1 Hierauf versammelte sich die ganze Volksgemeinde der Israeliten in Silo und schlug dort das Offenbarungszelt auf; denn das Land lag unterworfen vor ihnen da.	1 After they had subdued the land, the whole community of the Israelites assembled at Shiloh, where they set up the meeting tent.
2 Nun waren aber unter den Israeliten noch sieben Stämme übrig, deren Erbbesitz man noch nicht ausgeteilt hatte.	2 Seven tribes among the Israelites had not yet received their heritage.
3 Da sagte Josua zu den Israeliten: »Wie lange wollt ihr noch lässig bleiben, statt hinzugehen, um das Land in Besitz zu nehmen, das der HERR, der Gott eurer Väter, euch gegeben hat?	3 Joshua therefore said to the Israelites, "How much longer will you put off taking steps to possess the land which the LORD, the God of your fathers, has given you?
4 Bestimmt doch drei Männer aus jedem Stamm, so will ich sie aussenden, damit sie sich daranmachen, das Land zu durchwandern und es schriftlich aufzunehmen mit Rücksicht auf den für sie erforderlichen Erbbesitz. Wenn sie dann zu mir zurückgekommen sind,	4 Choose three men from each of your tribes; I will commission them to begin a survey of the land, which they shall describe for purposes of inheritance. When they return to me
5 mögen sie es in sieben Teile unter sich verteilen. Juda soll sein Gebiet im Süden behalten und das Haus Josephs auf seinem Gebiet im Norden bleiben;	5 you shall divide it into seven parts. Judah is to retain its territory in the south, and the house of Joseph its territory in the north.
6 ihr aber fertigt schriftlich eine Übersicht des Landes bei Zerlegung in sieben Teile an und bringt die Aufzeichnung mir hierher, so will ich das Los für euch werfen hier vor dem HERRN, unserm Gott.	6 You shall bring here to me the description of the land in seven sections. I will then cast lots for you here before the LORD, our God.
7 Denn die Leviten erhalten keinen Landbesitz unter euch, weil das Priestertum des HERRN ihr Erbteil ist; Gad aber und Ruben und der halbe Stamm Manasse haben ihren Erbbesitz bereits im Ostjordanlande empfangen, den ihnen Mose, der Knecht Gottes, angewiesen hat.«	7 For the Levites have no share among you, because the priesthood of the LORD is their heritage; while Gad, Reuben, and the half-tribe of Manasseh have already received the heritage east of the Jordan which Moses, the servant of the LORD, gave them."
8 Da machten sich die Männer auf den Weg, und Josua gab ihnen, als sie zur schriftlichen Aufnahme des Landes aufbrachen, die Weisung: »Geht hin, durchwandert das Land und nehmt es schriftlich auf; dann kommt wieder zu mir, so will ich hier zu Silo das Los für euch vor dem HERRN werfen.«	8 When those who were to map out the land were ready for the journey, Joshua instructed them to survey the land, prepare a description of it, and return to him; then he would cast lots for them there before the LORD in Shiloh.
9 So machten sich denn die Männer auf den Weg, zogen durch das Land und trugen es Stadt für Stadt unter Zerlegung in sieben Teile in ein Buch ein; dann kehrten sie zu Josua ins Lager nach Silo zurück.	9 So they went through the land, listed its cities in writing in seven sections, and returned to Joshua in the camp at Shiloh.
10 Da warf Josua das Los für sie zu Silo vor dem HERRN, und Josua verteilte dort das Land unter die Israeliten, wie es ihren Anteilen (oder: Abteilungen) entsprach.	10 Joshua then divided up the land for the Israelites into their separate shares, casting lots for them before the LORD in Shiloh.
11 So kam denn das Los für die Geschlechter des Stammes Benjamin heraus, und zwar kam das Gebiet, das ihnen durchs Los zufiel, zwischen die Stämme Juda und Joseph zu liegen.	11 One lot fell to the clans of the tribe of Benjaminites. The territory allotted them lay between the descendants of Judah and those of Joseph.
12 Ihre Nordgrenze begann aber am Jordan, zieht sich dann aufwärts nach dem Bergzuge nördlich von Jericho und von da auf das Gebirge nach Westen zu und endet nach der Wüste von Beth-Awen hin.	12 Their northern boundary began at the Jordan and went over the northern flank of Jericho, up westward into the mountains, till it reached the desert of Beth-aven.
