Isaiah 51

1 Give ear to me, you that follow that which is just, and you that seek the Lord: look unto the rock whence you are hewn, and to the hole of the pit from which you are dug out.	1 Prestadme oído, seguidores de lo justo, los que buscáis a Yahveh. Reparad en la peña de donde fuisteis tallados, y en la cavidad de pozo de donde fuisteis excavados.
2 Look unto Abraham your father, and to Sara that bore you: for I called him alone, and blessed him, and multiplied him.	2 Reparad en Abraham vuestro padre, y en Sara, que os dio a luz; pues uno solo era cuando le llamé, pero le bendije y le multipliqué.
3 The Lord therefore will comfort Sion, and will comfort all the ruins thereof: and he will make her desert as a place of pleasure, and her wilderness as the garden of the Lord. Joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of praise.	3 Cuando haya consolado Yahveh a Sión, haya consolado todas sus ruinas y haya trocado el desierto en Edén y la estepa en Paraíso de Yahveh, recocijo y alegría se encontrarán en ella, alabanza y son de canciones.
4 Hearken unto me, O my people, and give ear to me, O my tribes: for a law shall go forth from me, and my judgment shall rest to be a light of the nations.	4 Préstame atención, pueblo mío, mi nación, escúchame; que una instrucción saldrá de mí, y juicio mío para luz de las naciones. Inminente,
5 My just one is near at hand, my saviour is gone forth, and my arms shall judge the people: the islands shall look for me, and shall patiently wait for my arm.	5 cercana está mi justicia, saldrá mi liberación, y mis brazos juzgarán a los pueblos. Las islas esperan en mí y cuentan con mi brazo.
6 Lift up your eyes to heaven, and look down to the earth beneath: for the heavens shall vanish like smoke, and the earth shall be worn away like a garment, and the inhabitants thereof shall perish in like manner: but my salvation shall be for ever, and my justice shall not fail.	6 Alzad a los cielos vuestros ojos y contemplad la tierra abajo, pues los cielos como humareda se disiparán, la tierra como un vestido se gastará y sus moradores como el mosquito morirán. Pero mi salvación por siempre será, y mi justicia se mantendrá intacta.
7 Hearken to me, you that know what is just, my people who have my law in your heart: fear ye not the reproach of men, and be not afraid of their blasphemies.	7 Prestadme oído, sabedores de lo justo, pueblo consciente de mi ley. No temáis las injurias de los hombres, y de sus ultrajes no os asustéis;
8 For the worm shall eat them up as a garment: and the moth shall consume them as wool: but my salvation shall be for ever, and my justice from generation to generation,	8 pues como un vestido se los comerá la polilla, y como lana los comerá la tiña. Pero mi justicia por siempre será, y mi salvación por generaciones de generaciones.
9 Arise, arise, put on strength, O thou arm of the Lord, arise as in the days of old, in the ancient generations. Hast not thou struck the proud one, and wounded the dragon?	9 ¡Despierta, despierta, revístete de poderío, oh brazo de Yahveh! ¡Despierta como en los días de antaño, en las generaciones pasadas! ¿No eres tú el que partió a Ráhab, el que atravesó al Dragón?
10 Hast not thou dried up the sea, the water of the mighty deep, who madest the depth of the sea a way, that the delivered might pass over?	10 ¿No eres tú el que secó la Mar, las aguas del gran Océano, el que trocó las honduras del mar en camino para que pasasen los rescatados?
11 And now they that are redeemed by the Lord, shall return, and shall come into Sion singing praises, and joy everlasting shall be upon their heads, they shall obtain joy and gladness, sorrow and mourning shall flee away.	11 Los redimidos de Yahveh volverán, entrarán en Sión entre aclamaciones, y habrá alegría eterna sobre sus cabezas. ¡Regocijo y alegría les acompañarán! ¡Adios, el penar y suspiros!
12 I, I myself will comfort you: who art thou, that thou shouldst be afraid of a mortal man, and of the son of man, who shall wither away like grass?	12 Yo, yo soy tu consolador. ¿Quién eres tú, que tienes miedo del mortal y del hijo del hombre, al heno equiparado?
13 And thou hast forgotten the Lord thy maker, who stretched out the heavens, and founded the earth: and thee hast been afraid continually all the day at the presence of his fury who afflicted thee, and had prepared himself to destroy thee: where is now the fury of the oppressor?	13 Olvidas a Yahveh, tu hacedor, el que extendió los cielos y cimentó la tierra; y te estás depavorido todo a lo largo del día ante la furia del opresor, en cuanto se aplica a destruir. Pues ¿dónde está esa furia del opresor?
14 He shall quickly come that is going to open unto you, and he shall not kill unto utter destruction, neither shall his bread fail.	14 Pronto saldrá libre el que está en la cárcel, no morirá en la hoya, no le faltará el pan.
15 But I am the Lord thy God, who trouble the sea, and the waves thereof swell: the Lord of hosts is my name.	15 Yo soy Yahveh tu Dios, que agito el mar y hago bramar sus olas; Yahveh Sebaot es mi nombre.
16 I have put my words in thy mouth, and have protected thee in the shadow of my hand, that thou mightest plant the heavens, and found the earth: and mightest say to Sion: Thou art my people.	16 Yo he puesto mis palabras en tu boca y te he escondido a la sombra de mi mano, cuando extendía los cielos y cimentaba la tierra, diciendo a Sión: «Mi pueblo eres tú».
17 Arise, arise, stand up, O Jerusalem, which hast drunk at the hand of the Lord the cup of his wrath; thou hast drunk even to the bottom of the cup of dead sleep, and thou hast drunk even to the dregs.	17 ¡Despierta, despierta! ¡Levántate, Jerusalén! Tú, que has bebido de mano de Yahveh la copa de su ira. El cáliz del vértigo has bebido hasta vaciarlo.
18 There is none that can uphold her among all the children that she hath brought forth: and there is none that taketh her by the hand among all the children that she hath brought up.	18 No hay quien la guíe de entre todos los hijos que ha dado a luz, no hay quien la tome de la mano de entre todos los hijos que ha criado.
19 There are two things that have happened to thee: who shall be sorry for thee? desolation, and destruction, and the famine, and the sword, who shall comfort thee?	19 Estas dos cosas te han acaecido - ¿quién te conduele? - saqueo y quebranto, hambre y espada - ¿quién te consuela? -
20 Thy children are cast forth, they have slept at the head of all the ways, as the wild ox that is snared: full of the indignation of the Lord, of the rebuke of thy God.	20 Tus hijos desfallecen, yacen, en la esquina de todas las calles como antílope en la red, llenos de la ira de Yahveh, de la amenaza de tu Dios.
21 Therefore hear this, thou poor little one, and thou that art drunk but no with wine.	21 Por eso, escucha esto, pobrecilla, ebria, pero no de vino.
22 Thus saith thy Sovereign the Lord and thy God, who will fight for his people: Behold I have taken out of thy hand the cup of dead sleep, the dregs of the cup of my indignation, thou shalt not drink it again any more.	22 Así dice tu Señor Yahveh, tu Dios, defensor de tu pueblo. Mira que yo te quito de la mano la copa del vértigo, el cáliz de mi ira; ya no tendrás que seguir bebiéndolo.
23 And I will put it in the hand of them that have oppressed thee, and have said to thy soul: Bow down, that we may go over: and thou hast laid thy body as the ground, and as a way to them that went over.	23 Yo lo pondré en la mano de los que te afligían, de los que a ti misma te decían: «Póstrate para que pasemos», y tú pusiste tu espalda como suelo y como calle de los que pasaban.
