Prima lettera ai Corinzi - 1 Corinthians 5

1 Γενικως ακουεται οτι ειναι μεταξυ σας πορνεια, και τοιαυτη πορνεια, ητις ουδε μεταξυ των εθνων ονομαζεται, ωστε να εχη τις την γυναικα του πατρος αυτου.	1 It is widely reported that there is sexual immorality among you, immorality of a kind that is not foundeven among gentiles: that one of you is living with his stepmother.
2 Και σεις εισθε πεφυσιωμενοι, και δεν επενθησατε μαλλον, δια να εκβληθη εκ μεσου υμων ο πραξας το εργον τουτο.	2 And you so fil ed with your own self-importance! It would have been better if you had been grievingbitterly, so that the man who has done this thing were turned out of the community.
3 Διοτι εγω ως απων κατα το σωμα, παρων ομως κατα το πνευμα, εκρινα ηδη ως παρων τον ουτω πραξαντα τουτο,	3 For my part, however distant I am physical y, I am present in spirit and have already condemned theman who behaved in this way, just as though I were present in person.
4 εν τω ονοματι του Κυριου ημων Ιησου Χριστου αφου συναχθητε σεις και το εμον πνευμα με την δυναμιν του Κυριου ημων Ιησου Χριστου	4 When you have gathered together in the name of our Lord Jesus, with the presence of my spirit, and inthe power of our Lord Jesus,
5 να παραδωσητε τον τοιουτον εις τον Σαταναν προς ολεθρον της σαρκος, δια να σωθη το πνευμα αυτου εν τη ημερα του Κυριου Ιησου.	5 hand such a man over to Satan, to be destroyed as far as natural life is concerned, so that on the Dayof the Lord his spirit may be saved.
6 Δεν ειναι καλον το καυχημα σας. Δεν εξευρετε οτι ολιγη ζυμη καμνει ολον το φυραμα ενζυμον;	6 Your self-satisfaction is il founded. Do you not realise that only a little yeast leavens the whole batch ofdough?
7 Καθαρισθητε λοιπον απο της παλαιας ζυμης, δια να ησθε νεον φυραμα, καθως εισθε αζυμοι. Διοτι το πασχα ημων εθυσιασθη υπερ ημων, ο Χριστος?	7 Throw out the old yeast so that you can be the fresh dough, unleavened as you are. For our Passoverhas been sacrificed, that is, Christ;
8 ωστε ας εορταζωμεν ουχι με ζυμην παλαιαν, ουδε με ζυμην κακιας και πονηριας, αλλα με ενζυμα ειλικρινειας και αληθειας.	8 let us keep the feast, then, with none of the old yeast and no leavening of evil and wickedness, but onlythe unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
9 Σας εγραψα εν τη επιστολη να μη συναναστρεφησθε με πορνους,	9 In my letter, I wrote to you that you should have nothing to do with people living immoral lives.
10 και ουχι διολου με τους πορνους του κοσμου τουτου η με τους πλεονεκτας η αρπαγας η ειδωλολατρας? επειδη τοτε πρεπει να εξελθητε απο του κοσμου.	10 I was not including everybody in this present world who is sexually immoral, or everybody who isgreedy, or dishonest or worships false gods -- that would mean you would have to cut yourselves off completelyfrom the world.
11 Αλλα τωρα σας εγραψα να μη συναναστρεφησθε, εαν τις αδελφος ονομαζομενος ηναι πορνος η πλεονεκτης η ειδωλολατρης η λοιδορος η μεθυσος η αρπαξ? με τον τοιουτον μηδε να συντρωγητε.	11 In fact what I meant was that you were not to have anything to do with anyone going by the name ofbrother who is sexual y immoral, or is greedy, or worships false gods, or is a slanderer or a drunkard ordishonest; never even have a meal with anybody of that kind.
12 Διοτι τι με μελει να κρινω και τους εξω; δεν κρινετε σεις τους εσω;	12 It is no concern of mine to judge outsiders. It is for you to judge those who are inside, is it not?
13 Τους δε εξω ο Θεος θελει κρινει. Οθεν εκβαλετε τον κακον εκ μεσου υμων.	13 But outsiders are for God to judge. You must banish this evil-doer from among you.
