an object of terror, astonishment and mockery, as you see with your own eyes.	8 Por eso la ira de Yahveh ha venido sobre Judá y Jerusalén, y él los ha convertido en objeto de espanto, terror y rechifla, como lo estáis viendo con vuestros ojos.
9 For our fathers, as you know, fell by the sword, and our sons, our daughters and our wives have been taken captive because of this.	9 Por esto han caído a espada nuestros padres; y nuestros hijos, hijas y mujeres se hallan en cautividad.
10 Now, I intend to make a covenant with the LORD, the God of Israel, that his burning anger may withdraw from us.	10 Pero ahora he decidido en mi corazón hacer alianza con Yahveh, el Dios de Israel, para que aparte de nosotros el furor de su ira.
11 My sons, be not negligent any longer, for it is you whom the LORD has chosen to stand before him, to minister to him, to be his ministers and to offer incense."	11 Hijos míos, no seáis ahora negligentes; porque Yahveh os ha elegido a vosotros para que estéis en su presencia y le sirváis para ser sus ministros y para quemarle incienso».
12 Then the Levites arose: Mahath, son of Amasai, and Joel, son of Azariah, descendants of the Kohathites; of the sons of Merari: Kish, son of Abdi, and Azariah, son of Jehallel; of the Gershonites: Joah, son of Zimmah, and Eden, son of Joah;	12 Levantáronse entonces los levitas Májat, hijo de Amasay, y Joel, hijo de Azarías, de los hijos de Quehat; Quis, hijo de Abdí, y Azarías, hijo de Yallelel, de los hijos de Merarí; Yoaj, hijo de Zimmá, y Eden, hijo de Yoaj, de los hijos de los guersonitas;
13 of the sons of Elizaphan: Shimri and Jeuel; of the sons of Asaph: Zechariah and Mattaniah;	13 Simrí y Yeiel, de los hijos de Elisafán; Zacarías y Mattanías, de los hijos de Asaf;
14 of the sons of Heman: Jehuel and Shimei; of the sons of Jeduthun: Shemiah and Uzziel.	14 Yejiel y Simí, de los hijos de Hemán; Semaías y Uzziel, de los hijos de Yedutún.
15 They gathered their brethren together and sanctified themselves; then they came as the king had ordered, to cleanse the LORD'S house in keeping with his words.	15 Estos reunieron a sus hermanos, se santificaron y vinieron a purificar la Casa de Yahveh, conforme al mandato del rey, según las palabras de Yahveh.
16 The priests entered the interior of the LORD'S house to cleanse it; and whatever they found in the LORD'S temple that was unclean they brought out to the court of the LORD'S house, where the Levites took it from them and carried it out to the Kidron Valley.	16 Los sacerdotes entraron en el interior de la Casa de Yahveh para purificarla, y sacaron al atrio de la Casa de Yahveh todas las impurezas que encontraron en el santuario de Yahveh. Los levitas, por su parte, las amontonaron para llevarlas fuera, al torrente de Cedrón.
17 They began the work of consecration on the first day of the first month, and on the eighth day of the month they arrived at the vestibule of the LORD; they consecrated the LORD'S house during eight days, and on the sixteenth day of the first month, they had finished.	17 Comenzaron la consagración el día primero del primer mes, y el día octavo del mes llegaron al Vestíbulo de Yahveh; pasaron ocho días consagrando la Casa de Yahveh y el día dieciséis del mes primero habían acabado.
18 Then they went inside to King Hezekiah and said: "We have cleansed the entire house of the LORD, the altar of holocausts with all its utensils, and the table for the showbread with all its utensils.	18 Fueron luego a las habitaciones del rey Ezequías y le dijeron: «Hemos purificado toda la Casa de Yahveh, el altar del holocausto con todos sus utensilios, y la mesa de las filas de pan con todos sus utensilios.
19 All the articles which King Ahaz during his reign had thrown away because of his apostasy, we have restored and consecrated, and they are now before the LORD'S altar."	19 Hemos preparado y santificado todos los objetos que profanó el rey Ajaz durante su reinado con su infidelidad, y están ante el altar de Yahveh».
20 Then King Hezekiah hastened to convoke the princes of the city and went up to the LORD'S house.	20 Entonces se levantó el rey Ezequías de mañana, reunió a los jefes de la ciudad y subió a la Casa de Yahveh
21 Seven bulls, seven rams, seven lambs and seven he-goats were brought for a sin offering for the kingdom, for the sanctuary, and for Judah, and he ordered the sons of Aaron, the priests, to offer them on the altar of the LORD.	21 Trajeron siete novillos, siete carneros, siete corderos y siete machos cabríos para el sacrificio por el pecado en favor del reino, del santuario y de Judá; y mandó a los sacerdotes, hijos de Aarón, que ofreciesen holocaustos sobre el altar de Yahveh.
