¹ Avessimo grato che tu rompessi li cieli, e iscendessi giuso; che li monti si movessono per la tua faccia,	¹ That thou wouldst rend the heavens, and wouldst come down: the mountains would melt away at thy presence.
² e diventasseno niente come l'arsione del fuoco, e il fuoco ardesse loro, acciò che si facesse manifesto lo tuo nome alli tuoi nimici, e che le genti si turbassono per la tua faccia (cioè per paura).	² They would melt as at the burning of fire, the waters would burn with fire, that thy name might be made known to thy enemies: that the nations might tremble at thy presence.
³ E conciosia cosa che tu faccia le maraviglie, noi non ti sosterremo; tu iscendesti, e li monti iscorsono dalla tua faccia.	³ When thou shalt do wonderful things, we shall not bear them: thou didst come down, and at thy presence the mountains melted away.
⁴ Mai non fu udito, e non si ricevette mai in orecchie; e occhio non vidde sanza te quello che tu, Signore, apparecchiasti a quelli che ti aspettano, (cioè quelli che hanno speranza in te).	⁴ From the beginning of the world they have not heard, nor perceived with the ears: the eye hath not seen, O God, besides thee, what things thou hast prepared for them that wait for thee.
⁵ Tu venisti contro a quelli che se ne rallegra e che fa la giustizia; egli si ricorderanno di te nelle tue vie (cioè nelle tue opere); ecco tu se' adirato, e noi peccammo; e fummo sempre nelli peccati, e pure ci salveremo.	⁵ Thou hast met him that rejoiceth, and doth justice: in thy ways they shall remember thee: behold thou art angry, and we have sinned: in them we have been always, and we shall be saved.
⁶ E siamo fatti sì come l'uomo brutto tutti noi; e come lo panno della donna che hae partorito, così sono le nostre giustizie; e tutti cademmo come foglie, e le nostre iniquitadi tolsono noi come uno vento.	⁶ And we are all become as one unclean, and all our justices as the rag of a menstruous woman: and we have all fallen as a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
⁷ E non è chi chiami lo tuo nome, e chi si levi e tenga te; tu nascondesti la tua faccia da noi, e percotesti noi nella mano della nostra malvagitade.	⁷ There is none that calleth upon thy name: that riseth up, and taketh hold of thee: thou hast hid thy face from us, and hast crushed us in the hand of our iniquity.
⁸ E ora, Signore, tu se' lo nostro padre, e noi siamo loto; e tu se' nostro facitore, e tutti siamo opera delle tue mani.	⁸ And now, O Lord, thou art our father, and we are clay: and thou art our maker, and we all are the works of thy hands.
⁹ O Signore, non ti adirare assai, e non ti ricordare più delle nostre malvagitadi; ecco, Signore, ragguarda noi, per ciò che siamo tutti il popolo tuo.	⁹ Be not very angry, O Lord, and remember no longer our iniquity: behold, see we are all thy people.
¹⁰ La tua cittade santa sì è fatta deserta; Sion è fatta deserta; è desolata Ierusalem.	¹⁰ The city of thy sanctuary is become a desert, Sion is made a desert, Jerusalem is desolate.
¹¹ E la casa della nostra santificazione sì è desolata, e quella della nostra gloria, dove li nostri padri diedono laude a te; e quello luogo venne alle mani del fuoco, e tutte le nostre cose desiderabili sono rivolte in rovine.	¹¹ The house of our holiness, and of our glory, where our fathers praised thee, is burnt with fire, and all our lovely things are turned into ruins.
¹² Signore, contenerai tu te sopra tutte queste cose, o tacerai tu? (istando così) darai tu così forte afflizione a noi?	¹² Wilt thou refrain thyself, O Lord, upon these things, wilt thou hold thy peace, and afflict us vehemently?
