Jeremiah 41

1 And it came to pass in the seventh month, that Ismahel the son of Nathanias, the son of Elisama of the royal blood, and the nobles of the king, and ten men with him, came to Godolias the son of Ahicam into Masphath: and they ate bread there together in Masphath.	1 Pues bien, el mes séptimo, Ismael, hijo de Netanías, hijo de Elisamá, de linaje real, se dirigió en compañía de algunos grandes del rey y diez hombres a Godolías, hijo de Ajicam, a Mispá, y allí en Mispá comieron juntos.
2 And Ismahel the son of Nathanias arose, and the ten men that were with him, and they struck Godolias the son of Ahicam, the son of Saphan with the sword, and slew him whom the king of Babylon had made governor over the land.	2 Se levantó Ismael, hijo de Netanías, y los diez que estaban con él, y acuchillaron a Godolías, hijo de Ajicam, hijo de Safán, y dieron muerte a aquel a quien el rey de Babilonia había encargado del país.
3 Ismahel slew also all the Jews that were with Godolias in Masphath, and the Chaldeans that were found there, and the soldiers.	3 También mató Ismael a todos los judíos que estaban con él, con Godolías, en Mispá y a los guerreros caldeos que se hallaban allí.
4 And on the second day after he had killed Godolias, no man yet knowing it,	4 Era al día siguiente del asesinato de Godolías, y nadie lo sabía.
5 There came some from Sichem, and from Silo, and from Samaria, fourscore men, with their beards shaven, and their clothes rent, and mourning: and they had offerings and incense in their hand, to offer in the house of the Lord.	5 Unos hombres venían de Siquem de Silo y de Samaría, ochenta entre todos, la barba raída, harapientos y arañados, portadores de oblaciones e incienso que traían a la Casa de Yahveh.
6 And Ismahel the son of Nathanias went forth from Masphath to meet them, weeping all along as he went: and when he had met them, he said to them: Come to Godolias, the son of Ahicam.	6 Salió Ismael, hijo de Netanías, a su encuentro desde Mispá. Iba llorando mientras caminaba, y llegando junto a ellos, les dijo: «Venid adonde Godolías, hijo de Ajicam».
7 And when they were come to the midst of the city, Ismahel the son of Nathanias, slew them, and cast them into the midst of the pit, he and the men that were with him.	7 Y así que hubieron entrado dentro de la ciudad, Ismael, hijo de Netanías, los degolló con la ayuda de sus hombres, y los echó dentro de una cisterna.
8 But ten men were found among them, that said to Ismahel : Kill us not: for we have stores in the field, of wheat, and barley, and oil, and honey. And he forbore, and slew them not with their brethren.	8 Entre aquellos hombres hubo diez que dijeron a Ismael: «No nos mates, que en el campo tenemos escondites de trigo, cebada, aceite y miel». Y no les mató como a sus hermanos.
9 And the pit into which Ismahel cast all the dead bodies of the men whom he slew because of Godolias, is the same that king Asa made, for fear of Baasa the king of Israel: the same did Ismahel the son of Nathanias fill with them that were slain.	9 La cisterna adonde echó Ismael todos los cadáveres de los hombres que mató, era la cisterna grande. Es la que hizo el rey Asá para prevenirse contra Basá, rey de Israel; Ismael, hijo de Netanías, la llenó de asesinados.
10 Then Ismahel carried away captive all the remnant of the people that were in Masphath : the king's daughters, and all the people that remained in Masphath: whom Nabuzardan the general of the army had committed to Godolias the son of Ahicam. And Ismahel the son of Nathanias took them, and he departed, to go over to the children of Ammon.	10 Luego Ismael hizo prisioneros a todo el resto del pueblo que quedaba en Mispá, a las hijas del rey y a todo el pueblo que quedaba en Mispá, que Nebuzaradán, jefe de la guardia, había encomendado a Godolías, hijo de Ajicam; y de madrugada se fue Ismael, hijo de Netanías, a pasarse a los ammonitas.
11 But Johanan the son of Caree, and all the captains of the fighting men that were with him, heard of the evil that Ismahel the son of Nathanias had done.	11 Oyó Yojanán, hijo de Caréaj, y todos los jefes de las fuerzas que le acompañaban, todos los crímenes que había hecho Ismael, hijo de Netanías.
12 And taking all the men, they went out to fight against Ismahel the son of Nathanias, and they found him by the great waters that are in Gabaon.	12 Tomando a todos sus hombres fueron a luchar con Ismael, hijo de Netanías, al que encontraron junto a la gran alberca, que está en Gabaón.
13 And when all the people that were with Ismahel, had seen Johanan the son of Caree, and all the captains of the fighting men that were with him, they rejoiced.	13 Apenas toda la gente que esta con Ismael vio a Yojanán, hijo de Caréaj, y a todos los jefes de las fuerzas que le acompañaban, se llenaron de gozo,
14 And all the people whom Ismahel had taken, went back to Masphath: and they returned and went to Johanan the son of Caree.	14 y dando media vuelta toda aquella gente que Ismael llevaba prisionera de Mispá, regresaron al lado de Yojanán, hijo de Caréaj,
15 But Ismahel the son of Nathanias fled with eight men, from the face of Johanan, and went to the children of Ammon.	15 en tanto que Ismael, hijo de Netanías, se escapaba de Yojanán con ocho hombres, rumbo a los ammonitas.
16 Then Johanan the son of Caree, and all the captains of the soldiers that were with him, took all the remnant of the people whom they had recovered from Ismahel the son of Nathanias, from Masphath, after that he had slain Godolias the son of Ahicam: valiant men for war, and the women, and the children, and the eunuchs, whom he had brought back from Gabaon:	16 Yojanán, hijo de Caréaj, y todos los jefes de las fuerzas que le acompañaban recogieron de Mispá a todo el resto de la gente que Ismael, hijo de Netanías, había hecho prisionera después que hubo matado a Godolías, hijo de Ajicam - hombres, gente de guerra, mujeres, niños y eunucos -, a los cuales hizo volver de Gabaón.
17 And they departed, and sat as sojourners in Chamaam, which is near Bethlehem: in order to go forward, and enter into Egypt,	17 Ellos se fueron y se instalaron en el Refugio de Kimham, que está al lado de Belén, para seguir luego hasta Egipto
18 From the face of the Chaldeans: for they were afraid of them, because Ismahel the son of Nathanias had slain Godolias the son of Ahicam, whom the king of Babylon had made governor in the land of Juda.	18 huyendo de los caldeos, pues les temían por haber matado Ismael, hijo de Netanías, a Godolías, hijo de Ajicam, a quien el rey de Babilonia había encargado del país.