22 They slaughtered the bulls, and the priests collected the blood and cast it on the altar. Then they slaughtered the rams and cast the blood on the altar; then they slaughtered the lambs and cast the blood on the altar.	22 Inmolaron los novillos, y los sacerdotes recogieron la sangre y rociaron el altar; luego inmolaron los carneros y rociaron con su sangre el altar; degollaron igualmente los corderos y rociaron con la sangre el altar.
23 Then the he-goats for the sin offering were led before the king and the assembly, who laid their hands upon them.	23 Acercaron después los machos cabríos por el pecado, ante el rey y la asamblea, y éstos pusieron las manos sobre ellos;
24 The priests then slaughtered them and offered their blood on the altar to atone for the sin of all Israel; for "The holocaust and the sin offering," the king had said, "is for all Israel."	24 los sacerdotes los inmolaron y ofrecieron la sangre en sacrificio por el pecado junto al altar como expiación por todo Israel; porque el rey había ordenado que el holocausto y el sacrificio por el pecado fuese por todo Israel.
25 He stationed the Levites in the LORD'S house with cymbals, harps and lyres according to the prescriptions of David, of Gad the king's seer, and of Nathan the prophet; for the prescriptions were from the LORD through his prophets.	25 Luego estableció en la Casa de Yahveh a los levitas con címbalos, salterios y cítaras, según las disposiciones de David, de Gad, vidente del rey, y de Natán, profeta; pues de mano de Yahveh había venido ese mandamiento, por medio de sus profetas.
26 The Levites were stationed with the instruments of David, and the priests with the trumpets.	26 Cuando ocuparon su sitio los levitas con los instrumentos de David, y los sacerdotes con las trompetas,
27 Then Hezekiah ordered the holocaust to be sacrificed on the altar, and in the same instant that the holocaust began, they also began the song of the LORD, to the accompaniment of the trumpets and the instruments of David, king of Israel.	27 mandó Ezequías ofrecer el holocausto sobre el altar. Y al comenzar el holocausto, comenzaron también los cantos de Yahveh, al son de las trompetas y con el acompañamiento de los instrumentos de David, rey de Israel.
28 The entire assembly prostrated itself, and they continued to sing the song and to sound the trumpets until the holocaust had been completed.	28 Toda la asamblea estaba postrada, se cantaban cánticos y las trompetas sonaban. Todo ello duró hasta que fue consumido el holocausto.
29 As the holocaust was completed, the king and all who were with him knelt and prostrated themselves.	29 Consumido el holocausto, el rey y todos los presentes doblaron las rodillas y se postraron.
30 King Hezekiah and the princes then commanded the Levites to sing the praises of the LORD in the words of David and of Asaph the seer. They sang praises till their joy was full, then fell down and prostrated themselves.	30 Después, el rey Ezequías y los jefes mandaron a los levitas que alabasen a Yahveh con las palabras de David y del vidente Asaf; y ellos cantaron alabanzas hasta la exaltación, e inclinándose, adoraron.
31 Hezekiah now spoke out this command: "You have undertaken a work for the LORD. Approach, and bring forward the sacrifices and thank offerings for the house of the LORD." Then the assembly brought forward the sacrifices and thank offerings and all the holocausts which were free-will offerings.	31 Después tomó Ezequías la palabra y dijo: «Ahora estáis enteramente consagrados a Yahveh; acercaos y ofreced víctimas y sacrificios de alabanza en la Casa de Yahveh». Y la asamblea trajo sacrificios en acción de gracias, y los de corazón generoso, también holocaustos.
32 The number of holocausts that the assembly brought forward was seventy oxen, one hundred rams, and two hundred lambs: all of these as a holocaust to the LORD.	32 El número de los holocaustos ofrecidos por la asamblea fue de setenta bueyes; cien carneros y doscientos corderos; todos ellos en holocausto a Yahveh.
33 As consecrated gifts there were six hundred oxen and three thousand sheep.	33 Se consagraron también seiscientos bueyes y 3.000 ovejas.
34 Since the priests were too few in number to be able to skin all the victims for the holocausts, their brethren the Levites assisted them until the task was completed and the priests had sanctified themselves; the Levites, in fact, were more willing than the priests to sanctify themselves.	34 Pero como los sacerdotes eran pocos y no bastaban para desollar todos estos holocaustos, les ayudaron sus hermanos los levitas, hasta que terminaron la labor, y los sacerdotes se santificaron, pues los levitas estaban más dispuestos que los sacerdotes para santificarse.
35 Also, the holocausts were many, along with the fat of the peace offerings and the libations for the holocausts. Thus the service of the house of the LORD was reestablished.	35 Hubo, además, muchos holocaustos de grasa de los sacrificios de comunión y libaciones para el holocausto. Así quedó restablecido el culto de la Casa de Yahveh.
36 Hezekiah and all the people rejoiced over what God had reestablished for the people, and at how suddenly this had been done.	36 Ezequías y el pueblo entero se regocijaron de que Dios hubiera dispuesto al pueblo; pues todo se hizo rápidamente.
