DOUAI-RHEIMSLXX
Let the islands keep silence before me, and the nations take new strength: let them come near, and then speak, let us come near to judgment together.1 εγκαινιζεσθε προς με νησοι οι γαρ αρχοντες αλλαξουσιν ισχυν εγγισατωσαν και λαλησατωσαν αμα τοτε κρισιν αναγγειλατωσαν
Who hath raised up the just one from the east, hath called him to follow him? he shall give the nations in his sight, and he shall rule over kings: he shall give them as the dust to his sword, as stubble driven by the wind, to his bow.2 τις εξηγειρεν απο ανατολων δικαιοσυνην εκαλεσεν αυτην κατα ποδας αυτου και πορευσεται δωσει εναντιον εθνων και βασιλεις εκστησει και δωσει εις γην τας μαχαιρας αυτων και ως φρυγανα εξωσμενα τα τοξα αυτων
He shall pursue them, he shall pass in peace, no path shall appear after his feet.3 και διωξεται αυτους και διελευσεται εν ειρηνη η οδος των ποδων αυτου
Who hath wrought and done these things, calling the generations from the beginning? I the Lord, I am the first and the last.4 τις ενηργησεν και εποιησεν ταυτα εκαλεσεν αυτην ο καλων αυτην απο γενεων αρχης εγω θεος πρωτος και εις τα επερχομενα εγω ειμι
The islands saw it, and feared, the ends of the earth were astonished, they drew near, and came.5 ειδοσαν εθνη και εφοβηθησαν τα ακρα της γης ηγγισαν και ηλθοσαν αμα
Every one shall help his neighbour, and shall say to his brother: Be of good courage.6 κρινων εκαστος τω πλησιον και τω αδελφω βοηθησαι και ερει
The coppersmith striking with the hammer encouraged him that forged at that time, saying: It is ready for soldering: and he strengthened it with nails, that it should not be moved.7 ισχυσεν ανηρ τεκτων και χαλκευς τυπτων σφυρη αμα ελαυνων ποτε μεν ερει συμβλημα καλον εστιν ισχυρωσαν αυτα εν ηλοις θησουσιν αυτα και ου κινηθησονται
But thou Israel, art my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend:8 συ δε ισραηλ παις μου ιακωβ ον εξελεξαμην σπερμα αβρααμ ον ηγαπησα
In whom I have taken thee from the ends of the earth, and from the remote parts thereof have called thee, and said to thee: Thou art my servant, I have chosen thee, and have not cast thee away.9 ου αντελαβομην απ' ακρων της γης και εκ των σκοπιων αυτης εκαλεσα σε και ειπα σοι παις μου ει εξελεξαμην σε και ουκ εγκατελιπον σε
Fear not, for I am with thee: turn not aside, for I am thy God: I have strengthened thee, and have helped thee, and the right hand of my just one hath upheld thee.10 μη φοβου μετα σου γαρ ειμι μη πλανω εγω γαρ ειμι ο θεος σου ο ενισχυσας σε και εβοηθησα σοι και ησφαλισαμην σε τη δεξια τη δικαια μου
Behold all that fight against thee shall be confounded and ashamed, they shall be as nothing, and the men shall perish that strive against thee.11 ιδου αισχυνθησονται και εντραπησονται παντες οι αντικειμενοι σοι εσονται γαρ ως ουκ οντες και απολουνται παντες οι αντιδικοι σου
Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find the men that resist thee: they shall be as nothing: and as a thing consumed the men that war against thee.12 ζητησεις αυτους και ου μη ευρης τους ανθρωπους οι παροινησουσιν εις σε εσονται γαρ ως ουκ οντες και ουκ εσονται οι αντιπολεμουντες σε
For I am the Lord thy God, who take thee by the hand, and say to thee: Fear not, I have helped thee.13 οτι εγω ο θεος σου ο κρατων της δεξιας σου ο λεγων σοι μη φοβου
Fear not, thou worm of Jacob, you that are dead of Israel: I have helped thee, saith the Lord: and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel.14 ιακωβ ολιγοστος ισραηλ εγω εβοηθησα σοι λεγει ο θεος ο λυτρουμενος σε ισραηλ
I have made thee as a new thrashing wain, with teeth like a saw: thou shall thrash the mountains, and break them in pieces: and shalt make the hills as chaff.15 ιδου εποιησα σε ως τροχους αμαξης αλοωντας καινους πριστηροειδεις και αλοησεις ορη και λεπτυνεις βουνους και ως χνουν θησεις
