1 Ο λογος ο γενομενος προς τον Ιερεμιαν παρα Κυριου, λεγων,	1 The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying:
2 Στηθι εν τη πυλη του οικου του Κυριου και κηρυξον εκει τον λογον τουτον και ειπε, Ακουσατε τον λογον του Κυριου, παντες οι Ιουδα, οι δια των πυλων τουτων εισερχομενοι δια να προσκυνητε τον Κυριον.	2 “Stand at the gate to the house of the Lord, and preach this word there, and say: Listen to the word of the Lord, all you of Judah who enter through these gates to adore the Lord.
3 Ουτω λεγει ο Κυριος των δυναμεων, ο Θεος του Ισραηλ? Διορθωσατε τας οδους σας και τας πραξεις σας, και θελω σας στερεωσει εν τω τοπω τουτω.	3 Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Make your ways and your intentions good, and I will live with you in this place.
4 Μη πεποιθατε εις λογους ψευδεις, λεγοντες, Ο ναος του Κυριου, ο ναος του Κυριου, ο ναος του Κυριου ειναι ουτος.	4 Do not choose to trust in lying words, saying: ‘This is the temple of the Lord! The temple of the Lord! The temple of the Lord!’
5 Διοτι εαν αληθως διορθωσητε τας οδους σας και τας πραξεις σας? εαν εντελως εκτελεσητε κρισιν αναμεσον ανθρωπου και του πλησιον αυτου?	5 For if you direct your ways and your intentions well, if you exercise judgment between a man and his neighbor,
6 εαν δεν καταδυναστευητε τον ξενον, τον ορφανον και την χηραν, και δεν χυνητε αιμα αθωον εν τω τοπω τουτω μηδε περιπατητε οπισω ξενων θεων εις φθοραν σας?	6 if you do not act with deceit toward the new arrival, the orphan, and the widow, and if you do not pour out innocent blood in this place, and if you do not walk after strange gods, which is to your own harm,
7 τοτε θελω σας καμει να κατοικητε εν τω τοπω τουτω, εν τη γη την οποιαν εδωκα εις τους πατερας σας εις αιωνα αιωνος.	7 then I will live with you in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers from the beginning and even forever.
8 Ιδου, σεις πεποιθατε εις λογους ψευδεις, εκ των οποιων δεν θελετε ωφεληθη.	8 Behold, you trust in false words, which will not benefit you,
9 Κλεπτετε, φονευετε και μοιχευετε και ομνυετε ψευδως και θυμιαζετε εις τον Βααλ και περιπατειτε οπισω αλλων θεων, τους οποιους δεν γνωριζετε?	9 so as to steal, to murder, to commit adultery, to swear falsely, to offer libations to Baal, and to go after strange gods, which you do not know.
10 επειτα ερχεσθε και ιστασθε ενωπιον μου εν τω οικω τουτω, εφ' ον εκληθη το ονομα μου, και λεγετε, Ηλευθερωθημεν, δια να καμνητε παντα ταυτα τα βδελυγματα;	10 And you arrived and stood before me in this house, where my name is invoked, and you said: ‘We have been freed because we carried out all these abominations.’
11 Σπηλαιον ληστων εγεινεν ενωπιον σας ο οικος ουτος, εφ' ον εκληθη το ονομα μου; ιδου, αυτος εγω ειδον ταυτα, λεγει Κυριος.	11 So then, has this house, where my name has been invoked, become a den of robbers in your eyes? It is I, I am, I have seen, says the Lord.
12 Αλλ' υπαγετε τωρα εις τον τοπον μου τον εν Σηλω, οπου εθεσα το ονομα μου κατ' αρχας, και ιδετε τι εκαμον εις αυτον δια την κακιαν του λαου μου Ισραηλ.	12 Go to my place in Shiloh, where my name has lived from the beginning, and see what I did to it because of the wickedness of my people Israel.
