DOUAI-RHEIMSJERUSALEM
In the first year of Cyrus king of the Persians, that the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremias might be fulfilled, the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of the Persians: and he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and in writing also, saying:1 Or la première année de Cyrus, roi de Perse, pour accomplir la parole de Yahvé prononcée par Jérémie,Yahvé éveilla l'esprit de Cyrus, roi de Perse, qui fit proclamer -- et même afficher -- dans tout son royaume:
Thus saith Cyrus king of the Persians: The Lord the God of heaven hath given to me all the kingdoms of the earth, and he hath charged me to build him a house in Jerusalem, which is in Judea.2 "Ainsi parle Cyrus, roi de Perse: Yahvé, le Dieu du ciel, m'a remis tous les royaumes de la terre, c'estlui qui m'a chargé de lui bâtir un Temple à Jérusalem, en Juda.
Who is there among you of all his people? His God be with him. Let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Jndert, and build the house of the Lord the God of Israel: he is the God that is in Jerusalem.3 Quiconque, parmi vous, fait partie de tout son peuple, que son Dieu soit avec lui! Qu'il monte àJérusalem, en Juda, et bâtisse le Temple de Yahvé, le Dieu d'Israël -- c'est le Dieu qui est à Jérusalem.
And let all the restin all places wheresoever they dwell, help him every man from his place. with silver and gold, and goods, and cattle, besides that which they offer freely to the temple of God, which is in Jerusalem.4 Qu'à tous les rescapés, partout, la population des lieux où ils résident apporte une aide en argent, enor, en équipement et en montures, en même temps que des offrandes de dévotion pour le Temple de Dieu qui està Jérusalem."
Then rose up the chief of the fathers of Juda and Benjamin, and the priests, and Levites, and every one whose spirit God had raised up, to go up to build the temple of the Lord, which was in Jerusalem.5 Alors les chefs de famille de Juda et de Benjamin, les prêtres et les lévites, bref tous ceux dont Dieuavait éveillé l'esprit, se levèrent pour aller bâtir le Temple de Yahvé, à Jérusalem;
And all they that were round about, helped their hands with vessels of silver, and gold, with goods, and with beasts, and with furniture, besides what they had offered on their own accord.6 et tous leurs voisins leur apportèrent toute sorte d'aide: argent, or, équipement, montures et cadeauxprécieux,, sans compter toutes les offrandes de dévotion.
And king Cyrus brought forth the vessels of the temple of the Lord, which Nabuchodonosor had taken from Jerusalem, and had put them in the temple of his god.7 Le roi Cyrus fit prendre les ustensiles du Temple de Yahvé que Nabuchodonosor avait apportés deJérusalem et offerts au temple de son dieu.
Now Cyrus king of Persia brought them forth by the hand of Mithridates the son of Gazabar, and numbered them to Sassabasar the prince of Juda.8 Cyrus, roi de Perse, les remit aux mains de Mithridate, le trésorier, qui les dénombra pourSheshbaççar, le prince de Juda.
And this is the number of them: thirty bowls of gold, a thousand bowls of silver, nine and twenty knives, thirty cups of gold,9 Voici leur inventaire: bassins d'or: 30; bassins d'argent: mille, réparés: 29;