Thou shalt fan them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the whirlwind shall scatter them: and thou shalt rejoice in the Lord, in the Holy One of Israel thou shalt be joyful.16 και λικμησεις και ανεμος λημψεται αυτους και καταιγις διασπερει αυτους συ δε ευφρανθηση εν τοις αγιοις ισραηλ και αγαλλιασονται
The needy and the poor seek for waters, and there are none: their tongue hath been dry with thirst. I the Lord will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them.17 οι πτωχοι και οι ενδεεις ζητησουσιν γαρ υδωρ και ουκ εσται η γλωσσα αυτων απο της διψης εξηρανθη εγω κυριος ο θεος εγω επακουσομαι ο θεος ισραηλ και ουκ εγκαταλειψω αυτους
I will open rivers in the high bills, and fountains in the midst of the plains: I will turn the desert into pools of waters, and the impassable land into streams of waters.18 αλλα ανοιξω επι των ορεων ποταμους και εν μεσω πεδιων πηγας ποιησω την ερημον εις ελη και την διψωσαν γην εν υδραγωγοις
I will plant in the wilderness the cedar, and the thorn, and the myrtle, and the olive tree: I will set in the desert the fir tree, the elm, and the box tree together:19 θησω εις την ανυδρον γην κεδρον και πυξον και μυρσινην και κυπαρισσον και λευκην
That they may see and know, and consider, and understand together that the hand of the Lord hath done this, and the Holy One of Israel hath created it.20 ινα ιδωσιν και γνωσιν και εννοηθωσιν και επιστωνται αμα οτι χειρ κυριου εποιησεν ταυτα παντα και ο αγιος του ισραηλ κατεδειξεν
Bring your cause near, saith the Lord: bring hither, if you have any thing to allege, saith the King of Jacob.21 εγγιζει η κρισις υμων λεγει κυριος ο θεος ηγγισαν αι βουλαι υμων λεγει ο βασιλευς ιακωβ
Let them come, and tell us all things that are to come: tell us the former things what they were: and we will set our heart upon them, and shall know the latter end of them, and tell us the things that are to come.22 εγγισατωσαν και αναγγειλατωσαν υμιν α συμβησεται η τα προτερα τινα ην ειπατε και επιστησομεν τον νουν και γνωσομεθα τι τα εσχατα και τα επερχομενα ειπατε ημιν
Shew the things that are to come hereafter, and we shall know that ye are gods. Do ye also good or evil, if you can: and let us speak, and see together.23 αναγγειλατε ημιν τα επερχομενα επ' εσχατου και γνωσομεθα οτι θεοι εστε ευ ποιησατε και κακωσατε και θαυμασομεθα και οψομεθα αμα
Behold, you are of nothing, and your work of that which hath no being: he that hath chosen you is an abomination.24 οτι ποθεν εστε υμεις και ποθεν η εργασια υμων εκ γης βδελυγμα εξελεξαντο υμας
I have raised up one from the north, and he shall come from the rising of the sun: he shall call upon my name, and he shall make princes to be as dirt, and as the potter treading clay.25 εγω δε ηγειρα τον απο βορρα και τον αφ' ηλιου ανατολων κληθησονται τω ονοματι μου ερχεσθωσαν αρχοντες και ως πηλος κεραμεως και ως κεραμευς καταπατων τον πηλον ουτως καταπατηθησεσθε
Who bath declared from the beginning, that we may know: and from time of old, that we may say: Thou art just. There is none that sheweth, nor that foretelleth, nor that heareth your words.26 τις γαρ αναγγελει τα εξ αρχης ινα γνωμεν και τα εμπροσθεν και ερουμεν οτι αληθη εστιν ουκ εστιν ο προλεγων ουδε ο ακουων υμων τους λογους
The first shall say to Sion: Behold they are here, and to Jerusalem I will give an evangelist.27 αρχην σιων δωσω και ιερουσαλημ παρακαλεσω εις οδον
And I saw, and there was no one even among them to consult, or who, when I asked, could answer a word.28 απο γαρ των εθνων ιδου ουδεις και απο των ειδωλων αυτων ουκ ην ο αναγγελλων και εαν ερωτησω αυτους ποθεν εστε ου μη αποκριθωσιν μοι
Behold they are all in the wrong, and their works are vain: their idols are wind and vanity.29 εισιν γαρ οι ποιουντες υμας και ματην οι πλανωντες υμας
