Lettera a Tito 3

1 Rammenta loro, che siano soggetti ai principi, e alle potestà, che siano ubbidienti, che siano pronti ad ogni buona opera:	1 Admonish them to be subordinate to the rulers and authorities, to obey their dictates, to be prepared for every good work,
2 Che non dican male di alcuno, che non siano amanti delle liti, ma modesti, e che tutta la mansuetudine dimostrino l'uso di tutti gli uomini.	2 to speak evil of no one, not to be litigious, but to be reserved, displaying all meekness toward all men.
3 Imperocché eravamo una volta anche noi stolti, increduli, erranti, schiavi delle cupidità, e di varj piaceri, viventi nella malizia, e nell'invidia, degni d'odio, e odiando altrui.	3 For, in times past, we ourselves were also unwise, unbelieving, erring, servants of various desires and pleasures, acting with malice and envy, being hateful and hating one another.
4 Ma allorché apparve la benignità, e l'amore del salvatore Dio nostro;	4 But then the kindness and humanity of God our Savior appeared.
5 Non per le opere di giustizia fatte da noi, ma per sua misericordia ci fece; salvi mediante la lavanda di rigenerazione, e di rinnovellamento dello Spirito santo,	5 And he saved us, not by works of justice that we had done, but, in accord with his mercy, by the washing of regeneration and by the renovation of the Holy Spirit,
6 Cui egli difuse in noi copiosamente per Gesù Cristo salvator nostro:	6 whom he has poured out upon us in abundance, through Jesus Christ our Savior,
7 Affinchè giustificati per la grazia di lui siamo secondo la speranza eredi della vita eterna.	7 so that, having been justified by his grace, we may become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
8 Parola fedele è questa: e queste cose voglio, che siano da te stabilite: affinchè quelli, che credono a Dio, proccurino di star intenti alle buone opere. Questo è quello, che è buono, ed utile per gli uomini.	8 This is a faithful saying. And I want you to confirm these things, so that those who believe in God may take care to excel in good works. These things are good and useful to men.
9 Ma le pazze questioni, e le genealogie, e le dispute, e le battaglie legali sfuggile, conciossiachè sono inutili, e vane.	9 But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, as well as arguments against the law. For these are useless and empty.
10 L'uomo eretico dopo la prima, e la seconda correzione sfuggilo:	10 Avoid a man who is a heretic, after the first and second correction,
11 Sapendo, che questo tale è pervertito, e pecca, come quegli che per suo proprio giudizio è condannato.	11 knowing that one who is like this has been subverted, and that he offends; for he has been condemned by his own judgment.
12 Quando avrò mandato da te Artema, o Tichico, affrettati a venir da me a Nicopoli: imperocché ivi ho determinato di passar il verno.	12 When I send Artemas or Tychicus to you, hurry to return to me at Nicopolis. For I have decided to winter there.
13 Spedisci avanti sollecitamente Zena dottor di legge, e Apollo, (e fa' si) che nulla manchi ad essi.	13 Send Zenas the lawyer and Apollo ahead with care, and let nothing be lacking to them.
14 E imparino anche i nostri a soprastare per le buone opere alle occorrenze, necessarie: affinchè non siano disutili.	14 But let our men also learn to excel in good works pertaining to the necessities of life, so that they may not be unfruitful.
15 Ti salutano tutti quelli, che sono con me: saluta quelli, che ci amano nella fede. La grazia di Dio con tutti voi. Così sia.	15 All those who are with me greet you. Greet those who love us in the faith. May the grace of God be with you all. Amen.
