| 1 E udii una grande voce dal cielo, che diceva alli sette angeli: andate, ed effundete le sette angristare della ira di Dio in terra. | 1 Then I heard a loud voice from the temple telling the seven angels, "Go and pour out on the earth the seven bowls of the wrath of God." |
| 2 E andò il primo angelo, ed effundè l' angristara sua in terra; e fu fatta una piaga crudele e pessima in tutti quelli li quali avevano il carattere della bestia, e in quelli li quali adorarono (la bestia e) la imagine sua. | 2 So the first angel went and poured his bowl on the earth, and foul and evil sores came upon the men who bore the mark of the beast and worshiped its image. |
| 3 E il secondo angelo effundè la angristara sua nel mare, e fu fatto sangue come di morti; e ogni anima vivente nel mare fu morta. | 3 The second angel poured his bowl into the sea, and it became like the blood of a dead man, and every living thing died that was in the sea. |
| 4 E il terzo (angelo) effundè l' angristara sua sopra li fiumi, e sopra le fontane delle acque; e fatto è sangue. | 4 The third angel poured his bowl into the rivers and the fountains of water, and they became blood. |
| 5 E udii l'angelo delle acque, dicente: giusto se', Signore, il quale se' ed eri santo, il quale questo giudicasti. | 5 And I heard the angel of water say, "Just art thou in these thy judgments, thou who art and wast, O Holy One. |
| 6 Però [che] il sangue de' santi e profeti effundettero, e il sangue tu hai dato da bere a quelli; chè sono degni. | 6 For men have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink. It is their due!" |
| 7 E udi uno altro (angelo) dicente: etiam, Signore Iddio onnipotente, sono veri e giusti li tuoi gindicii. | 7 And I heard the altar cry, "Yea, Lord God the Almighty, true and just are thy judgments!" |
| 8 E il quarto angelo effundè l' angristara sua nel sole; e dato fu a quello, caldo soperchio e fuoco per affliggere gli uomini. | 8 The fourth angel poured his bowl on the sun, and it was allowed to scorch men with fire; |
| 9 E sono arsi li uomini di grande ardore; e blasfemarono il nome di Dio che aveva potestà sopra queste piaghe; nè hanno fatto penitenza acciò che dessero gloria a Iddio. | 9 men were scorched by the fierce heat, and they cursed the name of God who had power over these plagues, and they did not repent and give him glory. |
| 10 E il quinto angelo effundè l' angristara sua sopra la sedia della bestia; e fu fatto il suo regno, tenebroso; e mangiarono loro lingue per grande dolore. | 10 The fifth angel poured his bowl on the throne of the beast, and its kingdom was in darkness; men gnawed their tongues in anguish |
| 11 E blasfemarono Iddio de' cieli, per li dolori e vulnerazioni sue; e non facevano penitenza delle opere sue. | 11 and cursed the God of heaven for their pain and sores, and did not repent of their deeds. |
| 12 E il sesto angelo effundè l' angristana sua in quello fiume grande Eufrate; e seccò l'acqua sua, acciò che lui apparecchiasse la via alli re di levante. | 12 The sixth angel poured his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up, to prepare the way for the kings from the east. |
| 13 E vidi dalla bocca del dracone, e dalla bocca della bestia, e dalla bocca del falso profeta, uscire tre spiriti immondi a modo di rane. | 13 And I saw, issuing from the mouth of the dragon and from the mouth of the beast and from the mouth of the false prophet, three foul spirits like frogs; |
| 14 E sono spiriti de' demonii, che fanno miracoli, e vanno alli re di tutta la terra per congregarli alla battaglia al di grande di Dio onnipotente. | 14 for they are demonic spirits, performing signs, who go abroad to the kings of the whole world, to assemble them for battle on the great day of God the Almighty. |
| 15 Ecco ch' io vengo come ladro. Beato quello che vegghia, e conserva le vestimenta sue, acciò non vada nudo, chè non vedano la turpitudine sua. | 15 ("Lo, I am coming like a thief! Blessed is he who is awake, keeping his garments that he may not go naked and be seen exposed!") |
| 16 E congregolli in uno luogo il quale fu chiamato in ebreo Armagedon. | 16 And they assembled them at the place which is called in Hebrew Armageddon. |
| 17 E il settimo angelo effundè la sua angristara nell' aria; e uscì dal tempio una voce grande del trono, dicente: egli è fatto. | 17 The seventh angel poured his bowl into the air, and a loud voice came out of the temple, from the throne, saying, "It is done!" |
| 18 E sono fatte corruscazioni e voci e tuoni; e terremoto fatto fu sì grande, quale non fu mai dopo che gli uomini sono sopra la terra; tale terremoto, così grande. | 18 And there were flashes of lightning, voices, peals of thunder, and a great earthquake such as had never been since men were on the earth, so great was that earthquake. |
| 19 E fatta è la città grande in tre parti; e le città delle genti cascorono; e Babilonia grande venne in memoria avanti a Iddio, di darle il calice di sdegno della ira sua. | 19 The great city was split into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell, and God remembered great Babylon, to make her drain the cup of the fury of his wrath. |
| 20 E ogni insula fuggitte, e li monti non sono trovati. | 20 And every island fled away, and no mountains were to be found; |
| 21 E tempesta grande come uno talento discendette dal cielo alli uomini; e blasfemarono li uomini Iddio per la piaga dalla tempesta, conciosia ch' ella è fatta grande fortemente. | 21 and great hailstones, heavy as a hundred-weight, dropped on men from heaven, till men cursed God for the plague of the hail, so fearful was that plague. |
