1 Ουτοι δε ειναι οι λογοι του Δαβιδ, οι τελευταιοι? ο Δαβιδ, ο υιος του Ιεσσαι, ειπε, και ο ανηρ οστις ανεβιβασθη εις υψος, ο κεχρισμενος του Θεου του Ιακωβ και ο γλυκυς ψαλμωδος του Ισραηλ ειπε,	1 These are the last words of David. Now David, the son of Jesse, the man to whom it was appointed concerning the Christ of the God of Jacob, the preeminent psalmist of Israel said:
2 Πνευμα Κυριου ελαλησε δι' εμου, και ο λογος αυτου ηλθεν επι της γλωσσης μου.	2 “The Spirit of the Lord has spoken through me, and his word was spoken through my tongue.
3 Ο Θεος του Ισραηλ ειπε προς εμε, ο Βραχος του Ισραηλ ελαλησεν, Ο εξουσιαζων επι ανθρωπους ας ηναι δικαιος, εξουσιαζων μετα φοβου Θεου?	3 The God of Israel spoke to me, the Strong One of Israel spoke, the Ruler of men, the Just Ruler, in the fear of God,
4 Και θελει εισθαι ως το φως της πρωιας, οταν ανατελλη ο ηλιος πρωιας ανεφελου, ως η εκ της γης χλοη απο της λαμψεως της εκ της βροχης.	4 like the first light of the morning as the sun is rising, when a morning without clouds glows red, and like plants springing forth from the earth after a rainfall.
5 Αν και ο οικος μου δεν ειναι τοιουτος ενωπιον του Θεου, διαθηκην ομως αιωνιον εκαμε μετ' εμου, διατεταγμενην κατα παντα και ασφαλη? οθεν τουτο ειναι πασα η σωτηρια μου και πασα η επιθυμια? αν και δεν εκαμε να βλαστηση.	5 But my house is not so great with God that he should undertake an eternal covenant with me, firm and fortified in all things. For he is the entirety of my salvation and the entirety of my will. And there is nothing of this which will not spring forth.
6 Οι δε παρανομοι, παντες ουτοι θελουσιν εισθαι ως ακανθαι εξωσμεναι, διοτι με χειρας δεν πιανονται?	6 But all prevaricators shall be plucked out like thorns, yet they are not taken away by hands.
7 Και οστις εγγιση αυτας, πρεπει να ηναι ωπλισμενος με σιδηρον και με ξυλον λογχης? και θελουσι κατακαυθη εν πυρι εν τω αυτω τοπω.	7 And if anyone wishes to touch them, he must be armed with iron and a wooden lance. And they shall be set ablaze and burned to nothing.”
8 Ταυτα ειναι τα ονοματα των ισχυρων, τους οποιους ειχεν ο Δαβιδ? Ιοσεβ-βασεβεθ ο Ταχμονιτης, πρωτος των τριων? ουτος ητο Αδινω ο Ασωναιος, οστις εθανατωσεν οκτακοσιους εν μια μαχη.	8 These are the names of the valiant of David. Sitting in the chair was the wisest leader among the three; he was like a very tender little worm in a tree, who killed eight hundred men in one attack.
9 Και μετ' αυτον, Ελεαζαρ ο υιος του Δωδω, υιου του Αχωχι, εις εκ των τριων ισχυρων μετα του Δαβιδ, οτε ωνειδισαν τους Φιλισταιους τους εκει συνηθροισμενους εις μαχην, και οι ανδρες Ισραηλ εσυρθησαν?	9 After him, there was Eleazar, the son of his paternal uncle, an Ahohite, who was among the three valiant men who were with David when they chastised the Philistines, and they were gathered together in battle there.
10 ουτος σηκωθεις, επαταξε τους Φιλισταιους, εωσου απεκαμεν η χειρ αυτου και εκολληθη η χειρ αυτου εις την μαχαιραν? και εκαμεν ο Κυριος σωτηριαν μεγαλην εν τη ημερα εκεινη, και ο λαος επεστρεψεν οπισω αυτου μονον δια να λαφυραγωγηση.	10 And when the men of Israel had gone up, he himself stood fast and struck down the Philistines, until his hand grew weak and stiff with the sword. And the Lord wrought a great salvation on that day. And the people who had fled returned to take up the spoils of the slain.
