Psalms 118

DOUAI-RHEIMS	JERUSALEM
1 Give praise to Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.	1 Alleluia! Rendez grâce à Yahvé, car il est bon, car éternel est son amour!
2 Let Israel now say that he is good: that his mercy endureth for ever.	2 Qu'elle le dise, la maison d'Israël: éternel est son amour!
3 Let the house of Aaron now say, that his mercy endureth for ever.	3 Qu'elle le dise, la maison d'Aaron: éternel est son amour!
4 Let them that fear the Lord now say, that his mercy endureth for ever.	4 Qu'ils le disent, ceux qui craignent Yahvé: éternel est son amour!
5 In my trouble I called upon the Lord: and the Lord heard me, and enlarged me.	5 De mon angoisse, j'ai crié vers Yahvé, il m'exauça, me mit au large.
6 The Lord is my helper, I will not fear what man can do unto me.	6 Yahvé est pour moi, plus de crainte, que me fait l'homme, à moi?
7 The Lord is my helper: and I will look over my enemies.	7 Yahvé est pour moi, mon aide entre tous, j'ai toisé mes ennemis.
8 It is good to confide in the Lord, rather than to have confidence in man.	8 Mieux vaut s'abriter en Yahvé que se fier en l'homme;
9 It is good to trust in the Lord, rather than to trust in princes.	9 mieux vaut s'abriter en Yahvé que se fier aux puissants.
10 All nations compassed me about; and in the name of the Lord I have been revenged on them.	10 Les païens m'ont tous entouré, au nom de Yahvé je les sabre;
11 Surrounding me they compassed me about: and in the name of the Lord I have been revenged on them.	11 ils m'ont entouré, enserré, au nom de Yahvé je les sabre;
12 They surrounded me like bees, and they burned like fire among thorns: and in the name of the Lord I was revenged on them	12 ils m'ont entouré comme des guêpes, ils ont flambé comme feu de ronces, au nom de Yahvé jeles sabre.
13 Being pushed I was overturned that I might fall: but the Lord supported me.	13 On m'a poussé, poussé pour m'abattre, mais Yahvé me vient en aide;
14 The Lord is my strength and my praise: and he is become my salvation.	14 ma force et mon chant, c'est Yahvé, il fut pour moi le salut.
15 The voice of rejoicing and of salvation is in the tabernacles of the just.	15 Clameurs de joie et de salut sous les tentes des justes: "La droite de Yahvé a fait prouesse,
16 The right hand of the Lord hath wrought strength: the right hand of the Lord hath exulted me: the right hand of the Lord hath wrought strength.	16 la droite de Yahvé a le dessus, la droite de Yahvé a fait prouesse! "
17 I shall not die, but live: and shall declare the works of the Lord.	17 Non, je ne mourrai pas, je vivrai et publierai les oeuvres de Yahvé;
18 The Lord chastising hath chastised me: but he hath not delivered me over to death.	18 il m'a châtié et châtié, Yahvé, à la mort il ne m'a pas livré.
19 Open ye to me the gates of justice: I will go into them, and give praise to the Lord.	19 Ouvrez-moi les portes de justice, j'entrerai, je rendrai grâce à Yahvé!
20 This is the gate of the Lord, the just shall enter into it.	20 C'est ici la porte de Yahvé, les justes entreront.
21 I will give glory to thee because thou hast heard me: and art become my salvation.	21 Je te rends grâce, car tu m'as exaucé, tu fus pour moi le salut.
22 The stone which the builders rejected; the same is become the head of the corner.	22 La pierre qu'ont rejetée les bâtisseurs est devenue la tête de l'angle;
23 This is the Lord's doing: and it is wonderful in our eyes.	23 c'est là l'oeuvre de Yahvé, ce fut merveille à nos yeux.
24 This is the day which the Lord hath made: let us be glad and rejoice therein.	24 Voici le jour que fit Yahvé, pour nous allégresse et joie.
25 O Lord, save me: O Lord, give good success.	25 De grâce, Yahvé, donne le salut! De grâce, Yahvé, donne la victoire!
26 Blessed be he that cometh in the name Lord. We have blessed you out of the house of the Lord.	26 Béni soit au nom de Yahvé celui qui vient! Nous vous bénissons de la maison de Yahvé.
27 The Lord is God, and he hath shone upon us. Appoint a solemn day, with shady boughs, even to the horn of the alter.	27 Yahvé est Dieu, il nous illumine. Serrez vos cortèges, rameaux en main, jusqu'aux cornes del'autel.
28 Thou art my God, and I will praise thee: thou art my God, and I will exalt thee. I will praise thee, because thou hast heard me, and art become my salvation.	28 C'est toi mon Dieu, je te rends grâce, mon Dieu, je t'exalte; je te rends grâce, car tu m'as exaucé,tu fus pour moi le salut.
29 O praise ye the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.	29 Rendez grâce à Yahvé, car il est bon, car éternel est son amour!
