1 Ce jour-là Jésus sort de la maison et va s’asseoir sur les bords du lac.	1 The same day went Jesus out of the house, and sat by the sea side.
2 Mais c’est toute une foule qui s’assemble autour de lui, de sorte qu’il doit monter dans une barque où il s’assoit, pendant que tout son monde se tient sur le rivage.	2 And great multitudes were gathered together unto him, so that he went into a ship, and sat; and the whole multitude stood on the shore.
3 Puis il se met à leur parler longuement en paraboles. Il leur dit: "Voici que le semeur est sorti pour semer.	3 And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;
4 Pendant qu’il sème, une partie tombe au long du chemin et les oiseaux viennent et mangent les graines.	4 And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up:
5 D’autres graines tombent sur la rocaille où elles n’ont guère de terre. Très vite sortent les tiges parce que la terre n’est pas profonde,	5 Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:
6 mais aussitôt que le soleil chauffe, elles sont grillées et se dessèchent parce qu’elles n’ont pas de racine.	6 And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.
7 D’autres graines tombent dans les épines, et les épines croissent et les étouffent.	7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:
8 D’autres tombent sur la belle terre et donnent du fruit, l’une cent, l’autre soixante et d’autres encore trente.	8 But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.
9 Que celui qui a des oreilles entende!”	9 Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
10 Alors ses disciples s’approchent et lui disent: "Pourquoi leur parles-tu sous forme de paraboles?”	10 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?
11 Et lui leur dit ceci: "À vous il a été donné de connaître les mystères du Royaume des Cieux, mais pas à eux.	11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
12 Car à celui qui a on donnera, et il aura en abondance, mais à celui qui n’a pas on enlèvera même ce qu’il a.	12 For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.
13 Voilà pourquoi je leur parle en paraboles. Car ils regardent sans voir et ils entendent sans entendre ni comprendre.	13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
14 À eux s’applique la prophétie d’Isaïe qui dit: Écoutez, écoutez donc sans comprendre! Regardez, regardez toujours sans rien voir!	14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
15 Oui, ce peuple a la conscience endurcie; leurs oreilles ne savent plus entendre, leurs yeux sont bouchés. Ils ont peur de voir de leurs yeux et d’entendre de leurs oreilles, car alors leur cœur comprendrait et se convertirait, et moi je les guérirais.	15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
16 “Mais vous, heureux vos yeux parce qu’ils voient et vos oreilles parce qu’elles entendent!	16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.
17 Oui, je vous le dis, bien des prophètes et des justes auraient voulu voir ce que vous voyez et ne l’ont pas vu, ou entendre ce que vous entendez, et ne l’ont pas entendu.	17 For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.
18 “Vous donc, écoutez cette parabole du semeur.	18 Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower.
19 “Un certain nombre entend la parole du Royaume sans l’entendre vraiment. C’est comme le grain semé trop près du chemin: le Mauvais arrive et arrache de leur cœur ce qui a été semé.	19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.
20 “Du grain a été semé sur la rocaille; c’est celui qui écoute la parole et aussitôt l’accueille avec joie,	20 But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;
21 mais il change avec le temps, car il n’a pas de racines profondes. Pour peu que vienne une difficulté ou une persécution à cause de la parole, il abandonne aussitôt.	21 Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.
22 “Du grain est tombé dans les épines: c’est celui qui a écouté la parole et qui pourtant ne donnera pas de fruit. C’est que les préoccupations du monde et la séduction de la richesse sont venues étouffer cette parole.	22 He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.
23 “Du grain enfin a été semé sur la belle terre: voilà celui qui écoute la parole et l’accueille en lui. Il va donner du fruit et produire, peut-être cent, peut-être soixante, peut-être trente pour un.”	23 But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.
24 Jésus leur présenta une autre parabole. Il leur dit: "Voici une image du Royaume des Cieux. Un homme a semé dans son champ de la bonne semence.	24 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:
25 Pendant que les gens dormaient, l’ennemi est venu et a semé la mauvaise herbe au milieu du blé, puis il est parti.	25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.
26 “Quand le blé en herbe a donné la tige et le grain, les mauvaises herbes aussi sont apparues.	26 But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.
27 Alors les serviteurs du maître de maison sont allés le trouver pour lui dire: ‘Seigneur, n’est-ce pas de la bonne semence que tu as semée dans ton champ? Et d’où viennent ces mauvaises herbes?’	27 So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?
28 Lui leur dit: ‘C’est un ennemi qui a fait cela’›. “Alors les serviteurs lui demandent: ‘Veux-tu que nous allions les ramasser?’	28 He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?
29 Mais il leur dit: ‘Ne le faites pas; en ramassant les mauvaises herbes vous pourriez aussi arracher le blé.	29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.