13 Von dort geht die Grenze dann nach Lus hinüber, nach dem Höhenzuge südlich von Lus, das ist Bethel; dann senkt sich die Grenze hinab nach Ateroth-Addar über den Berg, der südlich von Unter-Beth-Horon liegt.	13 From there it crossed over to the southern flank of Luz (that is, Bethel). Then it ran down to Ataroth-addar, on the mountaintop south of Lower Beth-horon.
14 Sodann zieht die Grenze in veränderter Richtung auf ihrer Westseite nach Süden von dem Berg an, der südlich Beth-Horon gegenüber liegt, und endet bei Kirjath-Baal, das ist die judäische Stadt Kirjath-Jearim. Dies ist die Westseite.	14 For the western border, the boundary line swung south from the mountaintop opposite Bethhoron till it reached Kiriath-baal (that is, Kiriath-jearim), which city belonged to the Judahites. This was the western boundary.
15 Die Südseite aber beginnt bei der Stadtgrenze von Kirjath-Jearim und setzt sich dann westwärts fort nach der Quelle des Wassers von Nephthoah;	15 The southern boundary began at the limits of Kiriath-jearim and projected to the spring at Nephtoah.
16 dann läuft die Grenze hinab bis an das Ende des Berges, der östlich vom Tal Ben-Hinnom und nördlich von der Talebene Rephaim liegt, zieht dann in das Hinnomtal hinab südlich vom Bergrücken der Jebusiter und weiter hinab zur Quelle Rogel (d.h. Walkerquelle);	16 It went down to the edge of the mountain on the north of the Valley of Rephaim, where it faces the Valley of Ben-hinnom; and continuing down the Valley of Hinnom along the southern flank of the Jebusites, reached En-rogel.
17 alsdann läuft sie mit veränderter Richtung nordwärts, und zwar nach En-Semes und weiter nach Geliloth (= Gilgal) hin, das der Anhöhe Adummim gegenüber liegt, senkt sich dann hinab zum Felsen Bohans, des Sohnes Rubens,	17 Inclining to the north, it extended to En-shemesh, and thence to Geliloth, opposite the pass of Adummim. Then it dropped to Eben-Bohan-ben-Reuben,
18 und geht hinüber zu dem Höhenzug, der nordwärts der Araba gegenüber liegt; hierauf senkt die Grenze sich in die Araba hinab,	18 across the northern flank of the Arabah overlook, down into the Aarabah.
19 läuft dann hinüber bis nördlich vom Bergrücken von Beth-Hogla und erreicht ihr Ende an der Nordspitze des Salzmeeres, am südlichen Ende des Jordans. Dies ist die Südgrenze.	19 From there the boundary continued across the northern flank of Beth-hoglah and extended to the northern tip of the Salt Sea, at the southern end of the Jordan. This was the southern boundary.
20 Der Jordan aber bildet die Grenze auf der Ostseite. Dies ist der Erbbesitz der Geschlechter des Stammes Benjamin nach seinen Grenzen ringsum.	20 The Jordan bounded it on the east. This was how the heritage of the clans of the Benjaminites was bounded on all sides.
21 Die Städte der Geschlechter des Stammes Benjamin aber sind: Jericho, Beth-Hogla, Emek-Keziz,	21 Now the cities belonging to the clans of the tribe of the Benjaminites were: Jericho, Beth-hoglah, Emek-keziz,
22 Beth-Araba, Zemaraim, Bethel,	22 Beth-arabah, Zemaraim, Bethel,
23 Awwim, Para, Ophra,	23 Avvim, Parah, Ophrah,
24 Kephar-Ammoni, Ophni und Geba: 12 Städte mit den zugehörigen Dörfern;	24 Chephar-ammoni, Ophni and Geba; twelve cities and their villages.
25 Gibeon, Rama, Beeroth,	25 Also Gibeon, Ramah, Beeroth,
26 Mizpe, Kephira, Moza,	26 Mizpeh, Chephirah, Mozah,
27 Rekem, Jirpeel, Tharala,	27 Rekem, Irpeel, Taralah,
28 Zela, Eleph und die Jebusiterstadt, das ist Jerusalem, Gibeath, Kirjath: 14 Städte mit den zugehörigen Dörfern. Das ist der Erbbesitz der Geschlechter des Stammes Benjamin.	28 Zela, Haeleph, the Jebusite city (that is, Jerusalem), Gibeah and Kiriath; fourteen cities and their villages.
