Isaia 32

DIODATI	NEW AMERICAN BIBLE
1 ECCO, un re regnerà in giustizia; e quant’è a’ principi, signoreggeranno in dirittura.	1 See, a king will reign justly and princes will rule rightly.
2 E quell’uomo sarà come un ricetto dal vento, e come un nascondimento dal nembo; come rivi d’acque in luogo arido, come l’ombra d’una gran roccia in terra asciutta.	2 Each of them will be a shelter from the wind, a retreat from the rain. They will be like streams of water in a dry country, like the shade of a great rock in a parched land.
3 E gli occhi di quelli che veggono non saranno più abbagliati, e le orecchie di quelli che odono staranno attente.	3 The eyes of those who see will not be closed;. the ears of those who hear will be attentive,
4 E il cuore degl’inconsiderati intenderà scienza, e la lingua de’ balbettanti parlerà speditamente e nettamente.	4 No more will the fool be called noble, nor the trickster be considered honorable,
5 Lo stolto non sarà più chiamato principe, e l’avaro non sarà più detto magnifico.
6 Perciocchè l’uomo da nulla parla scelleratezza, e il suo cuore opera iniquità, usando ipocrisia, e pronunziando parole di disviamento contro al Signore; per render vuota l’anima dell’affamato, e far mancar da bere all’assetato.	6 For the fool speaks foolishly, planning evil in his heart:. How to do wickedness, to speak perversely against the LORD, To let the hungry go empty and the thirsty be without drink,
7 E gli strumenti dell’avaro sono malvagi, ed egli prende scellerati consigli, per distruggere i poveri, con parole di falsità, eziandio quando il bisognoso parla dirittamente.	7 And the trickster uses wicked trickery, planning crimes: How to ruin the poor with lies, and the needy when they plead their case.
8 Ma il principe prende consigli da principe, e si leva per far cose degne di principe	8 But the noble man plans noble things, and by noble things he stands.
9 Donne agiate, levatevi, udite la mia voce; fanciulle, che vivete sicure, porgete gli orecchi al mio ragionamento.	9 O complacent ladies, rise up and hear my voice, overconfident women, give heed to my words.
10 Un anno dopo l’altro voi sarete in gran turbamento, o voi, che vivete sicure; perciocchè sarà mancata la vendemmia, la ricolta non verrà più.	10 In a little more than a year you overconfident ones will be shaken; The vintage will fail, there will be no harvest.
11 O donne agiate, abbiate spavento; tremate, voi che vivete sicure; spogliatevi ignude, e cingetevi di sacchi sopra i lombi;	11 Tremble, you who are complacent! Shudder, you who are overconfident! Strip yourselves bare, with only a loincloth to cover you,
12 percotendovi le mammelle, per li be’ campi, per le vigne fruttifere.	12 Beat your breasts for the pleasant fields, the fruitful vine,
13 Spine e pruni cresceranno sopra la terra del mio popolo; anzi sopra ogni casa di diletto, e sopra la città trionfante.	13 And the soil of my people, overgrown whth thorns and briers; For all the joyful houses, the wanton city.
14 Perciocchè i palazzi saranno abbandonati, la città piena di popolo sarà lasciata; i castelli e le fortezze saranno ridotte in perpetuo in caverne, in sollazzo d’asini salvatici, in paschi di gregge.	14 Yes, the castle will be forsaken, the noisy city deserted;
15 Finchè lo Spirito sia sparso sopra noi da alto, e che il deserto divenga un Carmel, e Carmel sia reputato per una selva.	15 Until the spirit from on high is poured out on us. Then will the desert become an orchard and the orchard be regarded as a forest.
16 Allora il giudicio abiterà nel deserto, e la giustizia dimorerà in Carmel.	16 Right will dwell in the desert and justice abide in the orchard.
17 E la pace sarà l’effetto della giustizia; e ciò che la giustizia opererà sarà riposo e sicurtà, in perpetuo.	17 Justice will bring about peace; right will produce calm and security.
18 E il mio popolo abiterà in una stanza di pace, e in tabernacoli sicurissimi, e in luoghi tranquilli di riposo;	18 My people will live in peaceful country, in secure dwellings and quiet resting places.
19 ma egli grandinerà, con caduta della selva; e la città sarà abbassata ben basso.	19 Down it comes, as trees come down in the forest! The city will be utterly laid low. Hill and tower will become wasteland forever for wild asses to frolic in, and flocks to pasture,
20 Beati voi, che seminate lungo ogni acqua, e che lasciate andar libero il piè del bue, e dell’asino!	20 Happy are you who sow beside every stream, and let the ox and the ass go freely!
