1 These are the judgments which thou shalt set before them.	1 "Estas são as leis que exporás {aos israelitas}:
2 If thou buy a Hebrew servant, six years shall he serve thee: in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing.	2 quando comprares um escravo hebreu, ele servirá seis anos; no sétimo sairá livre, sem pagar nada.
3 With what raiment he came in, with the like let him go out: if having a wife, his wife also shall go out with him.	3 Se entrou sozinho, sozinho sairá; se tiver mulher, sua mulher partirá com ele.
4 But if his master gave him a wife, and she hath borne sons and daughters: the woman and her children shall be her master's: but he himself shall go out with his raiment.	4 Mas, se foi o seu senhor que lhe deu uma mulher, e esta deu à luz filhos e filhas, a mulher e seus filhos serão propriedade do senhor, e ele partirá sozinho.
5 And if the servant shall say: I love my master and my wife and children, I will not go out free:	5 Porém, se o escravo disser: ?Eu amo meu senhor, minha mulher e meus filhos; não quero ser alforriado?,
6 His master shall bring him to the gods, and he shall be set to the door and the posts, and he shall bore his ear through with an awl: and he shall be his servant for ever.	6 seu senhor o levará então diante de Deus e o fará aproximar-se do batente ou da ombreira da porta, e furar-lhe-á a orelha com uma sovela; desta sorte o escravo estará para sempre a seu serviço.
7 If any man sell his daughter to be a servant, she shall not go out as bondwomen are wont to go out.	7 Se um homem tiver vendido sua filha para ser escrava, ela não sairá em liberdade nas mesmas condições que o escravo.
8 If she displease the eyes of her master to whom she was delivered, he shall let her go: but he shall have no power to sell her to a foreign nation, if he despise her.	8 Se desagradar ao seu senhor, que a havia destinado para si, ele a fará resgatar; mas não poderá vendê-la a estrangeiros depois de lhe ter sido infiel.
9 But if he have betrothed her to his son, he shall deal with her after the manner of daughters.	9 Se a destinar ao seu filho, tratá-la-á segundo o direito das filhas.
10 And if he take another wife for him, he shall provide her a marriage, and raiment, neither shall he refuse the price of her chastity.	10 Se tomar outra mulher, não diminuirá nada à primeira, quanto à alimentação, aos vestidos e ao direito conjugal.
11 If he do not these three things, she shall go out free without money.	11 Se lhe recusar uma destas três coisas, ela poderá partir livre, gratuitamente, sem pagar nada."
12 He that striketh a man with a will to kill him, shall be put to death.	12 "Aquele que ferir mortalmente um homem, será morto.
13 But he that did not lie in wait for him, but God delivered him into his hands: I will appoint thee a place to which he must flee.	13 Porém, se nada premeditou, e Deus o fez cair em suas mãos, eu lhe fixarei um lugar onde possa refugiar-se.
14 If a man kill his neighbour on set purpose and by lying in wait for him: thou shalt take him away from my altar, that he may die.	14 Mas, se alguém, por maldade, armar ciladas para matar o seu próximo, tirá-lo-ás até mesmo do meu altar, para matá-lo.
15 He that striketh his father or mother, shall be put to death.	15 Aquele que ferir seu pai ou sua mãe, será morto.
16 He that shall steal a man, and sell him, being convicted of guilt, shall be put to death.	16 Aquele que furtar um homem, e o tiver vendido, ou se este for encontrado em suas mãos, será morto.
17 He that curseth his father, or mother, shall die the death.	17 Quem amaldiçoar seu pai ou sua mãe, será punido de morte.
18 If men quarrel, and the one strike his neighbour with a stone or with his fist, and he die not, but keepeth his bed:	18 Quando, em uma contenda entre dois homens, um dos dois ferir o outro com uma pedra ou com o punho, sem matá-lo, mas o obrigar a ficar de cama,
19 If he rise again and walk abroad upon his staff, he that struck him shall be quit, yet so that he make restitution for his work, and for his expenses upon the physicians.	19 aquele que feriu não será punido, se o outro se levantar e puder passear fora com seu bastão. Mas indenizá-lo-á pelo tempo que perdeu e os remédios que gastou.
