1 Que le désert et la terre aride se réjouissent, que la steppe dise sa joie avec des fleurs; comme le narcisse,	1 The desolate and impassable land will rejoice, and the place of solitude will exult, and it will flourish like the lily.
2 qu’elle se couvre de fleurs, qu’elle pousse des cris de joie, des acclamations! À elle de recevoir la gloire du Liban, la splendeur du Carmel et de Saron; à eux de voir la Gloire de Yahvé, la splendeur de notre Dieu.	2 It will spring up and blossom, and it will exult with rejoicing and praising. The glory of Lebanon has been given to it, with the beauty of Carmel and Sharon. These will see the glory of the Lord and the beauty of our God.
3 Fortifiez les mains qui tombent, affermissez les genoux qui tremblent,	3 Strengthen the lax hands, and confirm the weak knees!
4 dites aux craintifs: “Courage, ne craignez pas! Voici votre Dieu qui vient pour sa revanche, il leur rendra ce qu’ils ont mérité; lui-même vient pour nous sauver.”	4 Say to the fainthearted: “Take courage and fear not! Behold, your God will bring the vindication of retribution. God himself will arrive to save you.”
5 Alors les yeux des aveugles verront, les oreilles des sourds entendront,	5 Then the eyes of the blind will be opened, and the ears of the deaf will be cleared.
6 le boiteux sautera comme un cerf et la langue du muet chantera sa joie, car des eaux jailliront dans le désert, et des torrents dans la steppe.	6 Then the disabled will leap like a buck, and the tongue of the mute will be untied. For the waters have burst forth in the desert, and torrents in solitary places.
7 La terre brûlante se changera en étang, et le pays de la soif en eaux débordantes. Dans le repaire où les chacals étaient chez eux, l’herbe poussera comme les roseaux et les joncs.	7 And the land that was dry will have a pond, and the thirsty land will have fountains of water. In the hollows where the serpents lived before, there will rise up the greenery of reed and bulrush.
8 Il y aura un chemin, une route, qu’on appellera la voie sacrée; l’impur n’y passera pas, car le Seigneur lui-même ouvrira la route et l’homme sans conscience ne s’y aventurera pas.	8 And there shall be a path and a road in that place. And it will be called the Holy Way. The defiled will not pass through it. For this will be an upright path for you, so much so that the foolish will not wander along it.
9 On n’y verra jamais le lion, les bêtes sauvages n’y monteront pas; on n’en rencontrera pas sur cette route, mais les rachetés y marcheront.	9 There will be no lions in that place, and harmful wild animals will neither climb up to it, nor be found there. Only those who have been freed will walk in that place.
10 Ceux que Yahvé a rachetés reviendront, ils arriveront à Sion tout en fête, on lira sur leur visage la joie qui ne passe pas. Ils déborderont de bonheur et de joie: pleurs et douleurs auront pris fin.	10 And the redeemed of the Lord will be converted, and they will return to Zion with praising. And everlasting joy will be upon their heads. They will obtain gladness and rejoicing. For pain and sorrow will flee away.
