Isaia 19

BIBBIA VOLGARE	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Lo carico di Egitto. Ecco lo Signore salirà sopra uno nuvolo leggiero, ed entrerà in Egitto. Li idoli di Egitto si moveranno dalla faccia sua, e lo cuore li mancherà nel mezzo di lui, cioè di Egitto.	1 Proclamation about Egypt: Look! Yahweh, riding a swift cloud, is coming to Egypt. The false gods ofEgypt totter before him and Egypt's heart quails within her.
2 E farò levarsi li Egizii contro li Egizii, e l'uno uomo inverso l'altro combatterà contro al suo fratello e contro al suo amico, e le città contro le città, e lo reame contro allo reame.	2 I shal stir up Egypt against Egypt, they wil fight one another, brother against brother, friend againstfriend, city against city, kingdom against kingdom.
3 E lo spirito di Egitto sarà dirotto nelle sue interiora, e traboccherò lo suo consiglio; e addomanderanno li suoi idoli e li suoi indovini e li loro incantatori.	3 Egypt's spirit wil fail within her and I shal confound her deliberations. They will consult false gods andwizards, ghosts and sorcerers.
4 E darò Egitto nelle mani delli signori crudeli, e lo forte re averà signoria sopra di loro, dice lo Signore delli eserciti.	4 And I shal hand Egypt over to the clutches of a cruel master, a ruthless king wil rule them -- declaresYahweh Sabaoth.
5 E l'acqua del mare si seccherà, e il fiume sarà desolato, e seccherassi.	5 The waters wil ebb from the sea, the river will dry up and run low,
6 E li fiumi verranno meno; e li rivi de' campi si seccheranno; lo calamo e lo giunco infracideranno.	6 the streams wil become foul, the rivers of Egypt sink and dry up. Rush and reed wil turn black,
7 Lo letto del fiume sarà spogliato (cioè uno fiume molto abbondevole di roba, e li rivi) della sua fonte; e ogni semente bagnata si seccherà, e diventerà arida, e non sarà più.	7 the Nile-plants on the banks of the Nile; all the vegetation of the Nile, will wither, blow away and be nomore.
8 E li pescatori si doglieranno, e piagneranno tutti quelli che pongono l' amo nel fiume, e [li] spandenti le reti sopra la faccia delle acque infracideranno.	8 The fishermen wil groan, it will be mourning for al who cast hook in the Nile; those who spread nets onthe waters wil lose heart.
9 E quelli che adoperavano lo lino saranno confusi, ordenti e tessenti le cose sottili.	9 The workers of carded flax and the weavers of white cloth wil be confounded,
10 E li suoi rivi sì diventeranno aridi; e tutti quelli che facevano vivai (ovver gorghi) per pigliare li pesci.	10 the weavers dismayed, al the workmen dejected.
11 Li stolti principi di Taneo (cioè di quella contrada) e li savi consiglieri di Faraone diedono lo consiglio sciocco (e stolto senza senno). Or come direte a Faraone: io sono figliuolo di savi uomini, e io sono figliuolo di re antichi?	11 Yes, the princes of Zoan are fools, Pharaoh's wisest councillors make up a stupid council. How dare you say to Pharaoh, 'I am descended from sages, I am descended from bygone kings'?
12 Dove sono li tuoi savi? Annuncino, e dicano a te quello che ha pensato sopra Egitto [lo Signore delli esèrciti].	12 Where are these sages of yours? Let them tel you, so that all may know, the plans Yahweh Sabaothhas made against Egypt!
13 Li principi di Taneo sono fatti stolti, e li principi di Menfi sono marciti, hanno ingannato lo Egitto, lo angolo delli suoi populi (in ogni luogo).	13 The princes of Zoan are fools, the princes of Noph, self-deceivers, the top men of her provinces haveled Egypt astray.
14 Lo Signore nesedò nel mezzo di lui lo spirito della vertigine; e feceno errare Egitto in ogni opera sua, come erra lo ebrio e lo vomitante.	14 Yahweh has infused them with a giddy spirit; they have led Egypt astray in al she undertakes like adrunkard straying about as he vomits.
15 E in Egitto non sarà opera che faccia capo nè coda, ritorta e refrenata.	15 Nowadays no one does for Egypt what top and tail, palm and reed used to do.
16 E in quello die sarà Egitto quasi come femmine; e maraviglierannosi e temeranno dalla faccia della commozione della mano di Dio delli esèrciti, la quale egli hae mossa sopra di lui.	16 That day Egypt will be like women, trembling and terrified at the threatening hand of Yahweh Sabaoth,when he raises it against her.
17 E la terra di Giuda sarà in paura a Egitto; ogni uomo che si sarà ricordato di lui (cioè di Egitto) averà paura della faccia del consiglio del Signore delli esèrciti, lo quale consiglio egli pensò sopra lui.	17 The land of Judah will become Egypt's shame; whenever she is reminded of it, she wil be terrified,because of the plan which Yahweh Sabaoth has laid against her.
18 In quello dì saranno in Egitto cinque cittadi, che parleranno la lingua Cananea, e che giureranno per lo Signore delli esèrciti; e l' una sarà chiamata Città del sole.	18 That day in Egypt there wil be five towns speaking the language of Canaan and pledging themselvesto Yahweh Sabaoth; one of them will be cal ed City of the Sun.
19 In quello dì sarà uno altare di Dio nel mezzo della terra di Egitto, e lo titolo del Signore a lato al termine suo	19 That day there wil be an altar dedicated to Yahweh in the centre of Egypt and, close to the frontier, apil ar dedicated to Yahweh,
20 e sarà per segno e per testimonio al Signore delli eserciti nella terra di Egitto. E grideranno a Dio per la faccia del tribulante, e manderà loro lo salvatore e lo combattitore, lo quale liberi loro.	20 and this will be a sign and a witness to Yahweh Sabaoth in Egypt. When they cry to Yahweh for helpbecause of oppressors, he wil send them a Saviour and leader to deliver them.
21 E lo Signore sarà conosciuto da Egitto, e quelli di Egitto lo conosceranno; e in quello [di] celebreranno con ostie e con doni; e faranno li voti a Dio, e compierannoli.	21 Yahweh will reveal himself to Egypt, and the Egyptians wil acknowledge Yahweh that day and wiloffer sacrifices and cereal offerings, and wil make vows to Yahweh and perform them.
22 E lo Signore percuoterà Egitto con grande piaga, e saneragli, e (quelli di Egitto) ritorneranno (e umilierannosi) a lui; e placherassi lo Signore a loro, e saneragli.	22 And if Yahweh strikes Egypt, having struck he wil heal, and they wil turn to Yahweh who wil heartheir prayers and heal them.
23 In quello dì sarà la via di Egitto a quelli di Siria, e quelli di Siria entreranno in Egitto, e quelli di Egitto in Assiria, e quelli di Egitto serviranno a quelli di Assur.	23 That day there wil be a highway from Egypt to Assyria. Assyria will have access to Egypt and Egypthave access to Assyria. Egypt wil serve with Assyria.
24 In quello dì sarà Israel per terzo da quelli di Egitto e da quelli di Siria; la benedizione sarà nel mezzo della terra,	24 That day Israel will make a third with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing at the centre of the world,
25 a cui lo Signore delli esèrciti benedisse, dicendo: benedetto sia il popolo mio di Egitto, e le operazioni delle mie mani (sia) a quelli di Assur; e a quelli d' Israel la mia eredità.	25 and Yahweh Sabaoth wil bless them in the words, 'Blessed be my people Egypt, Assyria my creation,and Israel my heritage.'