30 Laissez-les donc grandir ensemble jusqu’à la moisson. Au moment de la moisson je dirai aux moissonneurs: Ramassez d’abord les mauvaises herbes et faites-en des bottes pour les brûler. Ensuite vous rassemblerez le blé dans mon grenier’.”	30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.
31 Jésus leur présenta une autre parabole: "Voulez-vous une image du Royaume des Cieux? Pensez à la graine de moutarde qu’un homme a prise pour la semer dans son champ.	31 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field:
32 C’est la plus petite des graines, mais quand elle a grandi, elle est plus grande que les légumes. Elle devient un arbre, si bien que les oiseaux du ciel viennent s’abriter dans ses branches.”	32 Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof.
33 Jésus leur dit une autre parabole: "Voulez-vous encore une image du Royaume des Cieux? Pensez au levain qu’une femme prend et enfouit dans trois mesures de farine, jusqu’à ce que tout soit levé.”	33 Another parable spake he unto them; The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.
34 Jésus disait tout cela aux foules en paraboles. Il ne leur disait rien sans faire usage de paraboles,	34 All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them:
35 de sorte que s’accomplissait la parole du prophète: J’ouvrirai la bouche et je parlerai en paraboles; je ferai connaître des choses cachées depuis la fondation du monde.”	35 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.
36 Après cela Jésus laisse la foule et vient à la maison. Alors ses disciples s’approchent de lui et lui disent: "Explique-nous la parabole des mauvaises herbes dans le champ.”	36 Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.
37 Jésus leur dit: "Celui qui sème la bonne graine, c’est le Fils de l’Homme.	37 He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;
38 Le champ, c’est le monde; la bonne graine, ce sont les enfants du Royaume; les mauvaises herbes sont les sujets du Mauvais;	38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;
39 l’ennemi qui les a semées, c’est le diable; la moisson, c’est la fin du monde; les moissonneurs sont les anges.	39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.
40 “Voyez comment on ramasse les mauvaises herbes pour les jeter au feu: ce sera pareil à la fin du monde.	40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.
41 Le Fils de l’Homme enverra ses anges pour qu’ils enlèvent de son Royaume tous les scandales, et aussi ceux qui faisaient le mal.	41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;
42 Et ils les jetteront dans la fournaise du feu: là il y aura pleurs et grincements de dents.	42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
43 Par contre les justes brilleront comme le soleil dans le Royaume de leur Père. Que celui qui a des oreilles entende.”	43 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
44 “Le Royaume des Cieux est comme un trésor caché dans un champ. Celui qui l’a trouvé referme aussitôt la cachette; c’est pour lui une telle joie qu’il s’en va vendre tout ce qu’il a et il achète ce champ.	44 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.
45 “Voulez-vous une autre image du Royaume des Cieux? Un marchand est à la recherche de belles perles.	45 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls:
46 Or voici qu’il en trouve une de grande valeur; aussitôt il s’en va vendre tout ce qu’il a et il achète la perle.	46 Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.
47 “Voici une autre image du Royaume des Cieux. Un filet a été jeté dans la mer et il y ramasse n’importe quoi.	47 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind:
48 Quand il est plein, on le ramène sur le rivage et on s’assied pour mettre ce qui est bon dans des paniers. Et ce qui n’est pas bon, on le rejette.	48 Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away.
49 “Ce sera pareil à la fin du monde: les anges viendront pour séparer les mauvais d’avec les justes,	49 So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just,
50 et ils les jetteront dans la fournaise du feu. Là il y aura pleurs et grincements de dents.”	50 And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
51 Jésus leur dit alors: "Avez-vous tout compris?” Ils lui répondent: "Oui!”	51 Jesus saith unto them, Have ye understood all these things? They say unto him, Yea, Lord.
52 Et Jésus leur dit: "Vous voyez, quand un maître en religion a été instruit du Royaume des Cieux, il est comme un maître de maison qui trouve toujours dans ses réserves de quoi distribuer, du neuf et du vieux.”	52 Then said he unto them, Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old.
53 Quand il eut terminé ces paraboles, Jésus quitta l’endroit.	53 And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these parables, he departed thence.
54 Il vint à passer par son village natal et il se mit à les enseigner dans leur synagogue. Ils ne savaient qu’en penser et disaient: "D’où lui vient cette sagesse? D’où lui viennent ces miracles?	54 And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works?
55 N’est-il pas le fils du charpentier? Sa mère s’appelle Marie, n’est-ce pas? Et ses frères, c’est Jacques, c’est Joseph, c’est Simon et Jude!	55 Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?
56 Ses sœurs aussi sont toutes des nôtres; alors, d’où lui vient tout cela?”	56 And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things?
57 C’est ainsi qu’ils butaient et ne l’acceptaient pas; mais Jésus leur dit: "Le seul endroit où l’on ne reconnaît pas un prophète, c’est dans sa patrie et dans sa famille.”	57 And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house.
58 Et à cause de leur manque de foi, il fit là peu de miracles.	58 And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.
