KING JAMES BIBLESacra Bibbia Garofalo
Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves' eyes within thy locks: thy hair is as a flock of goats, that appear from mount Gilead.1 Come sei bella, mia amica, come sei bella! I tuoi occhi sono come colombe dietro il tuo velo; la tua è chioma d’un gregge di capre che scende dal monte di Galaad.
Thy teeth are like a flock of sheep that are even shorn, which came up from the washing; whereof every one bear twins, and none is barren among them.2 I tuoi denti sono come pecore da tosare quando salgono dal lavacro: tutti vanno appaiati e non c’è chi è senza compagno.
Thy lips are like a thread of scarlet, and thy speech is comely: thy temples are like a piece of a pomegranate within thy locks.3 Come nastro di porpora le tue labbra, la tua bocca è un invito; spicchio di melograno sono le tue gote dietro il tuo velo.
Thy neck is like the tower of David builded for an armoury, whereon there hang a thousand bucklers, all shields of mighty men.4 Il tuo collo è come torre di David, costruita per dominare la valle: mille scudi vi sono appesi, tutte armature di prodi. o
Thy two breasts are like two young roes that are twins, which feed among the lilies.5 I tuoi seni sono come due caprioli, due gemelli di gazzella, che pascolano fra gli anemoni.
Until the day break, and the shadows flee away, I will get me to the mountain of myrrh, and to the hill of frankincense.6 Quando spirerà il giorno e si diffonderanno le ombre, andrò ancora al monte della mirra e al colle dell’incenso.
Thou art all fair, my love; there is no spot in thee.7 Tu sei tutta bella, amica mia e in te non c’è alcuna macchia.
Come with me from Lebanon, my spouse, with me from Lebanon: look from the top of Amana, from the top of Shenir and Hermon, from the lions' dens, from the mountains of the leopards.8 Verrei dal Libano, o sposa, dal Libano accorrerei; scenderei dalle vette dell’Amana, dai picchi del Senir e dell’Hermon, dalle tane dei leoni, dalle balze dei leopardi,
Thou hast ravished my heart, my sister, my spouse; thou hast ravished my heart with one of thine eyes, with one chain of thy neck.9 perché mi hai rapito il cuore, o mia sorella, sposa, mi hai rapito il cuore con uno dei tuoi occhi, con una gemma della tua collana.
How fair is thy love, my sister, my spouse! how much better is thy love than wine! and the smell of thine ointments than all spices!10 Come sono amabili le tue carezze, o mia sorella, sposa, più inebrianti del vino; l’aroma dei tuoi profumi è più di ogni balsamo.
Thy lips, O my spouse, drop as the honeycomb: honey and milk are under thy tongue; and the smell of thy garments is like the smell of Lebanon.11 Turgido favo le tue labbra, sposa, miele e latte la tua lingua, il profumo delle tue vesti è come il profumo del Libano.
A garden inclosed is my sister, my spouse; a spring shut up, a fountain sealed.12 Giardino ben cintato sei, o mia sorella, o sposa, giardino ben cintato, fonte sigillata:
Thy plants are an orchard of pomegranates, with pleasant fruits; camphire, with spikenard,13 i tuoi rivi fanno un giardino di melograni con frutti squisiti: alchenna con nardo,
Spikenard and saffron; calamus and cinnamon, with all trees of frankincense; myrrh and aloes, with all the chief spices:14 nardo e croco, cannella e cinnamomo con ogni pianta d’incenso, piante d’incenso d’ogni qualità, mirra, aloe con i balsami più fini.
A fountain of gardens, a well of living waters, and streams from Lebanon.15 La fonte del mio giardino è polla d’acque vive e ruscelli che sgorgano dal Libano.
Awake, O north wind; and come, thou south; blow upon my garden, that the spices thereof may flow out. Let my beloved come into his garden, and eat his pleasant fruits.16 Levati, aquilone, e vieni, austro! Spira sul mio giardino e fluiscano i suoi aromi, venga il mio diletto nel suo giardino a saziarsi dei suoi ottimi frutti.