20 He that striketh his bondman or bondwoman with a rod, and they die under his hands, shall be guilty of the crime.	20 Se um homem ferir seu escravo ou sua escrava com um bastão, de modo que ele morra sob sua mão, será punido.
21 But if the party remain alive a day or two, he shall not be subject to the punishment, because it is his money.	21 Se o escravo, porém, sobreviver um dia ou dois, não será punido, porque ele é propriedade do seu senhor.
22 If men quarrel, and one strike a woman with child, and she miscarry indeed, but live herself: he shall be answerable for so much damage as the woman's husband shall require, and as arbiters shall award.	22 Se homens brigarem, e acontecer que venham a ferir uma mulher grávida, e esta der à luz sem nenhum dano, eles serão passíveis de uma indenização imposta pelo marido da mulher, e que pagarão diante dos juízes.
23 But if her death ensue thereupon, he shall render life for life.	23 Mas, se houver outros danos, urge dar vida por vida,
24 Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,	24 olho por olho, dente por dente, mão por mão, pé por pé,
25 Burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.	25 queimadura por queimadura, ferida por ferida, golpe por golpe.
26 If any man strike the eye of his manservant or maidservant, and leave them but one eye, he shall let them go free for the eye which he put out.	26 Se um homem, ferindo seu escravo ou sua escrava, atinge-lhe o olho e o faz perdê-lo, deixá-lo-á ir livre em compensação de seu olho.
27 Also if he strike out a tooth of his manservant or maidservant, he shall in like manner make them free.	27 E, se lhe deitar fora um dente, deixá-lo-á ir livre em compensação do dente.
28 If an ox gore a man or a woman, and they die, he shall be stoned: and his flesh shall not be eaten, but the owner of the ox shall be quit.	28 Se um boi ferir mortalmente um homem ou uma mulher com as pontas dos chifres, será apedrejado e não se comerá a sua carne; mas o dono do boi não será punido.
29 But if the ox was wont to push with his horn yesterday and the day before, and they warned his master, and he did not shut him up, and he shall kill a man or a woman: then the ox shall be stoned, an his owner also shall be put to death.	29 Porém, se o boi era já acostumado a dar chifradas, e o dono, tendo sido avisado, não o vigiou, o boi será apedrejado, se matar um homem ou uma mulher, e seu dono também morrerá.
30 And if they set a price upon him, he shall give for his life whatsoever is laid upon him.	30 Se, para resgatar sua vida, lhe for imposta uma quitação, ele deverá dar todo o preço que lhe tiver sido imposto.
31 If he have gored a son, or a daughter, he shall fall under the like sentence.	31 Se o boi ferir um filho ou uma filha, aplicar-se-á a mesma lei.
32 If he assault a bondman or a bond woman, he shall give thirty sicles of silver to their master, and the ox shall be stoned.	32 Mas, se ferir um escravo ou uma escrava, pagar-se-á ao seu senhor trinta siclos de prata, e o boi será apedrejado.
33 If a man open a pit, and dig one, and cover it not, and an ox or an ass fall into it,	33 Se alguém deixar uma cisterna aberta ou cavar uma sem cobri-la, e nela cair um boi ou um jumento, o proprietário da cisterna pagará uma indenização:
34 The owner of the pit shall pay the price of the beasts: and that which is dead shall be his own.	34 reembolsará em dinheiro o proprietário do animal morto, e este será seu.
35 If one man's ox gore another man's ox, and he die: they shall sell the live ox, and shall divide the price, and the carcass of that which died they shall part between them:	35 Se o boi de alguém der uma chifrada no boi de um outro, e este vier a morrer, venderão o boi vivo e repartirão o valor: repartirão igualmente o boi morto.
36 But if he knew that his ox was wont to push yesterday and the day before, and his master did not keep him in: he shall pay ox for ox, and shall take the whole carcass.	36 Mas, se o boi era já acostumado a dar chifradas, seu dono, que não o vigiou, pagará boi por boi, e receberá o animal morto."
