1 Weiter gebot der HERR dem Mose in der Wüste Sinai im zweiten Jahr nach ihrem Auszug aus dem Lande Ägypten, im ersten Monat, folgendes:	1 And the LORD spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the first month of the second year after they had come out of the land of Egypt, saying,
2 »Die Israeliten sollen das Passah zur festgesetzten Zeit feiern:	2 "Let the people of Israel keep the passover at its appointed time.
3 am vierzehnten Tage in diesem Monat gegen Abend sollt ihr es zur festgesetzten Zeit feiern; nach allen darauf bezüglichen Bestimmungen und nach allen dafür geltenden Vorschriften sollt ihr es feiern.«	3 On the fourteenth day of this month, in the evening, you shall keep it at its appointed time; according to all its statutes and all its ordinances you shall keep it."
4 Da befahl Mose den Israeliten, das Passah zu feiern;	4 So Moses told the people of Israel that they should keep the passover.
5 und sie feierten es im ersten Monat, am vierzehnten Tage des Monats, gegen Abend in der Wüste Sinai; ganz wie der HERR dem Mose geboten hatte, so verfuhren die Israeliten dabei.	5 And they kept the passover in the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, in the evening, in the wilderness of Sinai; according to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so the people of Israel did.
6 Nun waren aber einige Männer da, die sich an einer Menschenleiche verunreinigt hatten und deshalb das Passah an jenem Tage nicht feiern konnten. Diese traten nun an jenem Tage vor Mose und Aaron	6 And there were certain men who were unclean through touching the dead body of a man, so that they could not keep the passover on that day; and they came before Moses and Aaron on that day;
7 und sagten zu ihm: »Wir sind durch eine Menschenleiche unrein geworden: warum sollen wir benachteiligt werden, daß wir die Opfergabe für den HERRN nicht zur festgesetzten Zeit inmitten der Israeliten darbringen dürfen?«	7 and those men said to him, "We are unclean through touching the dead body of a man; why are we kept from offering the LORD's offering at its appointed time among the people of Israel?"
8 Mose antwortete ihnen: »Wartet, ich will hören, was der HERR euretwegen anordnet!«	8 And Moses said to them, "Wait, that I may hear what the LORD will command concerning you."
9 Der HERR aber gebot dem Mose folgendes:	9 The LORD said to Moses,
10 »Teile den Israeliten folgende Verordnungen mit: Wenn irgend jemand von euch oder von euren Nachkommen sich an einer Leiche verunreinigt hat oder sich auf einer Reise in der Ferne befindet, so soll er doch das Passah zu Ehren des HERRN feiern:	10 "Say to the people of Israel, If any man of you or of your descendants is unclean through touching a dead body, or is afar off on a journey, he shall still keep the passover to the LORD.
11 im zweiten Monat, am vierzehnten Tage, gegen Abend sollen die Betreffenden es feiern; mit ungesäuertem Brot und bitteren Kräutern sollen sie es verzehren.	11 In the second month on the fourteenth day in the evening they shall keep it; they shall eat it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs.
12 Sie dürfen nichts davon bis zum folgenden Morgen übriglassen, auch keinen Knochen an ihm zerbrechen; nach allen für das Passah geltenden Bestimmungen sollen sie es feiern.	12 They shall leave none of it until the morning, nor break a bone of it; according to all the statute for the passover they shall keep it.
13 Wer aber rein ist und sich auf keiner Reise befindet und die Passahfeier trotzdem unterläßt, ein solcher Mensch soll aus seinen Volksgenossen ausgerottet werden, weil er dem HERRN die Opfergabe nicht zur festgesetzten Zeit dargebracht hat: ein solcher Mensch soll für seine Sünde büßen! –	13 But the man who is clean and is not on a journey, yet refrains from keeping the passover, that person shall be cut off from his people, because he did not offer the LORD's offering at its appointed time; that man shall bear his sin.
14 Wenn ferner ein Fremdling sich unter euch aufhält und dem HERRN das Passah feiern will, so soll er es nach den für das Passah geltenden Bestimmungen und Vorschriften feiern; die gleichen Bestimmungen sollen für euch gelten, sowohl für den Fremdling als auch für den im Lande Geborenen (oder: Einheimischen).«	14 And if a stranger sojourns among you, and will keep the passover to the LORD, according to the statute of the passover and according to its ordinance, so shall he do; you shall have one statute, both for the sojourner and for the native."
15 An dem Tage aber, an welchem man die heilige Wohnung aufgeschlagen hatte, bedeckte die Wolke die Wohnung, nämlich das Zelt mit dem Gesetz; doch am Abend lag sie über der Wohnung wie ein Feuerschein bis zum Morgen.	15 On the day that the tabernacle was set up, the cloud covered the tabernacle, the tent of the testimony; and at evening it was over the tabernacle like the appearance of fire until morning.
16 So blieb es die ganze Folgezeit hindurch: die Wolke bedeckte die Wohnung, und zwar nachts als ein Feuerschein.	16 So it was continually; the cloud covered it by day, and the appearance of fire by night.
17 Sobald sich nun die Wolke von dem Zelt erhob, brachen die Israeliten alsbald danach auf; und an dem Orte, wo die Wolke sich wieder niederließ, da lagerten die Israeliten:	17 And whenever the cloud was taken up from over the tent, after that the people of Israel set out; and in the place where the cloud settled down, there the people of Israel encamped.
18 nach dem Befehl des HERRN brachen die Israeliten auf, und nach dem Befehl des HERRN lagerten sie; solange die Wolke ruhig über der Wohnung lag, so lange blieben sie gelagert.	18 At the command of the LORD the people of Israel set out, and at the command of the LORD they encamped; as long as the cloud rested over the tabernacle, they remained in camp.
19 Auch wenn die Wolke viele Tage lang über der Wohnung stehen blieb, beobachteten die Israeliten die Weisung (oder: das Geheiß) des HERRN und zogen nicht weiter.	19 Even when the cloud continued over the tabernacle many days, the people of Israel kept the charge of the LORD, and did not set out.
20 Es kam aber auch vor, daß die Wolke nur wenige Tage über der Wohnung stehen blieb – nach dem Befehl des HERRN lagerten sie, und nach dem Befehl des HERRN brachen sie auf.	20 Sometimes the cloud was a few days over the tabernacle, and according to the command of the LORD they remained in camp; then according to the command of the LORD they set out.
21 Es kam auch vor, daß die Wolke nur vom Abend bis zum Morgen blieb; wenn sie sich dann am Morgen erhob, so brach man auf; oder wenn die Wolke einen Tag und eine Nacht blieb und sich dann erhob, so brach man auf;	21 And sometimes the cloud remained from evening until morning; and when the cloud was taken up in the morning, they set out, or if it continued for a day and a night, when the cloud was taken up they set out.
22 oder wenn die Wolke zwei Tage oder einen Monat oder noch längere Zeit blieb, indem die Wolke über der Wohnung Halt machte und auf ihr ruhte, so blieben die Israeliten gelagert und brachen nicht auf; sobald sie sich aber erhob, brachen sie auf:	22 Whether it was two days, or a month, or a longer time, that the cloud continued over the tabernacle, abiding there, the people of Israel remained in camp and did not set out; but when it was taken up they set out.
23 nach dem Geheiß des HERRN blieben sie gelagert, und nach dem Geheiß des HERRN brachen sie auf: sie beobachteten die Weisung des HERRN nach dem durch Mose übermittelten Geheiß des HERRN.	23 At the command of the LORD they encamped, and at the command of the LORD they set out; they kept the charge of the LORD, at the command of the LORD by Moses.
