1 To sam vam govorio da se ne sablaznite.	1 I have told you al this so that you may not fal away.
2 Izopćavat će vas iz sinagoga. Štoviše, dolazi čas kad će svaki koji vas ubije misliti da služi Bogu.	2 They wil expel you from the synagogues, and indeed the time is coming when anyone who kills youwil think he is doing a holy service to God.
3 A to će činiti jer ne upoznaše ni Oca ni mene.	3 They wil do these things because they have never known either the Father or me.
4 Govorio sam vam ovo da se, kada dođe vrijeme, sjetite da sam vam rekao.« »S početka vam ne rekoh ovo jer bijah s vama.	4 But I have told you all this, so that when the time for it comes you may remember that I told you. I didnot tell you this from the beginning, because I was with you;
5 A sada odlazim k onome koji me posla i nitko me od vas ne pita: ‘Kamo ideš?’	5 but now I am going to the one who sent me. Not one of you asks, 'Where are you going?'
6 Naprotiv, žalošću se ispunilo vaše srce što vam ovo kazah.	6 Yet you are sad at heart because I have told you this.
7 No kažem vam istinu: bolje je za vas da ja odem: jer ako ne odem, Branitelj neće doći k vama; ako pak odem, poslat ću ga k vama.	7 Stil , I am telling you the truth: it is for your own good that I am going, because unless I go, theParaclete wil not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.
8 A kad on dođe, pokazat će svijetu što je grijeh, što li pravednost, a što osuda:	8 And when he comes, he wil show the world how wrong it was, about sin, and about who was in theright, and about judgement:
9 grijeh je što ne vjeruju u mene;	9 about sin: in that they refuse to believe in me;
10 pravednost – što odlazim k Ocu i više me ne vidite;	10 about who was in the right: in that I am going to the Father and you will see me no more;
11 a osuda – što je knez ovoga svijeta osuđen.	11 about judgement: in that the prince of this world is already condemned.
12 Još vam mnogo imam kazati, ali sada ne možete nositi.	12 I still have many things to say to you but they would be too much for you to bear now.
13 No kada dođe on – Duh Istine – upućivat će vas u svu istinu; jer neće govoriti sam od sebe, nego će govoriti što čuje i navješćivat će vam ono što dolazi.	13 However, when the Spirit of truth comes he will lead you to the complete truth, since he wil not bespeaking of his own accord, but wil say only what he has been told; and he wil reveal to you the things to come.
14 On će mene proslavljati jer će od mojega uzimati i navješćivati vama.	14 He wil glorify me, since al he reveals to you wil be taken from what is mine.
15 Sve što ima Otac, moje je. Zbog toga vam rekoh: od mojega uzima i – navješćivat će vama.«	15 Everything the Father has is mine; that is why I said: all he reveals to you wil be taken from what ismine.
16 »Malo, i više me nećete vidjeti; i opet malo, pa ćete me vidjeti.«	16 In a short time you will no longer see me, and then a short time later you wil see me again.
17 Nato se neki od učenika zapitkivahu: »Što je to što nam kaže: ‘Malo, i nećete me vidjeti, i opet malo, pa ćete me vidjeti’ i ‘Odlazim Ocu’?«	17 Then some of his disciples said to one another, 'What does he mean, "In a short time you wil nolonger see me, and then a short time later you wil see me again," and, "I am going to the Father"?
18 Govorahu dakle: »Što je to što kaže ‘Malo’? Ne znamo što govori.«	18 What is this "short time"? We don't know what he means.'
19 Isus spozna da su ga htjeli pitati pa im reče: »Pitate se među sobom o tome što kazah: ‘Malo, i nećete me vidjeti; i opet malo, pa ćete me vidjeti’?	19 Jesus knew that they wanted to question him, so he said, 'You are asking one another what I meantby saying, "In a short time you wil no longer see me, and then a short time later you wil see me again."
20 Zaista, zaista, kažem vam: vi ćete plakati i jaukati, a svijet će se veseliti. Vi ćete se žalostiti, ali žalost će se vaša okrenuti u radost.	20 'In al truth I tell you, you wil be weeping and wailing while the world wil rejoice; you will be sorrowful,but your sorrow wil turn to joy.
21 Žena kad rađa, žalosna je jer je došao njezin čas; ali kad rodi djetešce, ne spominje se više muke od radosti što se čovjek rodio na svijet.	21 A woman in childbirth suffers, because her time has come; but when she has given birth to the childshe forgets the suffering in her joy that a human being has been born into the world.
22 Tako dakle i vi: sad ste u žalosti, no ja ću vas opet vidjeti; i srce će vam se radovati i radosti vaše nitko vam oteti neće.	22 So it is with you: you are sad now, but I shal see you again, and your hearts wil be ful of joy, andthat joy no one shal take from you.
23 U onaj me dan nećete ništa više pitati. Zaista, zaista, kažem vam: što god zaištete u Oca, dat će vam u moje ime.	23 When that day comes, you will not ask me any questions. In all truth I tel you, anything you ask fromthe Father he wil grant in my name.
24 Dosad niste iskali ništa u moje ime. Ištite i primit ćete da radost vaša bude potpuna!«	24 Until now you have not asked anything in my name. Ask and you wil receive, and so your joy wil becomplete.
25 »To sam vam govorio u poredbama. Dolazi čas kad vam više neću govoriti u poredbama, nego ću vam otvoreno navješćivati Oca.	25 I have been tel ing you these things in veiled language. The hour is coming when I shall no longerspeak to you in veiled language but tell you about the Father in plain words.
26 U onaj dan iskat ćete u moje ime i ne velim vam da ću ja moliti Oca za vas.	26 When that day comes you wil ask in my name; and I do not say that I shal pray to the Father for you,
27 Ta sâm vas Otac ljubi jer vi ste mene ljubili i vjerovali da sam ja od Boga izišao.	27 because the Father himself loves you for loving me, and believing that I came from God.
28 Izišao sam od Oca i došao na svijet. Opet ostavljam svijet i odlazim Ocu.«	28 I came from the Father and have come into the world and now I am leaving the world to go to theFather.'
29 Kažu mu učenici: »Evo, sad otvoreno zboriš i nikakvom se poredbom ne služiš.	29 His disciples said, 'Now you are speaking plainly and not using veiled language.
30 Sada znamo da sve znaš i ne treba da te tko pita. Stoga vjerujemo da si izišao od Boga.«	30 Now we see that you know everything and need not wait for questions to be put into words; becauseof this we believe that you came from God.'
31 Odgovori im Isus: »Sada vjerujete?	31 Jesus answered them: Do you believe at last?
32 Evo dolazi čas i već je došao: raspršit ćete se svaki na svoju stranu i mene ostaviti sáma. No ja nisam sâm jer Otac je sa mnom.	32 Listen; the time wil come -- indeed it has come already -- when you are going to be scattered, eachgoing his own way and leaving me alone. And yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.
33 To vam rekoh da u meni mir imate. U svijetu imate muku, ali hrabri budite – ja sam pobijedio svijet!«	33 I have told you al this so that you may find peace in me. In the world you wil have hardship, but becourageous: I have conquered the world.