11 μετα δε τουτον Σαμμα, ο υιος του Αγαι, ο Αραριτης? και οι μεν Φιλισταιοι ειχον συναχθη εις σωμα, οπου ητο μεριδιον αγρου πληρες φακης, ο δε λαος εφυγεν απο προσωπου των Φιλισταιων?	11 And after him, there was Shammah, the son of Agee, from Hara. And the Philistines gathered together at an outpost. For a field full of lentils was in that place. And when the people had fled from the face of the Philistines,
12 ουτος δε εστηλωθη εν τω μεσω του αγρου και υπερησπισθη αυτον, και επαταξε τους Φιλισταιους? και ο Κυριος εκαμε σωτηριαν μεγαλην.	12 he stood fast in the middle of the field, and it was protected by him. And he struck down the Philistines. And the Lord wrought a great salvation.
13 Κατεβησαν ετι τρεις εκ των τριακοντα αρχηγων και ηλθον προς τον Δαβιδ εν καιρω θερους εις το σπηλαιον Οδολλαμ? το δε στρατοπεδον των Φιλισταιων εστρατοπεδευσεν εν τη κοιλαδι Ραφαειμ.	13 And moreover, before this, the three who were leaders among the thirty descended and went to David at harvest time, in the cave of Adullam. But the camp of the Philistines was positioned in the Valley of the giants.
14 Και ο Δαβιδ ητο τοτε εν οχυρωματι, και η φρουρα των Φιλισταιων τοτε εν Βηθλεεμ.	14 And David was in a stronghold. Moreover, there was a garrison of the Philistines at that time in Bethlehem.
15 Και επεποθησεν ο Δαβιδ υδωρ και ειπε, Τις ηθελε μοι δωσει να πιω υδωρ εκ του φρεατος της Βηθλεεμ, του πλησιον της πυλης;	15 Then David desired, and he said, “If only someone would give me a drink of the water from the cistern, which is in Bethlehem beside the gate!”
16 Και διεσχισαν οι τρεις ισχυροι το στρατοπεδον των Φιλισταιων και ηντλησαν υδωρ εκ του φρεατος της Βηθλεεμ, του εν τη πυλη, και λαβοντες εφεραν προς τον Δαβιδ? δεν ηθελησεν ομως να πιη, αλλ' εκαμεν αυτο σπονδην εις τον Κυριον?	16 Therefore, the three valiant men burst into the encampment of the Philistines, and they drew water from the cistern of Bethlehem, which was beside the gate. And they brought it to David. Yet he was not willing to drink; instead, he poured it out to the Lord,
17 και ειπε, Μη γενοιτο εις εμε, Κυριε, να πραξω τουτο? το αιμα των ανδρων, των πορευθεντων μετα κινδυνου της ζωης αυτων, να πιω εγω; Και δεν ηθελησε να πιη. Ταυτα εκαμον οι τρεις ισχυροι.	17 saying: “May the Lord be gracious to me, so that I may not do this. Should I drink the blood of these men who have set out to the peril of their own lives?” Therefore, he was not willing to drink. These things were accomplished by these three robust men.
18 Και Αβισαι, ο αδελφος του Ιωαβ, υιος της Σερουιας, ητο πρωτος των τριων? και ουτος σειων την λογχην αυτου εναντιον τριακοσιων, εθανατωσεν αυτους και απεκτησεν ονομα μεταξυ των τριων.	18 Also Abishai, the brother of Joab, the son of Zeruiah, was first among the three. It was he who lifted up his spear against three hundred men, whom he killed. And he was renowned among the three,
19 Δεν εσταθη ουτος ο ενδοξοτερος εκ των τριων; δια τουτο εγεινεν αρχηγος αυτων? δεν εφθασεν ομως μεχρι των τριων πρωτων.	19 and he was the noblest of the three, and he was their leader. But at first he did not attain to the three.
20 Και Βεναιας, ο υιος του Ιωδαε, υιος ανδρος δυνατου απο Καβσεηλ, οστις εκαμε πολλα ανδραγαθηματα, ουτος επαταξε τους δυο λεοντωδεις ανδρας του Μωαβ? ουτος ετι κατεβη και επαταξε λεοντα εν μεσω του λακκου εν ημερα χιονος.	20 And Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada, a very strong man of great deeds, was from Kabzeel. He slew the two lions of Moab, and he descended and slew a lion in the middle of a den, in the days of snow.