13 Και τωρα, επειδη επραξατε παντα ταυτα τα εργα, λεγει Κυριος, και ελαλησα προς εσας, εγειρομενος πρωι και λαλων, και δεν ηκουσατε? και σας εκραξα και δεν απεκριθητε?	13 And now, because you have done all these works, says the Lord, and because I have spoken to you from your morning rising, and because I was speaking, but you were not listening, and because I have called you, but you have not responded:
14 δια τουτο θελω καμει εις τον οικον, εφ' ον εκληθη το ονομα μου, εις τον οποιον σεις θαρρειτε, και εις τον τοπον τον οποιον εδωκα εις εσας και εις τους πατερας σας, καθως εκαμα εις την Σηλω?	14 I will do to this house, in which my name is invoked, and in which you have confidence, even to this place which I gave to you and to your fathers, just as I have done to Shiloh.
15 και θελω σας απορριψει απο του προσωπου μου, καθως απερριψα παντας τους αδελφους σας, απαν το σπερμα του Εφραιμ.	15 And I will cast you away from my face, just as I have cast away all your brothers, the entire offspring of Ephraim.
16 Δια τουτο συ μη προσευχου υπερ του λαου τουτου και μη υψονε φωνην η δεησιν υπερ αυτων μηδε μεσιτευε προς εμε? διοτι δεν θελω σου εισακουσει.	16 Therefore, you should not pray for this people, nor take up praise and supplication on their behalf. And you should not stand in opposition to me. For then I will not heed you.
17 Δεν βλεπεις τι καμνουσιν αυτοι εν ταις πολεσι του Ιουδα και εν ταις οδοις της Ιερουσαλημ;	17 Have you not seen what they are doing in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?
18 Οι υιοι συλλεγουσι ξυλα και οι πατερες αναπτουσι το πυρ και αι γυναικες ζυμονουσι την ζυμην, δια να καμωσι πεμματα εις την βασιλισσαν του ουρανου και να καμωσι, σπονδας εις αλλους θεους, δια να με παροξυνωσι.	18 The sons gather the wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the wives spread the grease, so as to make cakes to the queen of heaven and to offer libations to strange gods, and so as to provoke me to anger.
19 Μηπως εμε παροξυνουσι; λεγει Κυριος? ουχι εαυτους προς καταισχυνην των προσωπων αυτων;	19 But are they provoking me to anger, says the Lord? Are they not provoking themselves, to the confusion of their own faces?”
20 Δια τουτο ουτω λεγει Κυριος ο Θεος? Ιδου, η οργη μου και ο θυμος μου εκχεονται επι τον τοπον τουτον, επι ανθρωπον και επι κτηνος και επι τα δενδρα του αγρου και επι τον καρπον της γης? και θελει εξαφθη και δεν θελει σβεσθη.	20 Therefore, thus says the Lord God: “Behold, my fury and my indignation is kindled against this place, over men and over beasts, and over the trees of the countryside and over the fruits of the land, and it will burn and not be extinguished.”
21 Ουτω λεγει ο Κυριος των δυναμεων, ο Θεος του Ισραηλ? προσθεσατε τα ολοκαυτωματα σας εις τας θυσιας σας και φαγετε κρεας.	21 Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: “Add your holocausts to your sacrifices, and eat the flesh.
22 Διοτι δεν ελαλησα προς τους πατερας σας ουδε εδωκα εις αυτους εντολας, καθ' ην ημεραν εξηγαγον αυτους εκ γης Αιγυπτου, περι ολοκαυτωματων και θυσιων?	22 For concerning the matter of holocausts and sacrifices, I did not speak with your fathers, and I did not instruct them, in the day when I led them away from the land of Egypt.
23 αλλα τον λογον τουτον προσεταξα εις αυτους, λεγων, Ακουσατε την φωνην μου και θελω εισθαι Θεος σας, και σεις θελετε εισθαι λαος μου? και περιπατειτε εν πασαις ταις οδοις, τας οποιας διωρισα εις εσας, δια να ευημερητε?	23 But on this matter I did instruct them, saying: Listen to my voice, and I will be your God, and you will be my people. And walk in the entire way that I have commanded you, so that it may be well with you.
24 πλην δεν ηκουσαν ουδε εκλιναν το ωτιον αυτων, αλλα περιεπατησαν εν ταις βουλαις, εν ταις ορεξεσι της πονηρας αυτων καρδιας, και υπηγον εις τα οπισω και ουχι εις τα εμπρος.	24 But they did not listen, nor did they incline their ear. Instead, they walked by their own will and in the depravity of their own wicked heart. And so, they went backward, and not forward,
25 Αφ' ης ημερας εξηλθον οι πατερες σας εκ γης Αιγυπτου εως της ημερας ταυτης, εξαπεστειλα προς εσας παντας τους δουλους μου τους προφητας, καθ' ημεραν εγειρομενος πρωι και αποστελλων?	25 from the day when their fathers went forth from the land of Egypt, even to this day. And I have sent all my servants, the prophets, to you, throughout the day, rising at first light and sending them.
