1 In questo mezzo favello lo Signore a Iacob, dicendo: lieva suso, e va a Betel, e abita quivi, e fa l'altare al Signore, il quale apparì a te quando tu fuggivi Esaù tuo fratello.	1 And God said unto Jacob, Arise, go up to Bethel, and dwell there: and make there an altar unto God, that appeared unto thee when thou fleddest from the face of Esau thy brother.
2 Ma Iacob, raunato ogni sua cosa, disse: gittate via li dii d'altrui, i quali sono nel mezzo di voi, e mondatevi, e mutate i vestimenti vostri.	2 Then Jacob said unto his household, and to all that were with him, Put away the strange gods that are among you, and be clean, and change your garments:
3 Lerate suso, e andiamo in Betel, acciò che noi facciamo quivi l'altare al Signore; il quale esaudi me nel die della tribulazione mia, e fu compagno nell'andamento mio.	3 And let us arise, and go up to Bethel; and I will make there an altar unto God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way which I went.
4 E diedero adunque a lui tutti i dii d'altrui li quali aveano, e gli ornamenti i quali aveano nel l'orecchie. Quelli sotterrò sotto lo terebinto, il quale è dopo la città di Sichem.	4 And they gave unto Jacob all the strange gods which were in their hand, and all their earrings which were in their ears; and Jacob hid them under the oak which was by Shechem.
5 E conciosia cosa che fossero dispartiti, la paura del Signore assalì tutte le città d'intorno; e non sono arditi di perseguitare coloro che se n'an davano.	5 And they journeyed: and the terror of God was upon the cities that were round about them, and they did not pursue after the sons of Jacob.
6 Adunque Iacob venne a Luza, la quale è nella terra Canaan, cognomento di Betel; egli ed ogni popolo con lui.	6 So Jacob came to Luz, which is in the land of Canaan, that is, Bethel, he and all the people that were with him.
7 Ed edificoe quivi l'altare al Signore, e ap pellò lo nome di quello luogo CASA DI DIO. Qui ancora appario a lui lo Signore, quando fuggiva lo fratello SUIO.	7 And he built there an altar, and called the place El-beth-el: because there God appeared unto him, when he fled from the face of his brother.
8 In quello medesimo tempo, morta Debora, la balia di Rebecca, è sepolta alla radice di Betel sotto una quercia; e chiamato lo nome di quello luogo QUERCIA DI PIANTO.	8 But Deborah Rebekah's nurse died, and she was buried beneath Bethel under an oak: and the name of it was called Allon-bachuth.
9 E appario ancora un'altra volta Iddio a Iacob, dopo che tornò da Mesopotamia di Siria, e benedisse lui,	9 And God appeared unto Jacob again, when he came out of Padan-aram, and blessed him.
10 dicendo: non sarai chiamato più oltre Iacob, ma Israel sarà lo nome tuo; e chiamò lui Israel.	10 And God said unto him, Thy name is Jacob: thy name shall not be called any more Jacob, but Israel shall be thy name: and he called his name Israel.
11 E disse a lui (lo Dio onnipotente): io ti farò crescere e moltiplicare; e le genti ed i popoli delle nazioni usciranno di te; e re usciranno de'lombi tuoi.	11 And God said unto him, I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins;
12 E la terra, la quale io diedi ad Abraam e ad Isaac, darò a te e al seme tuo dopo te.	12 And the land which I gave Abraham and Isaac, to thee I will give it, and to thy seed after thee will I give the land.
13 E partissi da lui.	13 And God went up from him in the place where he talked with him.
14 Ma quegli in verità dirizzoe una pietra in titolo, in quello luogo nel quale gli avea favellato Iddio, spargente sopra quella sacrificii, ed ispargentevi olio.	14 And Jacob set up a pillar in the place where he talked with him, even a pillar of stone: and he poured a drink offering thereon, and he poured oil thereon.
15 E chiamò lo nome di quello luogo BETEL.	15 And Jacob called the name of the place where God spake with him, Bethel.
16 E partitosi quindi nel tempo di verno, venne alla terra la quale mena in Efrata. Nella quale, con ciosia cosa che vi partorisse, Rachel	16 And they journeyed from Bethel; and there was but a little way to come to Ephrath: and Rachel travailed, and she had hard labour.
17 per malagevolezza del parto ad infermare incominciò. E disse a lei la ostetrice: non temere, imperciò che tu averai questo figliuolo.	17 And it came to pass, when she was in hard labour, that the midwife said unto her, Fear not; thou shalt have this son also.
18 Ma uscendo l'anima per lo dolore, e sopra stante già la morte, chiamò il figliuolo suo BENONI, cioè figliuolo del mio dolore; ma il padre l'appelloe BENIAMIN, cioè figliuolo della mano diritta.	18 And it came to pass, as her soul was in departing, (for she died) that she called his name Ben-oni: but his father called him Benjamin.
19 E morta è in verità Rachel, è sepolta nella via che mena in Efrata; questa è Betleem.	19 And Rachel died, and was buried in the way to Ephrath, which is Bethlehem.
20 E dirizzorvi Iacob il titolo sopra lo sepolcro suo: questo è il titolo del sepolcro di Rachel insino al presente di.	20 And Jacob set a pillar upon her grave: that is the pillar of Rachel's grave unto this day.
21 E partitosi quindi, compose lo tabernacolo di là dalla torre della greggia.	21 And Israel journeyed, and spread his tent beyond the tower of Edar.
22 E conciosia cosa ch' egli abitasse in quella regione, andd Ruben, e dormi con Bala concubina del padre suo; la quale cosa non rimase a lui ascosta. Ed erano i figliuoli di Iacob duodeci.	22 And it came to pass, when Israel dwelt in that land, that Reuben went and lay with Bilhah his father's concubine: and Israel heard it. Now the sons of Jacob were twelve:
23 Li figliuoli di Lia: lo primogenito Ruben, Simeon e Levi e Iuda e Issacar e Zabulon.	23 The sons of Leah; Reuben, Jacob's firstborn, and Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Zebulun:
24 Li figliuoli di Rachel: Iosef e Beniamin.	24 The sons of Rachel; Joseph, and Benjamin:
25 Li figliuoli di Bala, ancilla di Rachel: Dan e Neftali.	25 And the sons of Bilhah, Rachel's handmaid; Dan, and Naphtali:
26 Li figliuoli di Zelfa, ancilla di Lia: Gad e Aser. Questi sono li figliuoli di Iacob, i quali sono nati in Mesopotamia di Siria.	26 And the sons of Zilpah, Leah's handmaid; Gad, and Asher: these are the sons of Jacob, which were born to him in Padan-aram.
27 E venne in verità ad Isaac, padre suo, in Mambre, città d'Arbea; questa è Ebron, nella quale peregrinò Abraam ed Isaac.	27 And Jacob came unto Isaac his father unto Mamre, unto the city of Arbah, which is Hebron, where Abraham and Isaac sojourned.
28 E compiuti sono i dì d'Isaac, CLXXX anni.	28 And the days of Isaac were an hundred and fourscore years.
29 E consumato della sua etade, morto è; ed apposito al popolo suo, vecchio e pieno di dì: sotterrarono lui Esal e Iacob, suoi figliuoli.	29 And Isaac gave up the ghost, and died, and was gathered unto his people, being old and full of days: and his sons Esau and Jacob buried him.
