EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS	KING JAMES BIBLE
1 ¡Miren cómo nos amó el Padre! Quiso que nos llamáramos hijos de Dios, y nosotros lo somos realmente. Si el mundo no nos reconoce, es porque no lo ha reconocido a él.	1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
2 Queridos míos, desde ahora somos hijos de Dios, y lo que seremos no se ha manifestado todavía. Sabemos que cuando se manifieste, seremos semejantes a él, porque lo veremos tal cual es.	2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
3 El que tiene esta esperanza en él, se purifica, así como él es puro.	3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
4 El que comete el pecado comete también la iniquidad, porque el pecado es la iniquidad.	4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
5 Pero ustedes saben que él se manifestó para quitar el pecado, y que él no tiene pecado.	5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
6 El que permanece en él, no peca, y el que peca no lo ha visto ni lo ha conocido.	6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
7 Hijos míos, que nadie los engañe: el que practica la justicia es justo, como él mismo es justo.	7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
8 Pero el que peca procede del demonio, porque el demonio es pecador desde el principio. Y el Hijo de Dios se manifestó para destruir las obras del demonio.	8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
9 El que ha nacido de Dios no peca, porque el germen de Dios permanece en él; y no puede pecar, porque ha nacido de Dios.	9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
10 Los hijos de Dios y los hijos del demonio se manifiestan en esto: el que no practica la justicia no es de Dios, ni tampoco el que no ama a su hermano.	10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.
11 La noticia que oyeron desde el principio es esta: que nos amemos los unos a los otros.	11 For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.
12 No hagamos como Caín, que era del Maligno y mató a su hermano. ¿Y por qué lo mató? Porque sus obras eran malas, y las de su hermano, en cambio, eran justas.	12 Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous.
13 No se extrañen, hermanos, si el mundo los aborrece.	13 Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.
14 Nosotros sabemos que hemos pasado de la muerte a la Vida, porque amamos a nuestros hermanos. El que no ama permanece en la muerte.	14 We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.
15 El que odia a su hermano es un homicida, y ustedes saben que ningún homicida posee la Vida eterna.	15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
16 En esto hemos conocido el amor: en que él entregó su vida por nosotros. Por eso, también nosotros debemos dar la vida por nuestros hermanos.	16 Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
17 Si alguien vive en la abundancia, y viendo a su hermano en la necesidad, le cierra su corazón, ¿cómo permanecerá en él el amor de Dios?	17 But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?
18 Hijitos míos, no amemos solamente con la lengua y de palabra, sino con obras y de verdad.	18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
19 En esto conoceremos que somos de la verdad, y estaremos tranquilos delante de Dios	19 And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.
20 aunque nuestra conciencia nos reproche algo, porque Dios es más grande que nuestra conciencia y conoce todas las cosas.	20 For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.
21 Queridos míos, si nuestro corazón no nos hace ningún reproche, podemos acercarnos a Dios con plena confianza,	21 Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.
22 y él nos concederá todo cuanto le pidamos, porque cumplimos sus mandamientos y hacemos lo que le agrada.	22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
23 Su mandamiento es este: que creamos en el nombre de su Hijo Jesucristo, y nos amemos los unos a los otros como él nos ordenó.	23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.
24 El que cumple sus mandamientos permanece en Dios, y Dios permanece en él; y sabemos que él permanece en nosotros, por el Espíritu que nos ha dado.	24 And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.