26 πλην δεν μου υπηκουσαν ουδε εκλιναν το ωτιον αυτων, αλλ' εσκληρυναν τον τραχηλον αυτων, επραξαν χειροτερα των πατερων αυτων.	26 But they have not listened to me, nor have they inclined their ear. Instead, they have stiffened their neck, and they have behaved worse than their fathers did.
27 Δια τουτο θελεις λαλησει προς αυτους παντας τουτους τους λογους και δεν θελουσι σε ακουσει? και θελεις φωναξει προς αυτους και δεν θελουσι σοι αποκριθη.	27 And so, you will speak to them all these words, but they will not listen to you. And you will call to them, but they will not respond to you.
28 Θελεις ομως ειπει προς αυτους, Τουτο ειναι το εθνος, το οποιον δεν ακουει την φωνην Κυριου του Θεου αυτου ουδε δεχεται παιδειαν? η αληθεια εξελιπε και εχαθη απο του στοματος αυτων.	28 And you will say to them: This is the nation that has not listened to the voice of the Lord their God, nor accepted discipline. Faith has perished and been taken away from their mouth.
29 Κουρευσον την κεφαλην σου, Ιερουσαλημ, και απορριψον τας τριχας, και αναλαβε θρηνον επι τους υψηλους τοπους? διοτι ο Κυριος απερριψε και εγκατελιπε την γενεαν, κατα της οποιας ωργισθη.	29 Cut off your hair, and cast it away. And take up a lamentation on high. For the Lord has cast aside and abandoned this generation of his fury.
30 Διοτι οι υιοι Ιουδα επραξαν πονηρα ενωπιον μου, λεγει Κυριος? εθεσαν τα βδελυγματα αυτων εν τω οικω εφ' ον εκληθη το ονομα μου, δια να μιανωσιν αυτον.	30 For the sons of Judah have done evil in my eyes, says the Lord. They have stationed their abominations in the house where my name is invoked, so that they may defile it.
31 Και ωκοδομησαν τους υψηλους τοπους του Τοφεθ, οστις ειναι εν τη φαραγγι του υιου Εννομ, δια να καιωσι τους υιους αυτων και τας θυγατερας αυτων εν πυρι? το οποιον δεν προσεταξα ουδε ανεβη επι την καρδιαν μου.	31 And they have built the exalted places of Topheth, which is in the Valley of the son of Hinnom, so that they may burn their sons and their daughters with fire, something I neither instructed, nor thought in my heart.
32 Δια τουτο, ιδου, ερχονται ημεραι, λεγει Κυριος, καθ' ας δεν θελει ονομαζεσθαι πλεον Τοφεθ ουδε Φαραγξ του υιου Εννομ, αλλ' η φαραγξ της σφαγης? διοτι θελουσι θαπτει εν Τοφεθ, εωσου να μη υπαρχη τοπος.	32 For this reason, behold, the days will arrive, says the Lord, when it will no longer be called Topheth, nor the Valley of the son of Hinnom, but instead the Valley of Slaughter. Yet they will bury in Topheth, because there will be no other place.
33 Και τα πτωματα του λαου τουτου θελουσιν εισθαι τροφη εις τα πετεινα του ουρανου και εις τα θηρια της γης? και δεν θελει εισθαι ο εκφοβιζων.	33 And the corpses of this people will be food for the birds of the air and for the wild beasts of the land, and there will be no one to drive them away.
34 Και θελω παυσει απο των πολεων του Ιουδα και απο των οδων της Ιερουσαλημ την φωνην της χαρας και την φωνην της ευφροσυνης, την φωνην του νυμφιου και την φωνην της νυμφης? διοτι η γη θελει κατασταθη ερημος.	34 And from the cities of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem, I will cause the cessation of the voice of gladness and the voice of rejoicing, the voice of the groom and the voice of the bride. For the land will be in utter desolation.”