21 Ουτος ετι επαταξε τον ανδρα τον Αιγυπτιον, ανδρα ωραιον? και εν τη χειρι του Αιγυπτιου ητο λογχη? εκεινος δε κατεβη προς αυτον με ραβδον, και αρπασας την λογχην εκ της χειρος του Αιγυπτιου, εθανατωσεν αυτον δια της ιδιας αυτου λογχης.	21 He also killed an Egyptian who had a spear in his hand, a man worthy to behold. And yet he had gone down to him with only a staff. And he forced the spear from the hand of the Egyptian, and he killed him with his own spear.
22 Ταυτα εκαμε Βεναιας, ο υιος του Ιωδαε, και απεκτησεν ονομα μεταξυ των τριων ισχυρων.	22 Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada, accomplished these things.
23 Ητο ενδοξοτερος των τριακοντα? δεν εφθασεν ομως μεχρι των τριων πρωτων? και κατεστησεν αυτον ο Δαβιδ επι των δορυφορων αυτου.	23 And he was renowned among the three robust men, who were the most noble among the thirty. Yet truly, he did not attain to the three, until David made him his secret advisor.
24 Ασαηλ, ο αδελφος του Ιωαβ, ητο μεταξυ των τριακοντα? οιτινες ησαν Ελχαναν, ο υιος του Δωδω, εκ της Βηθλεεμ?	24 Among the thirty were: Asahel, the brother of Joab, Elhanan, the son of his paternal uncle, from Bethlehem,
25 Σαμμα ο Αρωδιτης? Ελικα ο Αρωδιτης?	25 Shammah from Harod, Elika from Harod,
26 Χελης ο Φαλτιτης? Ιρας, ο υιος του Ικκης, ο Θεκωιτης?	26 Helez from Palti, Ira, the son of Ikkesh, from Tekoa,
27 Αβιεζερ ο Αναθωθιτης? Μεβουναι ο Χουσαθιτης?	27 Abiezer from Anathoth, Mebunnai from Hushah,
28 Σαλμων ο Αχωχιτης? Μααραι ο Νετωφαθιτης?	28 Zalmon the Ahohite, Maharai the Netophathite,
29 Χελεβ, ο υιος του Βαανα, ο Νετωφαθιτης? Ιτται, ο υιος του Ριβαι, απο Γαβαα, των υιων Βενιαμιν?	29 Heleb, the son of Baanah, also himself a Netophathite, Ittai, the son of Ribai, from Gibeah, of the sons of Benjamin,
30 Βεναιας ο Πιραθωνιτης? Ιδδαι, εκ των κοιλαδων Γαας?	30 Benaiah the Pirathonite, Hiddai from the Torrent Gaash,
31 Αβι-αλβων ο Αρβαθιτης? Αζμαβεθ ο Βαρουμιτης?	31 Abialbon the Arbathite, Azmaveth from Beromi,
32 Ελιαβα ο Σααλβωνιτης? Ιωναθαν, εκ των υιων Ιαασην?	32 Eliahba from Shaalbon; the sons of Jashen, Jonathan,
33 Σαμμα ο Αραριτης? Αχιαμ, ο υιος του Σαραρ, ο Αραριτης?	33 Shammah from Orori, Ahiam, the son of Sharar, the Hararite,
34 Ελιφελετ, ο υιος του Αασβαι, υιος του Μααχαθιτου? Ελιαμ, ο υιος του Αχιτοφελ του Γιλωναιου.	34 Eliphelet, the son of Ahasbai, the son of Maacath, Eliam, the son of Ahithophel, the Gilonite,
35 Εσραι ο Καρμηλιτης? Φααραι ο Αρβιτης?	35 Hezrai from Carmel, Paarai from Arbi,
36 Ιγαλ, ο υιος του Ναθαν, απο Σωβα? ανι ο Γαδιτης?	36 Igal, the son of Nathan, from Zobah, Bani from Gad,
37 Σελεκ ο Αμμωνιτης? Νααραι ο Βηρωθαιος, ο οπλοφορος του Ιωαβ, υιου της Σερουιας?	37 Zelek from Ammon, Naharai the Beerothite, the armor bearer of Joab, the son of Zeruiah,
38 Ιρας ο Ιεθριτης? Γαρηβ ο Ιεθριτης?	38 Ira the Ithrite, Gareb also an Ithrite,
39 Ουριας ο Χετταιος? παντες τριακοντα επτα.	39 Uriah the Hittite: altogether thirty seven
