1 Unless the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it. Unless the Lord keep the city, he watcheth in vain that keepeth it.	1 Cântico das peregrinações. Felizes os que temem o Senhor, os que andam em seus caminhos.
2 It is vain for you to rise before light, rise ye after you have sitten, you that eat the bread of sorrow. When he shall give sleep to his beloved,	2 Poderás viver, então, do trabalho de tuas mãos, serás feliz e terás bem-estar.
3 behold the inheritance of the Lord are children: the reward, the fruit of the womb.	3 Tua mulher será em teu lar como uma vinha fecunda. Teus filhos em torno à tua mesa serão como brotos de oliveira.
4 As arrows in the hand of the mighty, so the children of them that have been shaken.	4 Assim será abençoado aquele que teme o Senhor.
5 Blessed is the man that hath filled the desire with them; he shall not be confounded when he shall speak to his enemies in the gate.	5 De Sião te abençoe o Senhor para que em todos os dias de tua vida gozes da prosperidade de Jerusalém,
	6 e para que possas ver os filhos dos teus filhos. Reine a paz em Israel!
